I downloaded this game because I had so much fun playing the first one, and I wasn't disappointed. I couldn't stop playing it, even took time off work to finish it! Focuses on Rose Somerset, whereas the first one focuses on Emma, but that was fine with me as the storyline unfolded. Kinda didn't expect it to go the way that it did, and can't wait to play the next one!
As far as the entire game goes, I got the sequel, just because I liked the first one so much. At first, I wasn't really impressed, but the longer I played, the more I found myself trying to find all the clues needed to see what happened to Emma. I knew she was dead, of course, but I wanted to know how. This game actually gave me a bit of a run for my money, simply because sometimes you could have a clue staring you right in the face, larger than life, and other times, that same clue could be tiny. Kept me constantly on my toes, which a game hasn't done in a while.
Being a bit of a musical nut, I purchased this game, and was at first disappointed, since the main characters, Christine and Raoul, are past all of the Phantom stuff. However, once I began playing the game, I discovered that their daughter going through it is fascinating, since she seems to know nothing about the whole fiasco. The game is excellent, my only complaints: too short, and she talks too much. I finished the whole game in 3 hours and 16 mins, including the bonus game after the end of the actual game.
I really enjoyed this game, although my biggest complaint was the shortness of it. It should have been longer so I could continue playing it. Don't really feel like I got my money's worth.
