Wow! That trial was over very quickly - 14 minutes including loading and doing the instructions.
It appears overly simple for experienced gamers, perhaps this is aimed at a much younger audience for whom it would appear challenging. I expected the 'trial' (demo) to get more difficult as I went through the levels but there was no noticable difference. The graphics also appear to be aimed towards a younger player, clear and simple, not fussy and complicated.
The storyline is good, very similar to other, more advanced and challenging TM games. Perhaps a starter game to introduce young players to the TM genre.

I think this game is so different from the games we're normally presented with that we get into a gaming comfort rut. I stopped the trial after 12 minutes but I'll go back when I'm not so tired (just got in from work) and give it another go. You never know, I may find that cork!
I like the graphics - it made a change from the dark and gloomy to have lovely bright colours and clear drawings. I didn't like that there was no tutorial. This game is very different and a tutorial would have been a good idea, just to help people get going and not give up on it too early.
If you love games that challenge your way of thinking then this is the game for you. If you like a little more direction and structure in your games then I would suggest you avoid this one.

The developers have definitely thought about this new release. I bought this without playing the demo and when I started level one I wondered if I'd made the right decision. I couldn't get on with the sliding screen so that got switched off - much better. Floating islands instead of being on a solid surface, no guaranteed farm, sawmill or gold mine - thankfully the resources seem to refill much quicker than previously. You're going to need them.
I have found this release much more challening than the previous games. You can't always see where you can build the next bridge. When you're trying to gather enough resources AND find your route AND keep an eye on the time bar AND remember what you still have to do you definitely have to keep your wits about you. Level 6 in chapter 2 was the first level I failed to get gold straight off and when I did it was very tight on time. There's not much time to sit and think what you're next move is going to be.
If you're new to this series or TM games in general then I would suggest starting with one of the other three games. You may need the experience of how the game functions before you get to this one.
After my initial misgivings I love this game. It's going to be another one that I play over and over. Thank you developers for another great game.
I recommend this game!

I didn't bother with the demo, just went ahead and bought the game :). I had high expectations and have not been disappointed.
As usual, another great game in the Royal Envoy series. Lovely graphics and music perfectly suited to the game. The storyline is great and I'm glad the developers have come up with something original - again - not just a re-hash of the previous stories. The gameplay has changed but only slightly; enough to keep it interesting and more challenging but it's still familiar.
I've just finished the Floating Islands level and I love the new rabbit holes. I just hope I can keep tabs on how many workers I've got on which island. I'm also wondering at which level it's going to get really difficult and I have to take many attempts to get three stars - it's getting earlier with every new RE.
Cedric, as usual, is a great character and nicely joins all three games together. It's also good that they've managed to keep the same voice for the King in the voice-overs.
Judging by the 'screenplay' when exiting the game I'm really intrigued to see what's coming up. I don't think my other half is going to get much sense out of me until I've finished this game, and done the expert mode, and done the bonus levels. I do hope there will be more in the series and the developers can think of another original story as I really enjoy RE. I still go back and play the other two fairly regularly, the HO/puzzle games don't really get a look-in nowadays.

This is a lovely game if only for wasting some time when you don't want to think. It's also a great game for children. The mini games range from easy to deceptive. The match-3 boards take a little getting used to and I thought it was going to be a very simple game - wrong! The boards definitely get harder as you go through the levels. I loved the graphics and the music. Simply delightful.

Viking Saga is a standard TM in the same vein as Kingdom for a Princess and Roads of Rome with similar challenges. I really liked the extra challenges supplied by the locals the characters came across. It added an additional dimension not seen in other similar games. I liked the speed of gameplay - I wasn't waiting ages for supplies and the characters moved faster than in other similar games.
BFG, if the developers bring out second game please, please, please ask them to include a button to switch off the voices. I enjoyed the game very much except for the, "I am on it", " I am on the road", "It is done", every time you give an instruction. It would probably have been better if the voice-overs had been on the character/local interactions instead of the tasks.
If you can live with the incessant voices then the game is very good but I won't be buying this one simply because of them. I only played the demo for 15 minutes and I'd had enough.

I thought there was going to be too much dialogue but I was wrong. There's enough to keep the story going but not too much that it gets tedious. I only played the demo but I liked the variation on the HOs and there weren't too many of them although some of the objects have been hidden rather well. There was a nice mix of puzzles to solve - some a little more difficult than others. The graphics are what I would call gentle, no really bright colours, nicely drawn and not too dark. I definitely liked it and, although it's not a CE, it's going on my wish list of future purchases.

If this game is intended for adults then sorry BFG, it fails miserably. I finished in 43 minutes - and that was after clicking on the 'continue' button to see if there was extra game play.
If this is for children then, depending on age, perhaps it's okay. The hidden object scenes were very simple though, even for a child and there is no storyline to speak of.
I normally like these games straight off but I'm really not sure about this one. It's a nice game, nice graphics, alternative style of HO (definitely liked that) and a decent story line. My indecision about the game stems from the fact that there was so much running around. I actually forgot about the story at one stage and had to go back to the journal to remind me what my goal was. Some of the puzzles were very easy, others needed a little more thinking about. Also, there were an awful lot of cut scenes, possibly too many. For me, they detracted from the game and caused it to lose the fluidity the game needed. I've never used the guide so frequently or clicked the hint button so much - and that was in the casual mode. I would recommend this game but perhaps not the CE version. I'll have to think about it for a while.
I loved this. I've only played the trial but I'm definitely buying this one.
Outstanding artwork and unusual gameplay. You have to actually think with this game. The hint is so polite, he's cute and the rooster is a completely different way of getting to objects that are out of reach.
If you like HOG and puzzles you'll love this game.
