My review is based on casual mode. You can play timed or casual, so I always like that. I don't like timed modes. I did purchase the game, so I'm not playing a demo. The only thing I had a little difficulty with is when you get to the Match 3 screens, there are like clown faces and masks, and some kinda looked similar (in my opinion) when you are trying to go through Match 3 as fast as you can (even though I don't play the timed option). But I like Match 3 games. This is a mix of Match 3 and HOs, it's both in one. So if you hate Match 3, you won't like this. Or if you are tired of hidden objects (like me), you will get both worlds in this game. I like that. Breaks it up. I'm enjoying the game. So if you like Match 3 you'll like it, if you like hidden objects I think you'll like it. If you like both, you are in luck.
I recommend this game!

Different type game. One of the reviewers explained it well how you click on an item and a circle appears and you have to find all the items that go in that circle, and then it pops up an item to use later. I thought the graphics were great. I always turn down the sound. There was a "skip" button -- I noticed someone said there wasn't but there is. It's just under the puzzle, not over to the side. Took me a minute to see it. I played relaxed or easy. there is a penalty for too many clicks. Lots of bubbles pop up. The "skip" was very fast in easy mode. I did "skip" a lot of the puzzles. I'm just not a good puzzle person. I thought the game was different. Not gloomy, etc. There is a lot to remember because there are lots of circles popping up, and lots of places to go. I purchased the game with a credit. I liked the game. A hard core gamer might not enjoy it as much, but I liked it. And seeing the "dancing skeletons" was very cute. I can't say it's my favorite game. But I have enjoyed it this afternoon, and will continue to play. There is a lot of "conversation" but I just kept hitting to skip the conversation. I read faster than they talk, and that gets tiresome all the conversation.
I recommend this game!

I don't normally play these type of games, but I really enjoyed this one. I doubt I can add anything that hasn't already been said. I have never liked SIM games, but that's not what this one is. It had just enough interaction with the character and his dog, fish, etc., that it was fun. I just loved clicking on the main character to see what he had to say. You have him walk around feed his dog, play fetch with his dog, feed the fish, and all the time you are selling items by going to different rooms and then it's sort of like hidden objects - that were easy to find and each item you click on sells and you make money - then you use the money to redecorate the mansion. You interact inside the mansion - and sometimes out in the garden. I bought a TV for the mansion and when you click on and the TV plays, even saw Royal Envoy 2 on it. Really cute game, and I'd like another one like this. I don't like time management games. This one you don't have to play on a "timer" -- so I was able to sit back, relax, and just have fun. But for those of you that like a timer, I believe there was an option for a timer.
I recommend this game!

Based on demo only. I purchased this game. I like it. The one thing I did discover, that I have not noticed in other reviews, when you click on an item to use another item, you have to put your cursor eye glass on the item, not the item itself. Because of other games I've played that way, discovered it. I knew a particular item had to go on something, and I kept clicking. Finally discovered put the cursor on the item you are trying to place on another item. The lobster is so cute as the "hint" character. The game play is good, voice overs. I played the next step up from casual, but not the hardest. After about 30 minutes of game play I bought this game. I'm able to figure out what to do and the story line helped along those lines. I am enjoying this game.
I recommend this game!

I'm playing the demo but I cannot decide if I like this game or not. Graphics to me are clear and good. Music - I always turn down. As someone mentioned in a review, the hidden objects are so tiny. So to find things I would click on the smallest things I would see, and that would be the item. I agree I don't like hidden objects too easy, but I found on this game the items were just too small. I think the storyline is good, and I understand the story. There is a journal that gives you hints when you get stuck, and of course the hint button. But I found I was constantly using the hint button. I think this is a good game, if you really like a challenge. Maybe it's just me but I found the challenge a little too difficult, and the puzzles. Most of the puzzles I have "skipped" to solve. Again, if you like a real challenge you may like this game. For me, items were too small to figure out without using the hint button -- which did refill quickly. The skip button fills quickly also. So I'm giving it a good review if you like a challenge. For me I have decided not to buy.
I recommend this game!

