This game was published by the same creators of the Delicious Emily series. However, I have yet to come across ANY of the characters from any of Emily's long list of family or friends. Parker and Lane are two new characters. Except for Carl. That mouse gets around, and he's in every scene here as well.
Parker is a rookie detective. She has anxiety, but she's very dedicated about her job. This is her first case, and it's a whopper of a case.
Lane is a seasoned defense attorney, and also a single father. The police chief brought him in on the case as a consultant when it was discovered that the victims were his clients.
And yeah, Parker does not like Lane. If anyone ever watched the first season of the television show Castle, then you'll understand the dynamic between the two.
The game play is the same as all of the other games published by this developer. Someone comes in, you place them on the spot where they need to go, they tell you what they need, and you get it for them. When they are done, Lane checks them out, using a clipboard, not a register.
Each person comes in with three hearts, and if you tend to them quickly, they can leave with 5 gold hearts. Some of the inventory items come with mini games as well. Some of them are fairly easy, like picking up liquid with a dropper, and some of them are challenging, like trying to bring a piece of evidence into focus on a tablet computer. The levels themselves range from simple to challenging as well. (Try getting three stars on a level when 5 of your investigators cannot be helped unless they have one star.)
What I do like about this game is that you're not in the same place for all 10 levels of a chapter. You tend to jump around often, but at the end of every chapter, you'll always come back to the precinct.
You can still purchase upgrades with the coins that you earn, and you use your diamonds to uncover evidence to your case files. You can earn more diamonds by playing the daily challenge. You can also earn achievements as well.
If you're a fan of this publisher, then definitely give this game a try. It's a new and unique story with new characters. I highly recommend it.
*** As a side note, if you're like me and you have trouble completing tasks on time while using a mouse, fortunately this developer has made their time management games mobile friendly, which means that they also work very well if your laptop has a touch screen, or if you're playing it on a tablet computer.
I recommend this game!

I've been playing this game for the past several months, and I just now finished it. Even though this game has a storyline to it, it's still a relaxing game to play. You don't have to play it all at once. You can take your time, and still understand the storyline.
You play a young woman who was contacted by a professor. He wants you to go to his home, find his lab, and send him the Arcanesium he has hidden away. The only problem is that this guy lives in a huge home, and you have to search through every inch of the property (inside and out) to find his lab. Along the way, you'll solve several mosaic puzzles and collect clues and objects needed to solve the mini games you come across.
The mosaic puzzles aren't that difficult to solve, and each one contains three different colors. The sizes range from 10 X 10 to 15 X 20, and they vary throughout the game. You do have a hint system, although I never used it. You also have hearts that you'll lose each time you make a mistake. However, if you lose all your hearts, then you'll get another chance to solve the puzzle. And you have to solve the puzzle in order to progress. But you're not penalized each time you have to restart the puzzle.
The mini games are also not that difficult, although the very last one I ended up skipping because I couldn't understand the clues given. With each mini game, you have a three-minute timer that counts down before you're able to skip the game. What I liked most was that anytime you needed to use an object that you found, you'll see it on the left side of the screen. And for each mini game that you need to solve, you'll automatically see the clue for solving it on the right.
With each scene, you'll solve a series of two or three puzzles before you're able to investigate an area of the room that you're in. Each area that you investigate, you'll either solve a mini game, or collect an item that will be used later on.
The story is not a bad one, and it's a mystery story. What surprised me was that it does end on a cliffhanger, so I'm guessing there's a sequel in the works.
For me, this was a lengthy game, with enough puzzles that allowed me to come and go from it as I saw fit. It's a good way to pass the time.
I recommend this game for those who like a good mystery and for anyone who enjoys finding clues, solving puzzles, and creating pretty mosaics.
I recommend this game!

