The plot was uninspiring and I didn't really care if the elf got his hammer back. Puzzles were okay but there was very little description of how to solve them so I just had to skip some because I just couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do.
The ending was probably the quickest boss fight I've ever played. Felt rushed like the developers were trying to get this out the door in time for Christmas.
There are much better Christmas Stories out there. Don't bother with this one.
Great visuals. Storyline was weak. This game is almost all HOG of the junkpile variety and pick up items to use later. Very few puzzles...I prefer about half and half puzzles to HOG, so that is why my rating is not higher.
I played the CE, and I was very disappointed with the bonus play. Don't want to give spoilers but none of the items was used in a logical way...I had to use the walkthrough just to get through it. I would be carrying 3 things that would work in a given situation, but instead the game wanted something really wacky. And the bonus chapter did not really wrap up...it just kind of...ended.
This game has beautiful graphics and an actual storyline that continues over the three games (so far) of the series.
A nice mix of HO and puzzles. Most of the HOG's are NOT random trash to pick through, which makes me happy. I get tired of picking through the trash piles all the time.
Nothing dark or spooky here. Just nice light fantasy. I begin to despair of Sophia EVER finding her parents though....
I recommend this game!

This is the best time wasting game ever. I used to play Yahtzee to relax and waste time, but this game just beat that hands down. It is simple but endlessly challenging.
I recommend this game!

Trying to find a replacement for Equestriad 3 Day Eventing which is no longer supported. This game is ALMOST as good. I have played for about 3 hours and I am continuing to level up, and there are lots of areas I haven't even reached yet.
The riding is fairly realistic and I like controlling the horse with the mouse...it is much more intuitive for me. I wish it was easier to ride at a slow pace, but the game seems to prefer galloping all the time. Then it complains that your horse is tired! Walking or trotting for a while should restore your stamina, but it doesn't. Oh well.
The landscapes were very pretty and the showing was good. I wish there was more customization for the character and the horses and more things to buy...especially things that are not pink!
I was looking for a game to replace Equestriad, which is no longer supported. This game is NOT it.
When I play horseback riding game, I want to be able to enjoy the illusion that I am on the horse and doing the showjumping, cross country, etc. This game does not have that at all. Guiding the horse with the arrow keys is awful and requires constant correction. The up arrow key is for forward motion, faster speed, AND leaning forward when jumping-all at the same time. You are supposed to use the up and down arrows to lean forward when jumping, then lean back when landing...all while hitting the correct spot to jump. If I am doing all those things I am not watching or enjoying the game at all.
And dressage is even worse. In order to *change gaits* a series of arrows drops over the screen and you are supposed to click your arrow keys at the same time these are constantly scrolling down. It's kind of like playing Tetris. You can barely see the horse at all because the screen is taken up with the silly arrows!
And unlike Equestriad if you go over the time allotted in each event the nasty trainer makes you start over.
This game totally misses the point of a horseback riding game. I played about 45 minutes of the demo and gave up. Glad I did not buy it!
