I won't go into the details of the storyline as many others have already done that. This game is the BEST I have ever played. It has all the requirements of a CE, map of areas of interest that will jump to those areas, collectibles and bonus extras. But it also has extras on extras. I did not find the puzzles difficult but they were interesting and fun. The varying types of HOS were also interesting and fun. I have no hesitation on giving this game 5 stars and wish I could give more. I would highly recommend this game and will look forward to more games from these developers
I recommend this game!

What a marvelous game. I cannot find one thing about it that I do not like. The HOS are different and with a variety, lists, sillouettes, pictures and with interactive elements. The mini games are fun, quite easy, but fun. It has everything I look for in a CE these days. Achievements, collectibles (although I keep forgetting to look for the acorns :) and an interactive map. If I could give 10/10 I would. totally 100% recommend.
I recommend this game!

Was thoroughly bored after the first ten minutes but played the full demo to give it a chance. Never been so happy to finish a demo. It is definatley a no buy for me. It is nowhere near as good as the first two. As for it being a CE, can someone tell me WHY!?
It has a strategy guide and bonus play. BIG DEAL. Where are the collectibles? Where is the map? Where is the fun?
I don't recommend this game.

I got hooked on this game after playing the demo (which was only 30min and not the standard 60min). I loved the graphics, clear and crisp. I liked the different style of the HOs and the mini games were quite good too. Unfortunatley I have never been so happy to get to the end of a game. I got totally fed up going back and forth from one end of the game to the other to pick things up. There is NO MAP!
I expect more from a CE. No map, no achievements, no collectibles. With these things it could have gone from a good game to a great game. Disappointed and will probably never play it again.
I don't recommend this game.

I really liked the other Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe games so I had no hesitation in buying this one. Whilst I quite enjoyed the game I would like to know why it was sold as a CE as apart from the bonus chapter there was none of the features that I have come to expect in a CE.
No collectibles or morphing items
No achievements and
No map
It was enjoyable and the doggie helper fun. The HOS were Ok but a little cluttered at times. The puzzles were very good and different but most of them soooo easy a child could solve them.
I would recommend this game but wait for the SE
I recommend this game!

I like to think I am an expeienced gamer even though I prefer to enjoy the games in casual mode. I like Elephant Games as so far they have been of good length and excellent games. However......this is the third one I have played recently (thanks to the sale I bought collectors editions) and all I have to say is thank God for the strategy guides. They have all had the same problems as I am about to describe here. Are these developers just trying to complicate things?
The game itself is stunning. Artwork beautiful and HOS and puzzles great. Story line good. But in a lot of things it was not clear what to do next. Something needs done or put in place but no clues as to what. There were a couple of instances where I would not have thought to use the required items. Also by the time I had finally found the last piece of a puzzle I had forgotten where I was supposed to use it! Just as well there is an interactive map too because there is a lot of going back and forth to place items that you find. I liked the fact that the map told you what needed to be done in the areas. Some of the puzzles, while good and different and interesting, did not have clear instructions and again I had to refer to the guide to clearly understand what to do. I don't want to be told every step, and its good to work things out but, this was just so frustrating.
for the beauty of the game I will give 5/5
for the puzzles 5/5
for the HOS 5/5
for the frustration 5/5
for the enjoyment 2/5 (though this will improve second time round now that I know what to do)
For all the frustrations I did like the game and will recommend it.
I recommend this game!

This game is a variation on Angry Birds and sometimes I like to just chill out to 'silly games' - Super Granny, Royal Envoy, World of Goo, and this has just joined the list. It's fun, frustrating and very addictive. I will be buying.
I recommend this game!

Loved this game. The graphics are gorgeous and the HOS are very clear and not too cluttered. I like the interactive part of the HOS. The puzzles were interesting but I did have to skip two. The journal is informative and the added extra of replaying the video clips is good. Love the transporting map as I get very fed up with a game that has me running back and forth all over the place. The only thing that dissappointed was the ending. It felt that there was more to come but maybe you need the collectors edition to complete the story. I have a number of SE that do this and it is very annoying. Other than that it was a great game, Lots of challenges and good length.
I recommend this game!

Love this game! I love the challenge in collecting the achievements. I love the humour in shooting the bandits for extra hints. The artwork is beautifully done and I love the way the little figures on the map are getting on with their lives. The puzzles are interesting but not difficult. It is just such a fun game.
I recommend this game!

Really enjoyed the first Weird Tale so looked forward to trying this one. Booooooooooooring. Sluggish. Inventory was annoying as it would only appear when it felt like it. The HOS were dull. After 15 minutes I had had enough. Would NOT recommend.
