There is a storyline to this HOG but it's not where you have to go back and forth to find items. In other words, you do return to certain places, but not to put down items just to find other items.
Like someone else said, the objects can be small, so I wish they had a magnifying glass so you can zoom in to certain areas.
Some of the HOG are in the format of a puzzle where you have to find two items to make up a word (for example feather and egg to make a chicken). You also have mini-games that lead to cut scenes once you solve them, but you can skip the mini-games if they ges too frustrating.
As far as this being a collector's edition, it's called that because there is a second storyline and there are bonus features such as wallpapers, so it's fine calling it a collector's edition.

Yes, it does copy all of the other HOGs but I thought it wasn't bad. Your objective, besides finding the hidden objects is to also find the dogs and/or cats that are in the scene and also find bonus objects (shown in shadow on the lower left in its own frame. The points you get for finding the objects is used to buy items for your house. You can buy the items as long as you have enough points to buy the object. 10 percent of your score is how many points you have to buy items. Beware though, that when you buy an item, your total points goes down by that much. For example, if you have 115 currency points (1150 points) and you buy something that's 80 points, your total score goes down by 80 points.
What I like about this game, compared to others, is that the hint also points out those bonus objects.
Overall it's a good game if you've got some time to waste.

One of the things that I didn't like about this game is the fact that when you go to the parts where you have to click to open up another scene (the sparkly scenes), the list doesn't show the items that you need to find that are exclusive to that area. It shows all of the items that you need to find from this scene as well as the main scene, so you have to keep on going back, which costs time. I believe that the other versions only highlight the sparkly areas only if the items you need to find are listed already. I ended up deleting it without buying it.

Finding America is a good sort of relaxing hidden object game. Why do I say sort of? As you go through the sites, there are five fun facts about the place you are visiting. However, to get to the fun fact, you have to find a key, which means that you have to replay the scene at least five times. They key isn't always in the same place and it's not always the same type of key, so you have to go hunting around for it, which is why I say you have to play at least five times. What's worse is that the hint and super hint you get does not point you to the key. Overall, it's a good game if you are willing to bypass the fun facts.
You're supposed to help decorate a house for Halloween and the only way to get money to buy decorations is to play the Match 3 and some of the mini-games. The one thing that annoys me the most about this game is (Spoiler alert) when you have things that are behind a silver chains, which are frozen items. The only way to unmelt is to make matches next to the fireball. The problem is that when you make connections, if you're not quick, the fire goes out and you have to start over again to try to make matches. Also, the farther you get from the fireball, the fire goes out, and you have to start over again. You have to be patient with this game, and, after a while, I lost patience. I bought everything, but it won't let you play the collectors edition until you finish the main level (I don't know how many levels there are). I gave up after level 99 and just quit.

I've always been a fan of Hidden Object Games and this one is definitely one of my favorites. What I really love about this one is the fact that there is a storyline, but you go level by level and you don't have to go back and forth between scenes to solve something as much as other HOGs.

Unlike other solitaire games, the object of the game is to collect stars by finding the gold cards. The object is to match pairs rather than go high-low/low-high. Each set of levels has a minimum number of stars you must collect before you can move on to higher sets. It's relatively challenging because the gold cards may be buried in the deck so you have to try to clear the cards above them. You do collect coins by matching them. These coins allow you to purchase shuffle, mulligan (undo), and joker power-ups.
There are two types of games you can play. The Newbie level allows you to redo any level in a set (in case you didn't collect the minimum number of stars) to go to the next set of levels. The pro level only allows you to redo the entire set so even though you may have collected enough stars in levels 1, 2, and 4, but not 3, 5, and 6, you have to start over from level 1.
Overall it's a good game. I'm stuck right now on newbie set 2, but I'm hoping to go farther.
I recommend this game!

I must admit that when I first played the trial, I was kind of bored so I deleted it. Then, I came back to it and I really do enjoy it now.
You play Ruby and you have to go through multiple mazes to collect items which will let you get the ultimate prize.
A couple of things to note (hints or spoilers if you want to call them that):
1. The question mark with the circle reconfigures the maze. 2. There are two types of trap doors. The yellow ones will open and close automatically, so be careful. The brown ones will activate only when you step on them, but, unless you are slow, you can get through them.
Like other reviewers said, if you do drop through the trap doors, you do lose coins but, on the other hand, you sometimes get dropped to a room you've never been before, so you can collect coins.

I discovered this game from last year while I was looking around for any HOP games to play. After reading the first few reviews, I had to give it a go and I'm glad I did.
The visuals, sound, and story are all top notch. I bought it after a few minutes of play.
You are trying to help N'ix after his ship crash lands on Earth. He is here to stop the World Eaters who want to destroy our planet.
If it weren't for the fact that I had to go to bed, I would play this game all night.

If you like doing jigsaw puzzles or just want to waste your time on the computer, this is the game for you.
1001 Jigsaw World Tour is a lot of fun because you have several different pictures you can choose from and they can get pretty challenging, even at the early levels. You get puzzle pieces and you have to put them together. If you get stuck and the board becomes too cluttered, there's an area where you can store the puzzle pieces until you're ready to put them on the main board. Likewise, if you get stuck, there are a few hint types you can choose from. One is the border, where it'll take away all of the pieces except the border pieces. Overall this is a great game and I thoroughly enjoy it.
