This game was very well made. The voice overs were very well done, and the artwork (while dark) was absolutely beautiful. I am not a fan of millions of HOS and in my opinion there was just the right amount here. There isn't a map so make sure you wear sturdy sneakers. I am not the fastest player on here, but not the slowest by any means, and this game took me a few hours. Extras are not available until after the game is played (I know some people don't like that). I played casual and the sparkles were not overdone, hint took about 30 seconds, and skip took 60-75 seconds. According to the game, advanced has no sparkles, and there is a longer recharge time for hints and skips. Those are the only 2 settings so those looking for hardcore may not be happy. Those that liked City of Fog are sure to appreciate this game. I actually enjoyed watching how the story unfolded. Some folks are sick of the dark and dreary, if that's the case, this game probably isn't for you. All in all I gave the game 5 stars across the board. It hooked me, so I had to purchase it immediately, and it is clear that ALOT of time, love, and work, went into this game. Kudos to the devs, and thanks BFG.
I recommend this game!

While I'm not a fan of Kiss, Gene Simmons, or Shannon Tweed....

I actually had fun playing the game. The platform (as you probably saw in other reviews) is like Plants Vs. Zombies which is probably why I enjoyed playing. I absolutely loved P vs. Z. There are 2 modes, easy & normal. As you play you unlock albums that are loaded with photos of the Tweed-Simmons family. Not professional shots that I've seen so far, but actual photos from the family albums. That should be a plus for fans. I actually watched an interview with Shannon Tweed, where she explains the choice of storyline. Believe it or not there are still groupies after Gene Simmons ( I know a few uberfans myself). Despite what some may think, the game isn't about killing women. One of the tools used is (spoiler alert?).
a machine that shoots water at the groupies to wash their makeup off and a sort of stink bomb that makes them smelly. It isn't gory. They don't lose body parts like Plants Vs. Zombies. Essentially, this is Shannons way of fighting back the women that are after her husband, in a spoofy way.
When one looks at the game from that perspective they might not be so hard on it. Shannon actually does the voice for her character, and so does her daughter Sophie (I think that's her name?). All in all I had fun playing and bought it. It isn't the same caliber as P v. Z BUT for her first try I think Shannon did a good job, and the cartoony style and chasing off stupid groupies make it all the more fun. I would recommend this game for fans of P v. Z style games, and/or fans of the Tweed-Simmons clan.
I recommend this game!

Shiver: Poltergeist Collector's Edition
After inheriting a manor in England, you begin to explore the Kangale Estate and discover its history!
I loved this game! For starters, it was very well made. It's obvious right from the start that these devs put their heart and soul into their work. These are the same people that created Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker (another game I really enjoyed). It's also obvious that they listen when people talk. First, the extra content is available with the demo. The first 2 chapters in the SG (that did not hold my place), the concept art, and the wallpapers. I know that's something people look for. Also, I played casual, and the sparkles were not overdone. The voice overs were superb, the artwork was beautiful , and I LOVED the fact that I didn't have to do the same hos OVER and OVER again. That irritates me. I also like the fact that the number of hos stayed consistent throughout the game. I didn't feel like they were cramming them in at the end to make the game longer. If there is one complaint, it's minor. My eyes aren't the best anymore, and I found myself having to use the hint button. BUT it's my eyes. My daughter did a hos in under a minute with no hints (while I sat like a dunce squinting at the screen and found ONE thing). LOL I understand that when these games are created, people don't want stuff easily found, but it might be nice if one dev offered a "visually challenged folks" mode. Maybe make the items bigger? Or less junk? All in all this is a 5 star game in my opinion, and well worth the CE price. I will most definitely keep my eye out for more from these devs.
