The past few titles in this franchise were bad, so I was dubious and got the demo at first....Well for once they got it right with the color palette ! All browns and greys and kaki greens and that works for me in the creepy department ! I like the HO'S, one especially going back and forth drove me nuts,the puzzles were challenging, the characters were not annoying ,I like the destroyed creepy decor and the music. Morphing and collecting was good. A very pleasant surprise ! I am going to play it again!
Something terrible lurks in the halls of Iron Gate Asylum…

It was different, the characters were good, good female representation as strong lead. They did new kind of HO's which were fun like the wash machine which was great !!!
I have played this game before and i did not find it too scary or creepy, kept you on hedge though ! I like creepier and scarier, but I like this game a lot....They worked hard, It is nice to play a modern game away from the 18 th Century creepy villain in a castle with the damsel in distress ... The old "escape from Ravenhearst" though is still my favorite for creepiness and madness.....Insane asylum is still my favorite venue for games....Just realized I forgot to collect the morphing items, back to square one, I am gonna give it another go and better my score !

Ok, a tad short, but Very solid game. Excellent, different HO's ! Challenging puzzles, hard and casual. Loved the train action ! Not CE because too short, but they respected the franchise. Women kicking butts, for a nice change !!!! 21 st Century game ! Bonus HO'S and puzzles are a great addition to the game.
I will play it again to get a better score.

I have played this game too many times. I like the strong female caracters but as usual too many demons....Graphics are excellent, they did a great job, but the story has been so overdone, from the plane crash to climbing mountains, been there done that !
I had trouble staying with it, but I made myself continue because it is 115 degrees outside here, so options are limited ! Too Indiana Jones for my test....I would like a wicked psycho sick game for a change, those demons don't do it for me anymore...

I wised up and tried the demo first. Thank god ! I thought it would be steam punk, spelunx style,Jules Verne, but it was just too many characters and too much talking and I could have cared less about what was happening !
I don't recommend this game.
Not all fairy tales are just stories…

It has nothing to do with the Surface Franchise which lately had been watered down quite a bit almost to nothing..... This is as one of the reviewer mentioned more like " dark parable " It is still contemporary, with trips to fantasy land, which is cute. Good characters over all. A very pleasant game. I miss the old original surface which was sureal and bizarre. This is more magic land. It is a good solid game, good HO's and puzzles....
My question is why not go on with the old Surface, it was great stuff and had a great following just as Ravenhearst ! Again a bit too much Disney style going on lately...

Creepy in an artful way, well designed, beautiful graphics, great creepy music,it goes on and on, a nightmare to love ! Ho's are very different and challenging, puzzles also are very artful.Lots of items to collect, cornupia, galaxies, puzzle pieces, birds and color paint. It is a great game, one of the best this 2016 so far !
I will play it again, I did not collect enough stuff, and being older it takes me time to complete it all ! Love this game !

Once in a while there is a good one, and this one is very good !
Puzzles are challenging, Ho's are different, we got morphing, and above all an interesting end of the world story. It is an engaging game, you want to stay with it. It is an intelligent game. It is modern, as for once we are not in the 18th Century with purple black smoke,in a carriage, trying to rescue some damzelle in distress locked in a cage. I am tired of damzelles in distress, I want to see 21 st century women in charge kicking butts !!!!

I stayed with it the entire way, enjoyed the HO's and the puzzles which were very good. I enjoyed the story and the dragons, it was charming and fun. Loved the morphing and collected the eggs dutifully.
I had fun, rare these days of bad games that go nowhere , I enjoyed the villain very much !

I lost interest after 30 minutes, started to click the hint button nonstop....Not creepy, tedious, another witch with smoke, tired of witches....Lately it has been slim picking as the developer do not know how to make a creepy game..... What gives ?
I have vivid memories of the old "redemptions" and it was great and creepy. It is the quality of the color dial which kills it for me, too bright, too purple.....almost Disney like these days...