I'll start off saying that many of the 1-star reviews seem to be from people who have played the Mortimer Beckett series in the past and are unhappy with this version. I have never played any of the Mortimer Beckett games, so my review will be based on this game alone.
First of all, I've tried this game on the mobile platform, since the developer tends to introduce their games via both the mobile platform and their own PC gaming site before Big Fish receives the game. I didn't like it on my phone. I haven't tried it on the tablet. However, I find that I prefer it on the PC, especially since I have a touch screen.
I was first intrigued by this game because the developer is more recently known for their Delicious series Time Management games. So, for them to come out with a hidden object game that features a character from the Delicious series, I had to try it out. And it's completely different from the HOGs that I'm used to playing.
I like that the hidden object scenes are very challenging. The items that you need to find are fragmented and very well hidden -- frustratingly hidden. And yes, Carl the Mouse is in every scene as well. (Boy, that sucker gets around. LOL)
The storyline is intriguing, and definitely different from what I've seen before. The graphics fall in line with the Delicious series, so they're nice and clear. The audio is okay, but I usually don't pay much attention to it.
As I mentioned before, this game is very challenging. Many of the pieces that you have to find blend in very well with their surroundings, but you can use a hint if needed. As others have stated, there is no strategy guide, but I don't think one is needed, because once you find the pieces of the items that you need, using the items is pretty straightforward. I mean, you have a lock that you need to open, so you need to find the key. You find the pieces of a box cutter, because there's a taped box that needs to be open.
As with the Delicious series, there are challenge levels where you can earn diamonds. I've only played the first two levels before the demo was over. The first one involved finding all of the silhouetted items within a specific time frame. The second one involved trying to find Carl's ever-growing family of mice (25 relatives). You receive a diamond for finishing the challenge, but if you finish it in the allotted time, then you receive an hourglass as well. I don't yet know if there's any significance to the hourglasses, other than receiving an achievement for getting all of them. There are other achievements to earn as well. With the diamonds, however, you can use them in an auction to purchase really cool museum artifacts.
Having never played the Mortimer Beckett series before, I demoed an earlier game. While I won't go into detail regarding the differences between the two, I will say that I don't recommend playing both Mortimer Beckett games back to back. My brain hurts. While a new developer revamped the series, the challenge level is, in my opinion, of the same level as the older series.
All in all, I found that I do like this game, and will add it to my growing collection of games.
I would recommend this game to those who want a different type of hidden object game. However, to the fans of the Mortimer Beckett series, I urge you to go into this game with an open mind. Yes, it's very different than the previous games, but it's still a good game.
I recommend this game!

Okay, as soon as I saw this game, I had to get it. I was a big fan of the show when I was a kid. A little research dug up revealed that this show was also the last one to have canned laughter, because they didn't shoot the show on a sound stage. It was actually shot on location.
Anyhow, the developers of this game kept as true to the show as possible. Fans will recognize the opening scene when they first introduced the cruise ship staff starting with Captain Stubing. You'll see Julie, Gopher, Doc, and Issac, although they left out Vicki, the Captain's daughter. After the staff, then you'll see the Special Guest stars, in this case Emily and Angela from the Delicious series. And if you're a true fan, you'll find yourself singing the theme song. Yes, they added it to the game in its entirety.
The game, like the show, starts off with Julie and Gopher welcoming the passengers on board. You will also take a cruise around the coast of Mexico, as your first destination is Puerto Vallarta.
Most of the game's story line focuses on the staff and other passengers, although, Emily and Angela do have their own storyline as well. So, just like the show, you have several different story lines going on.
For the most part, game play is pretty similar to others in the Delicious series. However, what's I found different is that you while you do have chapters in this one, they're not separated in groups of 10 like with previous games. You still have the usual 60 levels plus the 30 bonus levels to play, but it's not like you spend 10 levels here and 10 levels there. The scenes are dispersed. And because of that, even though you can still purchase upgrades for each location, you may not make enough for one location before you're moving on to the next one. I do love the look of the map, however. It almost feels as though you're taking an actual cruise along the coast of Mexico.
Another thing that's different that I adore is how you're spending your diamonds. This time, when you collect diamonds, you're purchasing costumes for Carl the Mouse. And with each costume purchase, he'll pop up in the costume during a game level. So, if you purchase a scuba diver costume, then the next level you play, he'll be wearing that costume when he pops up. You'll get an achievement if you catch him wearing all 12 costumes.
Throughout the game, you'll also unlock members of the cast. The majority of them will be unlocked within the first 15 levels. You can unlock others later in the game. With each cast member, you'll be able to read a short bio on them. There are also 20 achievements to earn as well.
One thing I will say is that on both Big Fish and the mobile site that the game first appeared on, many players found the canned laughter annoying. In my opinion. I believe those that found it annoying are probably too young to remember when shows actually had canned laughter. For me, it's nostalgic since shows nowadays are all filmed in front of a live audience. But, like I mentioned before, The Love Boat was one of the last shows in the 80's to use the canned laughter because the show was filmed on the actual cruise ship, and at each destination. The actual ship used on the show has been decommissioned a few short years ago, but the Princess Cruise Lines is still going strong.
All in all, I highly recommend this game for those who remember watching The Love Boat. I also recommend it for those who are fans of the Delicious series and the type of time management games this particular developer releases.
I recommend this game!

