I enjoyed playing the game. The puzzles are challenging and somewhat original. The first two reviewers didn't recommend this game and I almost passed it by. However, I decided to try it and it didn't let me down.
I have been playing MCF since its inception and have enjoyed all of them. However, I have missed the earlier, tongue-in-cheek, multi-level puzzles of the earlier era. This new edition offers up a great rendition of those earlier games and is an absolute joy to play.
This has been a long awaited game in the series and I must say, the wait was worth it. Eipix did an amazing job of staying with the Bigfish established tone, graphic excellence, and story line of the preceding games in the series. The puzzles were just challenging enough to make you think but not so difficult that you needed a hint. This is a game that you don't want to finish, you just want to keep playing and playing.
This game was an unexpected pleasure. The graphics are incredible and very reminiscent of Hidden Expedition Smithsonian. The game plays like an old time adventure game and the puzzles and hidden object scenes are challenging. I totally recommend this game.
The storyline on this game was quite unique and very interesting. The graphics were absolutely beautiful. The hidden object scenes were intigrated with the game play and fun to do as well as relevent to the storyline. Most of the puzzles were new and very interesting. I will play it again!!!
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I am a huge Mystery Case Files fan and like many others, I had my detective badge on was ready to play the newest installment. However, due to technical difficulties the game would not play in full screen. Thanks to the diligence of BF tech Tristan I was able to play at about 80% screen, which was good enough for me. At first, I was taken aback by the new look of the game, but as time went on, I began to enjoy it more. I have seen all the negative comments here and do feel that they are not deserved. Shadow Lake is visually stunning, the puzzles are innovative and challenging, and the storyline isn't the usual "save my husband, child, sister, etc. I also loved the addition of the maps because it saves having to run back and forth all over the place. As for the live action, I wholeheartedly prefer that over computer generated robotron people that are in other games. If I have one critique it would be that I missed the old tongue and cheek humor that was so enjoyable in the previous MCF's.
The games has added some unique mini-games and a variety of hidden object scenes. The one complaint I had with previous haunted legends games was too many hidden object scenes. They have reduced the number and the game is fabulous. Great story, a little scary, and cool graphics. I wholeheartedly recommend this game.
