This new game gets at the heart of what I want in a resource management game: a variety of challenges that require shifting play strategies to get 3 stars. My hat is off to some reviewers who say they found it easy -- I'm a veteran TM player and I really had to wrestle with some of the levels here. Having easy levels occasionally provided a welcome balance.
Generic strategies won't get you to 3 stars on this game: you may need to throw out approaches that work well in most games, and you definitely need to keep a close eye on details of resource management and sequencing. It took more replays than usual for me to get 3 stars on everything.
I loved the fast pace and the fresh game elements that add to the strategy challenge. The gameplay didn't seem at all "clicky" to me: you don't have to pick up resources from your production sites, for example, and you don't need huge numbers of a commodity to accomplish each task.
If the developer happens to see this, I have one request: please tone down the monkey sounds somewhat relative to ambient noise.
I hope this becomes a series -- I'd buy the next one in a heartbeat!
This is a top-notch game so far (Level 16) and a great addition to the time/resource management game genre. The "normal" level sometimes requires repeats even in the early levels to get 3 stars. As of level 16, complexity is building gradually without excessive prompts that interfere with game flow. I'm already pinning my hopes on this growing into a series!