I originally tried this game on a mobile platform, mainly because I find it easier to play these types of time management games with a touchscreen. However, I wasn't too thrilled with this particular version.
I'm glad that they updated it, but anyone who's played the Sally games before knows that she was never associated with Emily from the Delicious series. And now, both Emily and Francois are both in this game. Don't get me wrong, I love Emily as much as the next gamer, but she doesn't need to be everywhere.
What I didn't like about this game was how many steps it can take to get some customers out the door. That's even too much for a touchscreen, let alone for a mouse. And the first few levels weren't very easy to get through. I'll admit that Heart's Medicine: Time to Heal was a little more challenging than the Delicious games, but this Sally game is a lot more challenging. So, it may not be for everyone.
I do like the new graphics, though, and the new character styles. I can't really say much about the storyline since I didn't get past the first few levels before I deleted it.
I recommend this game for anyone who really loves a challenge, because that's what you'll get. I also highly recommend using a touchscreen because, unless you're fast, a mouse may not work for you.
I recommend this game!

Once again, another great Emily game as been released. I loved the storyline in this game. It was more realistic, and there were moments where it tugged at my heart. I even had moments of tears.
Fans will remember that in Emily's New Beginning, we were introduced to Paige rather quickly. Now, Paige is about 3 years old, and this time we actually go through Emily's new pregnancy every step of the way: from the time she first finds out, to learning the gender of the baby, to finally "witnessing" her give birth, and then meeting the new addition.
I know many weren't too thrilled with some of the changes that were implemented in this latest installment of the game. And I am one of them. The biggest one for me was the social media aspect. But I did like the idea of the daily challenges. It gives you another way to earn diamonds to decorate the new nursery.
The nursery: This time, you have many more choices to choose from. For each item, you have three designs, each with their own color scheme. So, you can pick and choose however you like. You can go with a feminine theme if you think Emily's having a girl, or with a masculine theme if you think she's having a boy. Or, you can also go with a gender neutral theme like many parents do when they want to be surprised by the gender of their baby.
As far as game play goes, unless you're quick with a mouse with these types of games, a touch screen helps a great deal with speed. Many of the levels are not too difficult to get three stars on, but there were a few levels that I've had to play several times just to get that third star. One feature that is new that I did like is that they added a shop to the map. I like this because if for whatever reason you are unable to purchase an item before moving on to the next chapter, you can go back once you have enough coins and just purchase the item from the shop instead of having to restart a random level.
I really liked the graphics and on my PC they were bright and bold. The music also wasn't too bad, but it hasn't changed significantly since previous installments. You do have to option to turn it off in the Settings menu, though.
As I said before, this game may tug at your heartstrings. It has it's LOL moments, its happy moments, and a couple of moments that may bring a couple of tears. But it's a wonderful storyline, and I think it's one of the best ones so far.
I recommend this game!

FULL DISCLOSURE: My review is based on the mobile game play, which is the same as the PC version.
This game is by the same creators of the Delicious Emily games. And to prove that, you will see Emily for a minute at the beginning and at the end. However, this story is solely based on Amy Cares, a young veterinary graduate. Amy loves animals, but is having a difficult time trying to figure out where she wants to work.
I tried out this game just to see what it was all about, and I was hooked on it. I loved the story line. The main story evolves around Amy and her difficult choice as to where to work. Her grandfather is closing up his clinic in Snuggford because he's retiring, and her best friend wants her to work in New York, where there are lots of opportunities.
We first meet Amy in Snuggford, and then later follow her to New York. She doesn't make an initial good impression on her boss and supervisor, but she does get the job done. And while in New York, she also becomes entangled in a very complicated love life.
The mechanics of the game are the same as the Delicious games. You have customers and other vets who come in with animals that require products or procedures done. At one point, you get to save the life of a police dog injured in the line of duty, but at the same time, you also get to dye a puppy pink. (Yeah, she's not too happy about it either.)
Each level has mini games that range from easy to challenging. You have to complete each mini game quickly before you loose hearts. And if you don't finish it in time, the customer can become very angry.
There are 6 chapters with 10 levels each, plus 5 bonus levels for a total of 90 levels. You do have achievements which may, or may not, be easy to obtain. You also get to purchase upgrades for each level as well.
I highly recommend this game for animal lovers, and also for anyone who enjoyed playing the Delicious games as well. This was a great game with a wonderful story and a happy ending.
I recommend this game!