Wow. I was so bored with HOGs, been played M3s, Time Management, etc. Finally I read everyone's review on this game. I downloaded the demo and within minutes I wanted this game. It is so TOTALLY different than other HOGS. All kinds of combination of things to do, that I don't remember doing in other HOGS. I'm thinking, wow, that was neat. I've been able to figure things out without the Strategy Guide. For me, that's good, but yet it's tough enough for me, I have to think about things. I think this is the best game so far I have played, and I've been a member for over a year. I just love this game. Would love more like this. I am playing the easiest mode, but I like that. It's still tough enough for me to have to think. But the way you find things and use things is so totally different. The storyline makes sense, so I know what I'm supposed to do rather than just wandering around. This is a FANTASTIC game (in my humble opinion)
I recommend this game!

I've played so many games, tired of HOGs, I do like Adventure, but just not that many of them. Been playing M3 games, decided today to try Word games. Ran across Wild West Billy. I'm 60 years old, and this game may seem childish to you, as I thought it was too. BUT, I'm really enjoying it. It's a hangman type game. You can choose a selection of songs, such as the 70's, 80's, 90's, the Beatles, etc. Then the guy puts bottles up on shelves and you have to guess the name of the song for that time period hitting the bottles with your gun. The alphabet is below, so you click on the letters to try to guess the name of the song. You only get so many bullets to try. There are times they make it easier by giving you dynamite that blows up many letters, but I find so many songs I can't remember the names of. Once you get the name of the song right, you move on. You can change any time to other time periods of songs. I'm assuming it may get harder as I go. Yes, it's probably childish, but it's fun. I didn't think I would like it, but my demo time was up, so I decided to buy. The only thing I don't like is you can go in the OPTIONS to turn down the music, but once you start playing the game, the music is loud. I have not found a way to turn it down while playing, though I moved the Options to almost off, it's still loud. That's the con of the game for me.
I recommend this game!

I do not like TM games, but was reading reviews and read that Island Tribe 3 you can set on untimed mode, which I did. I've never really understood TM games, but since this was untimed, and I wasn't so worried about what to do, I had time to figure things out and how it works. I can honestly say this is the first TM game I have liked. I've tried others, but not quick enough to figure them out. I switched from HOG to M3 games, and with this type TM games, I would play more. Again, if you've never played a TM game, it might take a little time to figure out everything to do, and how it works. There was one area I couldn't get any of my "help" to come out of the house. Finally figured out I had to click on an empty spot to start them building. It's funny, I find myself sitting here saying "go get the fish" -- "get the fire out" "hurry up, build a sawmill" - and on and on. So if you've never tried a TM game, this is probably one to try as you can played untimed. The longer I play the more I kinda catch on. But I don't think I'll ever play a TM game that is timed. I'm also the same way about M3 games. I do not like them timed. Now I do find the TM games kinda get my heart rate pumping more, even though it's untimed, because trying to control all these characters is fun. You find yourself talking to them.
I recommend this game!

BlueStarFish gave a great review on this game. I was looking for another M3 like this one. I went through all of them. When I pulled up BlueStarfish's review, I downloaded the demo. Then I bought the game. I have had a great time with this game. Yes, it is kinda timed, and I hate timed games, but if you don't finish a board in time, it just switches to another board, and then another board, and eventually it gives me a "hour glass" as an item to use to allow me extra time. You do build an empire, and I love the little characters and the beautiful building you build. This is not a Time Management Game. I do not like Time Management games, but this M3 allows you to the little characters and interact with them by clicking on them. They don't do much, but it's cute. I would like another game like this. I was a HOG fan, but I just got burnt out on them I guess, so I've been playing M3 games now for a while. I think this game has been out a while, so many of you may skip over it, but if you like strictly M3 games, and yes, it can be timed, but it doesn't worry me, because I know I just go through another board. It's fun. Thanks BlueStarFish for your review.

I've been a member of BF for over a year, and always played HOGs. Kinda got burned out. Switched to Match 3 games, which I've been enjoying. But today I tried Curse at Twilight. I believe I will get this game. It has pieces you have to put together to use to move on in the game. It also has "morphing" type objects. You find coins that earn you hints. There is a penalty for clicking too fast. I did play "casual" mode. I found some objects hard to see, but that's just me. You can turn the screen up brighter. It has a little of everything. Also the coins you earn give you maps to go back to places you've been. I like that. This is a different type HOG and will buy, but right now I want to try Island Tribes 3. Never played that type of game. If you are hooked on HOGs, I think you will like this game. Again, I was bored with them, but this was is different, so a buy for me (later). It is an adventure type/HOG game I guess it's what you would call it. I was tired of strictly HOG. Me and music? I always turn the music down to where I can barely hear it.
I recommend this game!
