I enjoyed this game quite a bit! I am not a fan of the fairy tale games with animal characters, princesses and such, so this "scary" ghost story was a good choice for me. As some have mentioned, this seems a bit short to be a CE game, however, the artwork is very well done, the integration of the mini-games was well done, and the mini-games themselves were fun. I played with no sparkle hints and I got about 5 hours out of the game plus another hour for the bonus game at the end. There were a few faults with the game, but they were so minor, and the game so well done that they did not bother me. The developers appear to all be Russian, and it looked like the full-motion characters were speaking Russian or another language while the English voice-overs were running. The little girl kept looking at the camera during her scenes when she should not have. And, there were occasions when the ability to combine objects from inventory for use could have been part of the game, but instead, once you used one of the needed objects, the others automatically got applied too. Overall though, I do not regret buying this game. I would not pay full CE price for it, but it is worth more than the regular game member price by a buck or so!
For any parents interested, I would rate this around PG since it was not really scary, and the bonuses at the end are very much geared toward children, such as "buying" things to dress a doll in the motel gift shop. A lizard loses his tail, and the scary thing is just a dark swirling cloud. I cannot really think of anything objectionable, even for the younger kids between about 7-13. Have fun!
I absolutely loved this game. I played the regular, non-CE version, and I wish I had purchased the CE version just for a little extra length. The game was fun, and the graphics were stunning. The mini games were just challenging enough, but not hard enough to slow down the flow of the game. I absolutely adored the whole steam punk theme!
You came to the town of Brownville, Louisiana hoping to find a new job. But you weren't expecting to stumble upon a strange adventure in a world filled with beauty and danger!
I normally do not like games with cute characters and more fantasy elements, but this game held my interest completely. Everything about it was entertaining and interesting. I am not a long-winded reviewer, so I apologize for not providing details, but I would say that even if you normally like the darker games like I do, you will still enjoy this one. It is challenging.

Just meh! This was not a bad game, and it was not a good game. It was just so-so. What really spoiled this game is just what some other people have mentioned. The incessant back and forth, back and forth running around between a location to search for clues and going back to the psychic (hated those puzzles in her head). It was just a find some pictures, do a few HOS and head back to the psychic to pick up more pictures. Snooze.