I will admit that when the first Beyond game came out, it didn't interest me at first, because I wasn't that much into science fiction. But then I played it, and I was hooked. So when this second one came out, I purchased it without playing the demo. I finally got around to playing it, and I have to say, in my honest opinion, it has surpassed the first game.
Granted, the premise of the story is the same as many others. Kid gets kidnapped and it's up to mom to save him. But that's where the similarity ends. Mad Head went to infinity and beyond in this game.
First of all, if you're into list-type HOGs, then you might be disappointed. There aren't too many of those. But as usual, Mad Head got a bit creative with their HOGs. The first one, in a roller coaster no doubt, is in three sections, and you are choosing a series of different galaxies, stars, and other celestial objects.
Most people don't like helpers in their games. Mad Head got creative with that as well. You have two helpers in this game. The first one you find on Earth, and later you return him to his owner. The second is a person who can create portals for you when necessary.
Mad Head games have never been excessively challenging, but this game, like all the others, is still very engaging. It's very simple to complete the main game in less than four hours, but the extras make up for that as well. I've always enjoyed the jigsaw puzzle, and the huge HOG that I'll replay over and over again just to try to obtain at least 2 stars, if not 3 on it.
As usual, the graphics of this Mad Head game are superb, and the music is appropriate. The voice acting is pretty good and yeah, mom is almost convincing when she's mad.
I have played every Mad Head game, except one, and I've enjoyed them all. So, yes, I fully recommend this game, especially the CE version.
I recommend this game!

***DISCLAIMER***
This review is based on the mobile version.
This is MadHead's first Indie game. They created this game and released it on a separate platform prior to releasing it on BigFish. That said...
This game is definitely unique. If you have played every MadHead game that BigFish has released, then you're familiar with their game play and all the extras you get.
This game blows all of that out of the water. First, there are no collectibles, no morphing objects, and no bonus chapters. Second, you have the "gift of sight" that comes in handy when looking for clues. Third, you get to use a gun. However, this is not a first-person shooter game. The gun is used only when necessary. I also noticed that there aren't any traditional hidden object scenes in this game either.
The story is told in the style of a graphic novel. It's definitely a different story than what you're used to getting from MadHead. The graphics are rich and perfectly dark enough to set the mood. The audio isn't too taxing or annoying, and just right as well.
I will admit that when the game was originally released on mobile, there wasn't even a strategy guide available, despite having the guide button in the game. So, I'm hoping that one has been included in this version. But that was another thing that I found intriguing: you were totally on your own.
Given that this was MadHead's first Indie game created outside of BigFish, I'd say they truly surpassed themselves this time around.
I highly recommend this game, especially for mystery lovers.

I can remember beta testing this game. When I first saw that it was a Match 3 game, I was prepared for the usual. However, this one surprised me.
First of all, the Match 3 board isn't just on one screen. It moves around. That was definitely new for me. secondly, there are keys that you have to free to unlock parts of the board. Once a board is completed, you have a bonus board that you have the option to complete.
Each time you complete a certain level, you earn game currency to purchases upgrades to a castle for your character.
And that brings me to the story line. You play a young man who is a childhood friend of the princess. However, as an adult, because you were born a commoner, you are unable to marry her. So, you go off to war and amass riches. You come back, and you have to prove your worth to the queen before she allows you to marry her daughter.
The visual quality for me was an excellent one. The graphics were great on my system, and the scenes were rich in color. As far as the sound goes, the music wasn't too different that what you would hear from other games that feature royalty.
I do believe the game is a lengthy one because I don't recall ever finishing the demo during beta testing.
Overall, this game is a definite buy for me, and I highly recommend it to those who are fans of this game genre.
I recommend this game!
