I really wanted to give this game 2 1/2 stars but I couldn't, so gave it the benefit of the doubt with 3. I'm a great fan of Hidden Expedition, and always interested to try a new game in the series but I have mixed feelings about this one.
On the plus side:The graphics were good and the story was creative and interesting.
On the minus side: Both the main game and the bonus chapter were too short and the puzzles were either too easy or incomprehensible. Some aspects of the story were illogical and some of the tools used to open a crate (or whatever) were just plain daft - no spoilers here, so you'll have to find out for yourself.
The collectibles & souvenirs were only ho-hum and, though I might well play this game again, I now wish I'd waited for the SE.
As always, however, one person's excitement is another persons yawn, so do try it for yourself. It's great that BFG has this feature.
I don't recommend this game.

I have played this game several times and will probably go back to it in the future, so I guess I must really like it! There are a few slightly irritating features, such as the main character giving a running commentary on everything, but otherwise it's an absorbing game.
I don't mind the old-looking graphics - a good game depends on good design and well thought-out puzzles/HOSs, not how many bells, whistles and 'real' actors it contains, in my view. The graphics here are clear and bright and for the most part it's not too hard to find the necessary object parts in the scene (though some are very well camouflaged!)
The storyline is good and flows well and the separate chapters (when Autumn travels from one part of the world to another) make it easy to play the game in short segments when you have only a short time available.
It's quite a relaxing game - the kind I like - and the puzzles require some thought, without being too hard.
All in all, I'm glad I bought this one.
I recommend this game!

I had a lot of fun playing this game, and I've now played it twice.
The graphics and sound were very good and the music (when there was any) was excellent. Trouble was, on my Mac there was no music at all much of the time but that may simply be a problem with my machine.
I found the challenge level just right and enjoyed collecting hints in the form of fairies in each scene.
The storyline was a bit garbled but somehow that didn't matter much and didn't spoil my enjoyment.
Like any other game, it's a matter of personal taste whether one likes it or not. I play games for relaxation, not challenge, and if you like really hard/challenging games, this one may not be your cup of tea. If you like the Renaissance Faire theme, then give it a go.

This game would be fine for a relative beginner but it didn't do much for me, much to my surprise - I love HOGs and am fascinated by mythology. I have downloaded the trial version twice (on different computers) but somehow the game didn't grab me enough to want to buy it. The game lacked that certain something which would have made it absorbing. Pity.
The graphics are a bit flat but that doesn't matter when the gameplay is good. It's great that BFG allows a 1hr. trial of games - try it for yourself and see.

This is an absorbing game, which I will definitely play again, even if it's only to catch all the photo opportunities (some of which I missed the first time around). It does have one major flaw in my view, however - more on this later.
The graphics are excellent - light, bright and clear, the music is pleasant and appropriate and I didn't feel tempted to turn it off, as I do with many games. The mini-games are fun, though there is nothing startlingly new. I particularly like the new take on the HOS, where an array of objects have to be placed in their right places in the scene.
The storyline is a bit of a mish-mash but more or less hung together and made sense in the end. Sort of.
The big drawback for me is that the gameplay is very scattered and bitty, hence four rather than five stars. There are so many tasks which require pieces from all over the place - in some cases, you find a piece at one extreme of the landscape and have to travel to the opposite end to make use of it. I find all that running around very tedious and irritating. The one thing that stopped it being totally intolerable was the interactive map, although even then it needs quite a bit of clicking to get from one place to another.
Nonetheless, it's a good-looking and enjoyable game and would particularly appeal to girls and to people (like me) who freely admit they've never grown up - and don't intend to either. It's really good to have games that are not full of nasties and dark gloomy scenes. It all depends what appeals to you. I reckon it's definitely worth downloading the trial version at least.
I recommend this game!

I found this game very absorbing. The puzzles are all jigsaw-type with square pieces, swapping the pieces to get them in their right places.
The artwork is exquisite and the pictures often have slightly muted colours, increasing the level of challenge (all to the good). The artistic style reminded me of some of the best children's book illustrators. Lovely!
The music is somewhat otherworldly and quite pleasant.
The story is rather rambling but written in a poetic style and this adds to the ethereal quality of the game.
I also liked the create-your-own-puzzle option - a nice touch.
All in all, a relaxing and enjoyable game.
I recommend this game!

Most of what I wrote in my review for the first game in the series (Dominic Crane's Dreamscape Mystery) also applies here so I won't repeat it.
The storyline progresses and comes to a partial resolution but there was no change at all in the style or look of the game. That wasn't really a problem, more of a missed opportunity for the developers.
The music was different from the first game (but I still didn't like it!). I generally turn game sounds down or off, as I find them distracting and/or irritating.
I have played both games more than once and enjoyed playing them back-to-back. Having got used to the relative lack of guidance I also enjoyed the challenge of working out what needed to be done. I did use the skip button once but managed that puzzle the second time around.
All in all, I found this another relaxing game, with enough of a challenge to exercise the 'leetle grey cells' (I also like Hercule Poirot!).
As always, download the trial version and see how you go. The 1-hour trial facility is a great feature of BFG. Thanks guys!
I recommend this game!

There's quite a lot to enjoy in this game IMHO and I found it quite relaxing.
I liked the episodic setup - it's easy to complete just one chapter if time is limited.
As a rule, I get irritated with games that give little or no guidance about what to do (and this one is very thin in the guidance area, as other reviewers have noted) but somehow it was no problem here. Usually it was fairly easy to work it out and when it wasn't, a bit of trial and error did the trick.
I liked the quirky nature of some of the scenes - they are dreamscapes after all, so it's fine that some of the solutions to the in-scene problems are quite nutty.
The graphics have a very dated look but that's not really a problem - it doesn't hamper the gameplay.
I didn't like the music (though at least it was proper music, and wasn't loud and frenetic) but I just turned it down, so that was OK.
It's not an all-singing, all-dancing game with lots of action so wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but if you like puzzles as well as HOS and not too much hand-holding, at least have a go with the trial version.
I recommend this game!

I enjoy marble popper games, but I'm not particularly good at them, so need to work quite hard - I haven't yet made it all the way through even the easy levels of this game, after several attempts!
The physics of this game is (are?) not as realistic as in Bubble Snooker, but it's pretty easy to allow for this and Tonga is more fun, more varied and less frustrating than Bubble Snooker.
The look of the game is very good but I find the 'music' very repetitive - so I turn it off.
All in all, an unusual game but one I find quite addictive. It can be a real thief of time - hence 4 rather than 5 stars!
I recommend this game!

I have played this game many times and keep coming back to it. The challenge factor is good and you really need to be on the ball at the higher levels of the Classic game.
I found the Action game very frustrating as it gets faster and more challenging - the game controls don't work very well. The letters very often don't move when you click and drag them and I have a new, very fast computer, so it's not my computer's fault!
In common with some other reviewers, I find it frustrating at times that the game often registers a short word when you're trying to make a long one. If I'm feeling patient it's OK so perhaps I need to avoid this game when I'm feeling hassled!
In common with many word games, the in-game dictionary can be odd, registering weird words I've never heard of (and my vocabulary is pretty wide) and ignoring perfectly legitimate words.
I played Bookworm as my first word game and that's a hard act to follow. Still, I recommend you try this one if you like word games, and persevere until you get the hang of it.
