This game was actually pretty good. I'll break it down. First, the positives: *Not a lot of bactracking. When you finish an area, you move on to the next. *Sound was nice. Not loud and annoying but more soft and creepy. There were no voice-overs, which didn't bother me because I'd rather read the dialogue. But that's just me :) *Length was good. It took me about 7 or 8 hours to finish. *The storyline was interesting. There were a few holes, but aren't there always lol? *The puzzles were not too hard, but they did afford the player a challenge. The hints didn't come in the storyline but in the photos. There were a lot of riddles to solve, which was cool. I think it's definitely worth mentioning that this is NOT a HOG. There was one HOS in the whole game, and it wasn't a real HOS. This is all adventure. There were a couple of drawbacks. There were times when I had no clue what to do so I had to use the hint button, but that's pretty much normal for PC games. The only other complaint I had was that every time I performed an action, it just had to state it. For example, if I picked up a dagger, it would state on the screen, "I am picking up a dagger." Seriously. That was my biggest complaint because it was the most annoying. Overall, though, it was a fun game to play for the day!
I recommend this game!

Although not the best game, this is certainly not the worst I've ever played. It flowed nice from chapter to chapter. There are two modes to play on: casual and advanced. I played on advanced, which meant less sparkles and longer time for the hint and skip buttons to recharge. In both modes there is a penalty for clicking too much. I would have enjoyed this game much more if the HOS didn't involve such small items to look for. That's when I always needed to use the hint button. The puzzles are pretty easy, so I never used the skip button. To get instructions for the puzzles you have to click on the help button. I don't usually leave the sound on for long, but from what I did hear it went hand-in-hand with the game. I personally am glad that we read the dialogue rather than listened to it because too often the voice actors go way over-the-top. There really wasn't a lot of backtracking, which was really nice, so there wasn't a need for a map. The game flowed smooth and linear. All in all, a pleasant game that had a cool storyline.
I recommend this game!

After playing this game, I just had to write a review. This is now my favorite game. Where do I begin? From start to finish this game was just awesome! I loved the opening sequence because it starts the game off as if it is a movie. It is that way throughout the game. Whenever you complete something it switches to movie mode. Awesome! Sound was very good. It wasn't annoying like in some games. The story is phenomenal, and it concludes with a cliffhanger. So if you are contemplating buying the CE, I suggest you do it! If I had known how great this game was, I certainly would have. There are a LOT of games and challenges. Some are easy while some are more difficult. They require you to think outside the box. I couldn't get enough. I love being challenged like that. The games were offset with just the right amount of HOS. And this game is very long! It took me a couple of days to complete. I feel I really got my money's worth with this game. The graphics were very well-done, especially the movie-type scenes which I just reviewed! I only had to skip one puzzle, and it wasn't because I couldn't figure it out. It was because my computer glitched on that one puzzle. I tried not to use the SG too much for this game because it really made me use my noodle. I did use the hint button at times when I was stuck. My suggestion would be to make sure that you comb every inch of a room before you leave because chances are there will be something you need that's hidden really well. The hint button recharges pretty quick too. The map was unbelievably cool. If you needed to go somewhere else, all you had to do was click on the map and you're there. There are 6 levels to this game, and after you complete a level the next one starts a brand new map. That's really great because there are a lot of rooms to explore! Overall, 5 stars for this game! Great graphics, great sound, great story, great length, great challenges! What more could you ask for? I intend on getting more games from Elephant if they are as good as this one!
I recommend this game!

This is one of those very challenging games that you don't see too often. After seeing how the game ends, I can honestly say I wish I had bought the CE. I'll highlight the major points: *Game length is pretty good (I didn't, however, finish the game in one sitting#. *Puzzles can be very tough; there was one that took me hours to do until it clicked in my mind how to solve it #I was too stubborn to hit the Skip button). *The antagonist speaks a lot during this game. I found that kind of annoying, especially because I would be really into a scene and then jump off my chair from fright. His voice tended to come out of nowhere. *This game plays like a horror movie. I have never played a game like that on BF. That said, it isn't for the faint of heart because you will probably jump a few times, and there are dead bodies. *There's a lot of backtracking, but I didn't mind it. You have a map that tells you where you are, which is good, but you can't jump to a scene by clicking on the map. You have to do it the old skool way: walking. *Every item you pick up serves a useful purpose, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. Overall, I thought this was a very well-done game. I would definitely classify it as a mystery rather than HO. HO scenes were very few and far between. The game is almost all puzzles, and some can be quite hard. I found the HOS a good way to relax until the next puzzle. Graphics were very good and realistic. As much as the sound irked me, I can honestly say that it was good for this game. I just scare easy. I'm looking forward to playing the sequel!
