Lovely little game for either beginners to the genre or for those of us looking for something to kill time with. I thought the graphics were bright and lovely, no voice overs and enjoyable mini games. Those were the pluses. Now the minuses - I'm guessing the devs speak english as a second language? Very confusing finding things sometimes - 'Lid' is actually written as Lead! "Uncover the lead cellar" was actually an instruction for one mini game. Plus, the story began that it was your grandmother who was found as a baby in this far off mountain land but everyone your character meets says things like, 'Hey Princess! You're back!" so, confused yet? This story has great potential, lots to do, played the majority of the demo (14 mins remaining) but even though I like non-brain busting games, this was way too easy even for me. I would recommend, but for children or - as I said before - beginners.
Oh, and for those of you who prefer puzzles to HOGS - this would be a great game for you! I encountered at least 10 mini games vs. 3 HOG scenes.
Whilst I love adventure games, I admit I don't really enjoy HO scenes when they are just picking words from a list because I get bored and my mind wanders. This game! Oh! This game is fantastic because it's a 'put things where they belong' type HO and next to fractured HOG (think Dark Parables series) this is wonderful and makes you think a lot more!
The graphics are wonderful, bright and cheery and crisp and clear! I could go on in this vein for hours but I don't want to bore you! Game is a very decent length (approx 5-6 hours for me as I did not skip all the time which I tend to do) Immediately after completing the game, I played it again as I had missed out on collecting two of the animals to photograph (this is only in the CE version) which also has a bonus chapter - not played that yet - as I wanted to redo the main game. Excellent mini-games/puzzles in this, not many (if any) I've seen before, definitely makes you think but not so difficult that I would automatically reach for the skip button.
I will be keeping an eye out for more from this developer and if it's as good as this one, would probably buy it without testing first! A beautiful rendition of the Cinderella story, which whilst this premise may have been done to death, this game makes it feel brand new again.
I admit, normally I play the whole hour before making a recommendation but I only played for 12 minutes and then gave up completely. My first complaint is that apparently my brand new computer with an OS Intel 3 operating system is not good enough to put into High Definition mode (what would be, the NASA space station?!) which immediately put me in a grumpy mood as the graphics were very, very, grainy and cartoonish without HD. I have played cartoonish games before on multiple occasions that are clear, crisp and wonderful but not this one. I usually play with the music on but this one I switched off after 2 minutes as it was loud (even on quiet) and really annoying!
The actual game itself seems to be too much handholding and the little gingerbread man that helps you has an extremely loud, high pitched and annoying voice that talks WAY too much! The game is not linear in that *spoiler alert* if you have a metal door handle that is covered in honey, the obvious thing to do in my mind is to fill the sink and wash it off. Not so. In this game apparently it's far more logical to put it onto a metal pan and melt the honey off of it, collect it in an oven mitt and then put it in the sink...of course! What are we to do with the honey on the actual door as I don't see that fitting in the pan or the sink.
No, sorry. Not a buy for me. It actually made me feel like I was getting dumber by the minute and slightly insane to boot.
Usually I play a game for at least the full hour, but as it was so awful I only played for 20 minutes. There seemed to be 3 out of 4 possible games to play and each time you solve either a hidden object scene (dark and grainy picture scenes) within the time limit of 10 minutes, a spot the difference picture scene or match the cards scene - all within 10 minutes - all accompanied by the most dreadful, brain-killing music of all time. The only game I would have loved to play would have been the rotate the squares to form a picture game but I never made it to that one!
Compared to the excellent hidden object games we have nowadays, I would assume that this was one of the first made and would make excuses for it if this were the case but overall, I would not play this for all the tea in china.
I don't recommend this game.

To be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this game in the beginning, the mouse movement wasn't the best (though, in fairness, I think this is more my older PC than the game itself). There are loads of HO scenes in this game, as someone who prefers more adventure than HO scenes, this was a little tedious. That aside, the story line and voice overs are fantastic!
The game is fun, but you don't get to explore much on your own, you are very guided by the game itself. Overall, I think that it's well worth buying - even the collectors edition (which gives an extra 2 hours of gameplay). My game total time was almost 7 hours (plus, I skipped a lot of the mini-games!) so may last for a few days if you play all and skip none.

I bought the CE edition of this game and the only bad thing I have to say about it, it's not worth paying the CE price as the only bonus is screensavers and something called 'Free Mode', no extra chapter as I originally thought. The great things about this game is that it's wonderfully done, inventive mini-puzzles that make you think #puzzles, untangle strings to name a couple# and great storyline. I consider myself a seasoned gamer and I still got stuck a few times but not enough to get frustrated! Definitely worth the play - and I've played it quite a few times.
I recommend this game!

I initially wasn't expecting much in this game but I stand convinced and corrected! Brilliant graphics (great for those of us whose computers can't go the distance with large games#, good and realistic voiceovers #not too many of those#, non-annoying music #I didn't switch it off, which is saying something). I've played tons of these HO games and I have to say that I even skipped a few of the mini games they were that clever!
