fromLooking for the perfect Christmas gift for that “special person” you wish would keep their distance from you? Then think about a Capsule Nexus 2000. You will find yourselves “virtually worlds apart” from each other.
6 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER - REVIEW BASED ON THE DEMO PLUS CHAPTER 3
OVERVIEW: Welcome to the next evolution of Virtual Gaming - the Capsule Nexus 2000. Wow! What a fabulous 5-star game! In this futuristic glimpse of a virtual reality, players are disappearing or becoming comatose after entering imaginary game worlds. You will play a newbie virtual detective off to locate your friends, seemingly taken prisoner by the game itself! As you traverse the various virtual worlds, you will find yourself dealing with the Dark Lord, a mastermind behind the games who seems to be turning these virtual worlds into virtual nightmares. Deal with his minions, the Black Queen and her alter ego, a young girl, Naya, who seem to be tied to the inventor of the Virtual World game system – Victor Stein. Watch out – Do not end up eliminated from the game!
I have been looking forward to this game! I LOVE this game and it was an automatic purchase for me. This is a sci-fi masterpiece. The story explores the consequences of a virtual gaming world gone amok. The graphics well depict the possible dangers of a not-to-distant world of virtual reality in not only gaming but in other aspects of life as well. Both the HOP scenes and the puzzles are creatively designed. I have been anxiously awaiting this game. I purchased this game not only for the great storyline; but also for the magnificent puzzles.
HOP SCENES: In the demo the HOP scenes contain the usual silhouette scenes and lists of items. There are a couple of mini-HOP scenes in which you locate a small number of one item. There is one multiple-step HOP scene which we have seen in other games.
PUZZLES: Exquisite! They vary in both variety and difficulty. In the demo there are two easy breezy puzzles which include a jigsaw puzzle involving a stain-glass window and a sequence puzzle to light up a fallen Christmas tree. There is a modified old chestnut – the “foxes and hens” puzzle with the characters replaced by people and reapers. You must switch the position of the people and reapers on opposite shores of a lake by rowing them across the lake in a boat. However, you cannot leave any person alone with more than one reaper.
ITSY BITSY SPIDER: My favorite puzzle involves an @spider.com finding his way off the “web.” A simple click of a mouse will not suffice. This spider must maneuver his way off this web by creating a complex path. This will prove to be a tricky little venture as you lead him to a metal claw awaiting him at his final exit. Chomp!
OTHER PUZZLING DELIGHTS: There is a mathematical puzzle used to close a reaper’s hand in which each finger represents a number. You must total 27 by closing the fingers in correct sequence. There are two pipe puzzles in the demo. In one you create the physical appearance of your character by linking polygons so each link is connected to another link. The other pipe puzzle contains three tubes in which you create paths for liquid to move from the top to the bottom. Finally, choose between several answers to answer some cryptic clues.
AFTER THE DEMO: Chapter 3. So awesome (well at least to me)! Enter a virtual world of a space ship in an adventure which is out of this world! Look out for space monsters as you demonstrate your mechanical aptitude in navigating more great puzzles and HOP scenes. Chapter 3 has a top-notch “a-maze-ing” puzzle not to be missed!
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, and Custom Hints and Skips: 15 to 90 seconds
EXTRAS: Map is provided as you play the game 9 Achievements. Some have 3 or more parts Collect Flowers to unlock a Secret Room. They are very easy to locate Collect 12 figurines well-hidden within the scenes. Replay HOP scenes and Puzzles Strategy guide - 50 pages 12 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art, 2 Screensavers, Music

BREAKING ALL THE RULES, EIPIX PRODUCES ANOTHER EPIC MASTERPIECE

fromTime to put on my “gaming glasses” to increase my “insight” and “brain power” in locating clues, solving puzzles, keeping track of time, and avoiding Meredith at all costs.
