Most Casual Arts Games are stellar. This one, was all right up until I was trying to find "Dollar" in an HO screen. I couldn't find it anywhere. Used the "HINT" button which showed me and area where there was clearly NOT a Dollar. Waited and used HINT again; still no dollar. I clicked around in the area, nothing. Again, clicked around after using HINT again. STILL THE SAME AREA WITHOUT A DOLLAR. This just sucks the fun out of the game. After several more rinse and repeats, I clicked on the very tip of a pumpkin's stem in the HINT area - this was more by chance than anything else, and it counted the dollar. There is no way to move on or through these situations when the game itself is clearly messed up.
Happily, the folks at Casual Arts perked things up a little and made it...less easy...to find things. Not difficult, just less easy which was to me, a blast.
Also, kudos to CA for taking out those gawd-awful sliding block puzzles and replacing them with more jigsaws and switch-two. Made game play much more pleasurable.
10 out of 10 will buy both the CE and the regular version when it's released. Played through it the first night then played through again.
Now, we just have to wait for the next installments of Park Ranger and Cruise Director.
The artwork is pretty except when you're trying to put a puzzle together. Everything is dark and it's hard to distinguish where everything goes. Even using the color bars to change the background doesn't help much. The game freezes and you either have to restart the puzzle or back completely out of the game and reload.
I snatch up the Park Ranger, Christmas Wonderland and Cruise Director series whenever they come out. My ONE complaint on Park Ranger 7 is that it seemed to be much shorter than previous versions. Still fun, still has beautiful photography and fun puzzles in between the HOPs, just seemed to have much less game panels. It still remains one of my favorite series. I look forward to each installment and will continue to do so. I hope they will keep up the quality and the "fun for all" factor.
It felt like a trip back to the first DP. It has an interesting storyline, great subtext, the characters are written better. Two small suggestions: more HOP's, less of the SAME games over and over again and please, by all that is holy with the Game Gods, include "Fast Travel". I cannot tell you how many times I had to navigate to a previous scene when it would have been so much better to port there via fast travel.
I recommend this game!

Big City Adventure - San Francisco
Join the Big City Adventure treasure hunt in San Fransisco and have the trip of a lifetime looking for hidden objects.
I've loved, diligently sought out and played all the games in the Big City Adventures series. This is a disappointment. The graphics are so blurry it is almost impossible to make out what you're looking for. The "Match two" game near the end was terrible. I've had to stop there out of frustration of not being able to finish what should be a simple part of the game and not being able to skip it. I've read through the reviews that a number of others have had this same problem. Jolly Bear needs to review this one and make some serious improvements because this is not up to their previous quality on any of their other games.
After those last awful installments of Devil's Triangle and Uncharted Islands, I wasn't sure I'd play another Hidden Expeditions game again. So happy I bought this one! It is back to their former format, challenging but playable and a decent storyline. Definitely recommend this game if you've loved Hidden Expeditions in the past.
I recommend this game!

Hidden Expedition: Devils Triangle
Follow the Hidden Expedition Adventure Team to Devil`s Triangle and help track down Phoebe, a famous ace pilot lost at sea!
Hidden Expedition games have been my favorite, until now. I don't know why they decided to change their format but it is not an improvement. I enjoyed their games because they got you right into the story, had a sensible storyline and you had a logical ending. This has a hint format that is unusable. If you click on a hint in an HO, it solves the complete puzzle for you. If you click on a hint to see where to go next, you get nothing. There is no map provided and completely nonsensical, unnecessary "discussions" with NPC's. Go back to your original format or improve this one, please, Hidden Expedition. I wouldn't waste a "free game" code on this and it is definitely not worth paying for.
I got this as a free game with my credits. I thought it would be something fun to try as I generally play Hidden Object games exclusively. I was at first surprised with actually how challenging it became from the first level up to the last level. I did have fun going back and leveling up the stars to gold on the puzzles which were more difficult and required more than one pass. It is simple enough for a younger player but challenging enough for a more experienced played. It requires spatial awareness and perception to place the pieces correctly and offers hints which can be purchased for game points either as needed or once you accumulate enough points, you can use the hints at will if you choose, with no penalty. Very cute and very fun. No stress and no nail biting. There is no story line, just a progression through the different levels. Highly recommended!
I recommend this game!

I've played and enjoyed all the Hidden Expedition franchise and enjoyed them all up until now. The story line was sloppy, the graphics VERY dark which is difficult for persons with any visual impairment and most importantly, NO MAP. Generally if the HINT button is used it will highlight the item in the inventory and the area on the screen which coincides. This would just highlight the area on the screen with no other direction given. This was also true for which room or path to go to. With no map as a reference and having to come back to the game with sometimes a day or two in between, I've appreciated being able to pull up the map to see where I was and where I was going. This game will simply put a sparkly circle around the thing you need to complete. Yes, I know what I need to complete, I just need to know which direction to go! Also the 5 HINT tumbler is silly. The instructions say that you get 5 HINTS per room, no, you get any number of hints if you need them, you just have to wait for the hints to recharge. The problem again is that with NO MAP, it would be nice to click a hint to see if you've covered everything. Sadly the HINT tumbler becomes inactive once you have completed tasks with in that room, despite having to go THROUGH the room a number of times in order to complete a different objective. I would happily recommend any of the other Hidden Expedition games, just not this particular one. I think they rushed through this and didn't apply the same standards which they have on their other games.
