If you are new to this type of solitaire, give it a try. I only played the first seven hands and was bored to death. The graphics and sound are excellent, but there was absolutely no "mystery" to keep me interested.
This game started with a very good intro and it drew me right into the game. I loved the ghosts popping out at unexpected times giving me the thrill I always enjoyed about this series. Then it went it went straight down hill from there. The loading on every scene, hidden object, or puzzle became very annoying. The dialogue was also very tedious. Having to click on the conversation to continue when they keep getting interrupted. Just make it a cut scene and don't put us through the agony of clicking continue. Maybe they did this to extend the time actually playing. I don't know. I couldn't finish the demo.
To make a long story short. I got bored very quickly. This game is not up to the standards that I expect from this series.
Might be great for a beginner, but not for me.
This is only my opinion, so you may like it if you at least try it.
So bad, that I forgot I played the collectors edition demo.

This game is so bad that I put it out of memory and had forgotten I play the collector's edition demo. Game play is way to easy and the dolls voice, painful to the ears. Hopefully, I put this experience behind me and move on. Just like the series should do. Move on and make way for better games.

I agree with all of the positive reviews so far. The hidden object scenes have a nice variety as well as the puzzles. This is a very good game.
The only disappointment for me, are the extras. The bonus game was only a small prequel to the main game. The other extras that we have been accustomed to were also not there (i.e. wallpapers, screen savers, music tracks, videos, etc).
I do recommend this game, but only as a SE. If it wasn't for the sale this weekend I would have been even more disappointed.

Sure this game is difficult. But for a Hidden Object game, I found it fairly decent. Did I skip some puzzles? I sure did. Especially those that have to do with colors (I'm color blind). So if I'm color blind and can still play and enjoy all the challenges that this game offers, I just don't what else to say but I recommend this game.
Oh, did I mention I played the entire game and still had hints left?
Challenge yourself in the role of the scientist-historian-scholar of ancient civilizations and mystical legends and save your friend from the Demon of Darkness!

This review is based on completing the entire game. I loved the story line, graphics were great and really enjoyed the voice overs.
The HOG scenes were uncluttered. Easy navigation throughout the whole game.
Now for the BAD. I was very dissappointed in the Bonus Chapter. It was TOO EASY and very short. The bonus chapter only confirms what you already learn in the main part of the game. For example: you already know 2+2=4, then why search for another answer. The bonus chapter failed big time.
I reccommend this game as a standard edition, but not as a collector's edition.
My loss, but maybe your game if you wait for the SE
I loved the Black and White cut screens. Voice over was not important to me since this game was not previously released as a CE.
The story is what really makes this game. The HOG scenes are pretty simple and the puzzles were fairly easy also. Like I said, its the story. I just couldn't stop until I finished and I am looking forward to the next installemnt.
I think this is a fantastic game for a beginner and also a fun one for more experienced players.

Overall the graphics and voice overs were nice. A lot of challenges. The strategy guide and help in the Bonus Chapter is another story. The strategy guide is incomplete, and the help system tells you to check your diary or inventory to continue. Very dissatisfied with the Bonus Chapter so I do not reccomend this game as a CE.
The main game was very well done and the help and strategy guide were helpful.
When it comes out as a Standard Edition I will reccommend it.

The Scruffs:Return Of The Duke is the most enternaining game I have played in quite some time. Very nice story line with excellent graphics and the humorous dialogue. Kept me laughing all the way through.
If you are tired of the norm, give this one a shot. I'm so glad I did.
This review is based on completing the entire game. I found the graphics and sound very well done. I really enjoyed the cartoonish style graphics and the humorous dialogue. The puzzles were different and somewhat challenging. I particularly enjoyed the formula puzzles.
The ending is the only reason I give this game 4 stars instead of 5 stars. But, that is just me.
Overall, its still a very well done game and I reccomend it for anyone who enjoy old fashioned type adventure games.