7 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER. DEMO BASED ON DEMO DUE TO THE ENORMITY OF THE GAME
OVERVIEW: Keep a stiff upper lip and remember - “No one breaks the rules!” You are off on another assignment at the behest of the Queen in this 5-star plus game. A fellow agent, George Pritchard, is missing. His last known sighting was at the historical Huxley boarding house. Loosely based on reality shows dealing with the paranormal, find yourself in this house with a cast of suspicious characters. Become engulfed in a maniacal, obsessive compulsive world of time, clocks, where residents must adhere to a strict time schedule. As you look for your fellow agent, beware the menacing presence of the former owner, Meredith Huxley, a ghostly apparition who insists on complete observance to this time schedule.
This game does not disappoint. It is another masterpiece in the BFG flagship series! It is a testimony to this developer’s “obsessive” amount of time and talent involved in creating this well-constructed enigmatic game. It has an excellent pace, realistic graphics, well-written suspenseful story, and HOP scenes and puzzles galore. This puzzle-intense “who-is-behind-the-mystery” game will keep you engaged. It was an automatic purchase for me and well worth the price.
BE VIGILANT! Clues abound in this game. Play slowly! You do not want to miss important clues throughout. You will need to pay attention to your environment,( both people and objects) to solve some of the puzzles in this game. There is no hand-holding in this game. You collect morphing objects and play a variation of a shooting game to collect tokens. You collect tokens to open the game extras. Included in “the price” of staying at this boarding house, is access to a “van cave” containing high-tech ghost busting equipment.
THE DALIMAR FAMILY CONNECTION: Could this story be connected to the previous games in the series? Possibly. There appears to be some subtle hints to that affect. The obsessive/compulsive ghost Meredith could pass for a relative of Alistair Dalimar. She certainly has some of those crazy family traits.
ME AND MY STEREOTYPE: In “time,” will EIPIX leave the stereotypes on the cutting room floor and attire their characters in some less-than-hackneyed images? The game has some well-defined character analysis in this story. However, some of these characters are too one-dimensional and stereotypical for my taste.
PUZZLES: This game is a puzzler’s delight! The puzzles are varied both in style and difficulty. There are some difficult puzzles in this game. There is an excellent, well-designed Rube Goldberg puzzle (super puzzle) in the demo which will appeal to the science buffs in the audience. The others include the usual moving tile puzzles, gear puzzles, cryptic clue puzzles, logic puzzles, and matching puzzles, to name a few. There are some multiple-step puzzles. One of my favorite puzzles from the demo is the battleship puzzle, based on the battleship game, with ghosts replacing the ships. To purchase tokens, play a type of shooter game in which you match up like numbers.
HOP SCENES: They are standard fare seen in all games, including interactive lists of items and silhouette. My favorite was one in which you use a dial to adjust the resolution of the screen to view more items within the scene.
LEVELS: Easy, Hard, Insane, Custom Hint: 10 to 120 seconds Skips: 10 to 400 seconds
EXTRAS: (A) 17 Achievements (B) Collect tokens to unlock areas of the game. Play a game to get tokens (C) Replay 14 HOP scenes and 27 puzzles (D) 42 Morphing objects: The icon for these objects will light if there is one located in the scene. OVERVIEW: Get ready for the roller coaster ride of your life in this fantastic 5-star sci-fi game. Years ago, as a secret agent, you discovered something out-of-this-world in one of your cases - an infant. As your maternal instinct kicked in along with your biological clock, you adopted this tyke. Today is his 11th birthday and you will soon discover the joys of dealing with a rebellious pre-teen after he discovers you are not his biological mother. When he heads off to a carnival, you follow him, watching him board a roller coaster. You follow and you both will be coasting through the galaxy on a thrill ride of your lives. Have you ever envied those parents of those super sports kids? Well, no longer. Your son is an up-and-coming superman – able to open portals with the sweep of his hand. Wow will you be the envy of your neighborhood! Your super kid is also an heir apparent to rule the galaxy. However, you are now going to have to deal with his long-lost father, Kane, who wants full custody of your tyke.
