It carries an average level of challenge, the special effects are as you would expect for a collectors edition, the mini games are moderate ability and the graphics are acceptable. The soundtrack is those familiar tunes from previous games, there's little to comment on that stands out.
I don't recommend this game.

I think its quite easy/quick to complete for a strategy game as you only have 6 bosses to defeat. The higher the level the more time consuming it is. You are basically trying to create sales and you are trying out 'chance cards' to improve your performance. Its a lot like the "My Life Story" reward cards in idea and the game is made by the same company! The strategy is balancing these on top of arranging the different characters and their abilities, you can train them up to be better at something and assign them anything from research, sales, advertising to motivating other members, which is important, because they all stop working if they arent happy! It becomes a busy game like some of the typical time management ones, as you are multi-tasking various jobs and also trying to make the most of the extra chance features you have. As you hit the sales target you defeat a boss and the sales amount gets higher, but you can research and buy in different products so your income is rising and obviously making this achievable. If you think you are waiting a long time for someone to do a job in the first level or two, dont worry... it wont seem like very long in later levels. Actually, it will go very fast and there are bonuses to make them go faster! The graphics are very plain, the storyline is small, but that in my opinion seems to be a trend for this specific field of gaming. I'd recommend it to any strategy game lover, its the sort of game you could play several times and complete it in different ways. The music is, again, typical, I like it, but like anything... turn it off if its annoying? It took me about ten minutes to get into it, the tutorial is quite clear, but it can take a few minutes to work out your personal strategy. So: Boosting with chances, studying really hard, careful task designation - etc.
I recommend this game!

There's been a lot of comparing this game to 'Life Quest', which I also bought and completed, they are ridiculously similar in places but, the significant difference is the fact this game is clearly very strategic and in my opinion much more challenging. There's no 'quests', you just climb the 'ladder of success' so you do get to progress and choose your 'life story' which it obviously selects based on the kind of jobs you pick, and education major, as you go along. You have to complete courses which take ages in the last few levels, but you can find 'life cards' to help you halve the time. Its similar to cute knight kingdom in that you are sat there waiting for the time to go by at the end.
The game has 4 'happiness' meters, unlike the other games in the genre and it has a clock to keep an eye on, so you have to keep her healthy, amused, full up and energetic to keep completing courses and getting work experience. It really makes sense if you like psychology. Theres a lot of stress management science in it, 'Type A' personality and so on, there's also the sense of if you go dancing its fun but wears you out and makes you hungry which sort of makes you unhappy on another level? It means the key to winning the game is achieving balance. (Also learning how to use money carefully and make the most of lifes little rewards - the life cards).
It will annoy you senseless if you have little patience, no interest in psychology, a need for great graphics to call a game fun, or a gripping storyline!
Leave school, get job start 'proper education' -> find perfect job and go everywhere in the city trying to cheer yourself up as you do! Loads of random events to play about with as you go. I think some board game lovers would like this game because of the air of chance that comes with it and possibly the set up of the main screen.
I recommend this game!

I loved this game. I bought it straight the way and played it a lot and completed it already! The storyline made a change (as others have said), but, if you 'take it to heart' or consider it seriously, its rather weird, then I wouldnt play it! Its creatively designed but the mini games are all the same #although they do get harder#, so if you dont like them the game will get very annoying. Its a mathematical mini game where you are trying to basically 'conquer' enemy cells with yours. I think the game was a bit easy and I know what people mean when they've said the controls are weird. The controls are unique, but honestly not difficult if you give it 5 minutes to faff around with them. They do actually make sense. The graphics were good and it was a very interactive game with lots of video so I think it was worth the price. The storyline ended really strangely in my opinion though, but it was really interesting throughout. The different 'dreams' were all completely unique and it was a 'pretty' game :-) with lots of details I liked.
I recommend this game!

I think the game story provoked my curiousity? It wasnt something that kept me playing for hours and hours going around in circles as you can progress without completing side quests (although they were fun, so I did do them?) and the storyline progressed at a sensible speed...? The soundtrack is interesting in places and the strategy element was fun.
I recommend this game!
