This is the kind of HO and detective skills game I love. There's lots of play (you get your money's worth) but events chug along nicely. Most of the items in inventory get used up quickly which I like rather than holding onto them so long, you forget completely what's going on (for those who have to interrupt their game playing often). Finding the HOs was different, the mini games and puzzles along the way were very inventive and fun but do-able. Eipix is quality games and this is certainly up to their standard.
I love the Jewel Quest games and this was not a disappointment. It seems we're back at the beginning because Emma is consistently choosing the wrong guy but.... There is a nice balance of HO and board games. I found one of the additional games challenging - trying to get the water to stop so that the big rock would drop. And the hints were no good. But that's what I like about JQ - they're never boring. I finally figured it out - spoiler alert - keep putting the pipes in different places until Eureka!
I liked this game; worth the money when buying on a special promo offer. The HO scenes are cluttered (not unusual in most HO games) but this makes finding items more difficult. I don't mind that; this is, after all, the purpose of the game. My graphics were great and I liked the different scenes. Enjoyable!
I recommend this game!

For a no-nonsense HO game, this fits the bill. It's fun, liked the graphics. doesn't need to be War and Peace. If I like a game, I look to see if there are others by the same company. I will definitely buy the other Becky Brogan. It's worth the money for a fun, quiet snowy afternoon.
After inheriting an old antique shop, Emily discovers an odd diary that seems to contain a number of clues as to the book's origin. As she delves deeper into the mystery, what she uncovers will change her forever.
You will love this game. Very "Victoriana" in feeling; lovely graphics. I am a HOG lover and thought this was a fun game. Perhaps the other hints about setting your resolution may help. I had no problem and would play this game over and over. That, to me, is worth the money.
I love PC games that bring a favorite book or character to life (if done well). I would say this is done very well; interesting as an HO game; just fun and relaxing on a day when you want to kill a few hours effortlessly. The graphics are nice and even if you know the story line, that won't spoil anything for you. Worth the money - just plain fun.
I am more partial to HO games than match 3 although there are some match 3 I play over and over. But this wouldn't be one of them. I didn't find it challenging enough and there wasn't enough HOs to stay my interest throughout. The graphics were very nice; pleasing to the eye to play. I would recommend this game to Match 3 lovers but probably not HO lovers.
I recommend this game!

Love Agatha Christie and have read all of her 80+ novels. Now, to have some of them incorporated into a PC game so that I can gather clues along with Hercule and help him solve the mystery is great fun. I am an older woman so that scenario appeals to me. I question whether my grandchildren even know who Agatha is and they've probably never read any of her mysteries. So when reading a review, these things should be taken into account. For me, this was the ultimate in HOG enjoyment.
I liked this game; well worth the money. But I always qualify my reviews with the fact that I am 70+ years and easier to please. I love HO games and this was very well done and much fun. I especially like games set in places where I have been; it somehow makes that more interesting to me. Graphics were good. If you like HO games, colorful, fun extras and not too much of a strain on the brain, I would recommend this one.

I am 70+ so my reviews should be taken with a grain of smalt. I loved the idea of an aging woman outsmarting her policeman son (although I do have some shaky thoughts on the Italian police). I liked the graphics - the puzzles were easy but not too - HOs were fun - it was colorful. Had problem with the truth serum in that you have to hit the right spot at the top of the pot to make ingredients go in but I consider this minimal. Had fun on an afternoon I didn't want to strain my brain.