This game is quite a blast into the cosmos of fun games. I LOVE this game! It was an automatic purchase for me! It is a carnival come-to-life! The story is loosely based on an old 1978 movie of Superman. The graphics are excellent with the space theme incorporated into the HOP scenes and puzzles as well. There are an equal number of puzzles and HOP scenes. However, I do feel the HOP scenes are better constructed than the puzzles. The collectibles are rockets ships and characters from the game. There are morphing objects as well. It will be a mommy-and-me adventure; your son is the helper in this game. I do not feel that game is very challenging; however, I do feel it is light-hearted fare which is fun to play.
HOP SCENES: The scenes are the normal fare we see in most games. However, there is one which I feel is exceptional. It is multi-step HOP scene. First, you search a map of the galaxy for stars adding an additional item to each star order to remove it. Then, you replace items back into a scene and finally you find planets listed in BOLD letters based on cryptic clues. It is thematic and quite creative! There is also a storybook scene to explain the heritage of your tyke and a couple of lists of items.
PUZZLES: I do not feel the puzzles are as creatively designed as the HOP scenes. They are all easy – a tad too easy for my taste. There is one moderately difficult connection puzzle in which you must connect lines between two like items without crossing lines. The others include a multiple-step one consisting of an easy gear puzzle, an easy switch puzzle to create a ticket for the roller coaster, and an easy slider puzzle in which you slide three colored slats into position. There are two variations of a maze puzzle. In one you rotate a maze with a ball creating a path so that the ball exists the maze. The second requires you to rotate 3 dials to create a path for energy to flow. There is also a tracing puzzle to move a light beam from one end to another in an “S” shaped figure.
LEVELS: Planet, Nebula, Galaxy, Cluster (Custom) Hints and Skips: 15 to 90 seconds
EXTRAS: Map is provided as you play the game 14 Achievements – Each has 3 parts Collect 31 rockets Collect the 11 characters from the game Morphing objects Replay 19 HOP scenes Bonus jigsaw puzzle 12 Wallpapers and Music Strategy Guide: 52 Pages

ROSES ARE RED - VIOLETS ARE BLUE - BLOODY ROSIE WANTS YOU DEAD!
PostedNovember 17, 2016

fromTired of taking selfies using a selfie stick? Consider this game’s angel drone which will flitter and flutter around taking all those pictures for you.
OVERVIEW: Was it murder or suicide? A physician has enlisted your services to prove that his wife was murdered and did not commit suicide, as per the official story. Behind this questionable murder/suicide is a red puppet - Bloody Rosie. You will need to investigate this puppet’s role in this murder/suicide in this dreadful, boring 2 star game.
What happened to ERS? Their last few games have been masterpieces – not so with this game. Playing the demo was “murder.” This “red hot mess” is a perfect storm of everything I dislike about a game. The story is absurd. The pace is slow due to the lack of activities with poorly constructed puzzles and HOP scenes. There are only four HOP scenes and five puzzles in the demo. Added to this mix is a time-consuming helper used seven times in the demo. It may be that the well has run dry for new storylines for this series. This game well-illustrates a series which needs to end.
THE BOISTEROUS MENAGERIE: ERS returns with their menagerie of animals. I do not mind the vast array of animals but I dislike the animal noises in their games. The dog barking in one of the scenes drove me crazy. With all the horses in this game, it seems ERS has invaded the horse farms from Churchill Downs.
HOP SCENES: There are only four scenes and they are short. Two of these involve locating animals – horse and dogs. The other two are storybook which require you to replace items back into the scenes. The scenes are short and lack creativity or interactivity.
PUZZLES: There are five puzzles in the demo. They are all extremely easy and lack any semblance of creativity. In one manual dexterity puzzle, you must keep a flame from being extinguished by snowflakes. Not to provide a spoiler, I will only say you will not need any skill in playing this puzzle nor will you need to skip it. There is a trial and error puzzle to move toy soldiers into place (there is no diagram nor hints given). There is another manual dexterity game in which you must shoot a puppet five times while avoiding Chinese stars being thrown at you. There is a Match-3 maze puzzle in which you must provide a path for a horse to reach a store. Finally, there is a simplistic maze puzzle which requires you to place two hearts into position via a diagram. I completed it in 10 seconds.
NOT SO PICTURE-PERFECT ANGEL BARBIE: Is it Christmas? Did ERS find a relic from an old Christmas game? Like some surreal dream, while tromping on and dealing with all those “bloody rosie puppets,” up pops a “cutesy” winged angel drone as a helper. She will take pictures for you. She also seems out of place in this story as well. As she helps you investigate the scenes, she entertains you by flittering and fluttering around. She is used seven times in the demo and seems to have been thrown in this game as a time-filler. She absolutely DOES NOT FIT INTO the theme of the game.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hard, and Custom Hints and Skips: 5 seconds to 200 seconds
EXTRAS: Irritating, Dreadful Helper: Puppet which flies and takes pictures. Map is given to you at the start of the game 13 Achievements Collect roses to purchase items Replay 14 Puzzles and 20 HOP scenes 8 Wallpapers, 6 Screensavers, 7 Concept Art, Music, and Movies
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND PUZZLES IN SEQUENCE
HOP SCENES:
A. Multiple step. (1) Locate clues on a corpse. (2) Locate horse-related items. B. Locate 10 dog related items C. Storybook. Replace items back into a storybook scene. D. Storybook. Return to the same storybook and replace items back into the scene.
PUZZLES: Puzzle Rating: (1) Extremely easy 2) Easy (3) A little difficult or time consuming (4) Moderately difficult (5) Difficult
A. Trial and error puzzle. Move soldiers into correct position. There is no help on any logical sequence to this placement. Just trial and error. Base turns green if in correct position. Rating: 1 B. Manual dexterity puzzle. Ready, Aim, Fire! Shoot a puppet five times to eliminate it. You must also shoot Chinese stars (Shuriken) she throws at you or you will be killed yourself. You don’t need to be a crack shot to solve this very easy puzzle. Rating: 1 C. Manual dexterity puzzle. Move a candle flame while walking so that a snowflake does not touch it. Dumbest puzzle ever. Rating: 1 D. Match-3. An elaborate Match 3 game in which you eliminate like items to create a path for a horse to move to a shop. You cannot make this stuff up. Rating: 2 E. Maze puzzle. Move two hearts into position as per a diagram. Rating: 1
WELCOME TO ZOMBIE ISLAND! PLAN FOR AN EXTENDED STAY.

fromThis siren should create a resort on this island. “Zombie Island – a Bed and Breakfast Resort. You will be possessed by a spell-binding adventure. Come and stay forever!”
OVERVIEW: Do you dream about taking a cruise to a lovely tropical island – swimming with the dolphins, finding romance with a handsome stranger, and basking in the sun with mermaids? Well you have boarded the wrong game! Awaken to a nightmare-come-true in which you find yourself as a survivor of a shipwreck in this 5-star game. You have washed up on a shore of an island with a village of zombies controlled by a hideous siren (an appearance-challenged mermaid-gone-wild). You will need to stop a siren from getting a magic amulet and get those townsfolk back to normal. You will get some help from fellow shipmate Noel and a villager, Leandra. Hurry, hurry, hurry! The siren is closing in.
The demo is very short so it is difficult to assess the quality of this game. From the demo is appears the pace is excellent with plenty of activities to keep you engaged. You will spend most of your time dealing with both the siren and her village of zombies. There are an equal number of puzzles and HOP scenes in the game, including a Rube-Goldberg (super) puzzle. Both are creatively designed. The graphics are beautifully rendered. Don’t expect too much from that Frenchie, Noel - he is useless. However, when he speaks, he sounds “magnifique.” There are two bonus chapters in this game and you can keep track of your time. There is only one collectible – gems and there are no morphing objects. There is the option to replay both the HOP scenes and the puzzles.
HOP SCENES: There is one very impressive HOP scene in this game. In one of the scenes you escape some village zombies on a horse cart. As you try to escape, you will go back-and-forth between two scenes to locate items to defeat and knock out the villagers following you. Quite creative! The other HOP scenes are lists of items. You have the option to play a Match-3 game in lieu of some of the scenes.
PUZZLES: Shoot an octopus! That is your first puzzle in this game. You will center a ball to take him out. There is a Rube-Goldberg puzzle (super puzzle) with three puzzles, most of which are restoring pictures When you use the amulet to fight off the siren or zombies, you will need to play a puzzle. The amulet puzzles are varied and easy as well. I would have liked to see more variety in the puzzles both in style and difficulty. I feel the puzzles are the weakest part of the game.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, Custom Hints: 10 to 90 seconds Skips: 10 to 180 seconds
EXTRAS: Map is provided as you play the game. Helper Amulet to help defeat the siren 16 Achievements (from what I could count) Collect 36 gems Replay HOP scenes and Puzzles 10 Wallpapers, Music, Movies, Workshop (Concept Art)
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND PUZZLES IN SEQUENCE
HOP SCENES: You have the option to play a Match-3 game instead of the HOP scene A. Mini-HOP scene. List of items. B. List of items to locate C. Locate 13 fish. D. Very cool interactive scene. While driving a horse carriage to escape zombie-like villagers, search for items and then either replace them back into the scene or interact with them somehow. You will go back and forth between two scenes.
PUZZLES: Puzzle Rating: (1) Extremely easy 2) Easy (3) A little difficult or time consuming (4) Moderately difficult (5) Difficult
AMULET PUZZLE: Every time you wish to use the amulet you must play a puzzle. There are four in the demo. (1) Maze puzzle. Draw a continuous line between musical notes to an animal token all while avoiding Celtic trinity knots. 3X (2) Bubble puzzle. Begin with the smallest bubble, then collect other bubbles to add to the first bubble until you end up with one huge bubble.
A. Manual dexterity puzzle. Ready, aim, fire! As a ball hits the center of your range, shoot an octopus. Rating: 1 B. Rube Goldberg puzzle 1. Sliding tiles puzzle. Move four tokens to their proper locations on a gate. Rating: 1 2. Moving rings puzzle. Rotate 3 rings to create a picture. Rating 1 3. Moving rings puzzle. Rotate 4 rings to create a picture. Moving one affects the others. Rating 2 (a little more difficult than the previous one). C. Sliding tiles puzzle. Move pieces into position to create a picture. Rating: 2
A MURDER MYSTERY WHICH HAS ADDS A “DOSE” OF SUSPENSE

fromThere are a few of good things about being a chimera. You can fly, you always have someone to talk to, and three heads are better than one in solving problems.
5 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER - REVIEW BASED ON THE DEMO.
OVERVIEW: The Chimeras are back! You, as a detective, are off to the city of Ronas to investigate an epidemic affecting the children of the town in this 5-star game. It appears that a doctor did create an antidote; however, a trial test on his own daughter resulted in her death. As he faces charges of murder, the doctor pleads his innocence. It appears there may be some dark sinister forces at work behind the scenes.
This is a beautifully illustrated game by Elephant. The story is well-written and keeps you engaged in this whodunit. This is an easy game which is fun to play, lacking any challenging puzzles. This is a great game for beginner or intermediate players. Surprisingly, I found the pace decent. There are more HOP scenes than puzzles. You collect puzzle pieces to create screensavers. You also collect cards and morphing umbrellas. All the collectibles are easy to locate within the scenes. This game will be a pass for me. I like games which are a little more challenging. However, it is a well-crafted game for those who like easy breezy games.
HOP SCENES: I feel this was the weakest part of the game. There are only three in the demo and they lack creativity. The demo includes two lists of items and a silhouette scene. There is very little interactivity within these scenes.
PUZZLES: There are ten puzzles in the demo. There is one puzzle which provides a casual and hard option. I wish Elephant would have provided more puzzles with this option. It is a switch puzzle in which you exchange the positions of red and blue gems. You are only allowed a certain number of moves to complete the puzzle. I would have purchased this game if the puzzles had an optional hard version for more of the puzzles.
The other puzzles are all extremely easy. They include two rotating tiles puzzles to restore pictures. There are two sequence puzzles following a pattern given to you. There are two switch puzzles; in one you switch books and in the other you switch tokens. There is a slider puzzle to restore a picture. There is a multiple-step assembly puzzle in which you restore a cube by placing two halves together. Afterward, place the cubes into rows with like cubes.
LEVELS: Casual, Detective, Super, Custom Hints and Skips: 15 to 90 seconds
EXTRAS: Map is provided as you play the game 19 Achievements from what I could count Collect 12 Cards Collect 36 puzzle pieces 29 Morphing umbrellas 16 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art, 3 Screensavers (Jigsaw puzzle), Music, Secret Room

ZIPLINE THROUGH DANGER IN A POST-APOCALYPTIC WORLD!
PostedNovember 5, 2016

fromAfter the practice in using that grappling hook in the game, you will have all the necessary skills to try out for part of Jane in the next Tarzan movie or became the “Lasso Queen” at a rodeo.
6 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER – REVIEW BASED ON THE DEMO
OVERVIEW: Zip-line your way through the Forbidden Kingdom in this 5-star sci-fi thriller. I LOVE this game and it was an automatic purchase for me. This is another beautifully crafted game by Mad Head. You, as Lana, are a resident of a post -apocalyptic world seemingly destroyed by nuclear warfare. Your world is now dying. However, a prophecy indicates that a champion will arise to return the nucleus from the Forbidden Kingdom and heal the world. You may be that champion. You are being aided by elves in a world in which humans and elves live together in former skyscrapers far above the ground. As you enter the Forbidden Zone, you are stalked and threatened by a man called the Wanderer. Are you the prophesized savior? Can you save your dying father?
The gaming script is excellent. The graphics well portray a post-apocalyptic word. The game somewhat reminds me of the movie “Planet of the Apes,” with the elves replacing the apes. You will not encounter any apes; however, you will be “monkeying” around swinging high above the ground. The pace is fast-paced – keeping you flying from building-to-building, and maneuvering through debris. There are morphing objects and fairies to collect.
HOP SCENES: In the demo, there are more HOP scenes than puzzles. I feel the HOP scenes are well-created and interactive. They are either lists of items to locate or silhouette.
PUZZLES: Your “helper” in this game is a grappling hook. There is a puzzle associated with using this grappling hook as you zip-line from building-to-building. You play a Match-3 game which increases in difficulty as you proceed in the game. You must remove all the gems on the board; however, this will take some logic on your part.
It seems Mad Head is into picture restoration. You restore pictures three times in the demo by differing techniques which include switching tiles, sliding tiles, and rotating tiles. Another puzzle is a slightly difficult matching puzzle in which you use dials to replicate the placement of musical notes on a radio. There is a maze puzzle in which you must remove obstacles so a teacart can fly out a window.

KEEP CALM, CARRY ON AND SAIL AWAY WITH CAPTAIN LOUIS
PostedNovember 3, 2016
sunnyglow
fromCaptain Louis can help me in any situation – odd jobs at home, at work, or just to sail away from all of it with a rather “hot” looking English guy!
OVERVIEW: My Lady Jane – you are off on the adventure of your life assisted by the stalwart and oh so handsome Captain Louis - a little arrogant but basically a good guy! What a wondrous 5-star game. When the queen is accused of witchcraft, you, as the noble lady-in-waiting to the queen, are off to prove her innocence. Along the way you will meet with those who wish to thwart your efforts, my lady, but the gallant Captain Louis will be at your side to help!
What makes this game stand out from the usual tea-and-crumpets Elizabethan-style game is Captain Louis, who adds a little spice to that tea! I hate helpers in games; however, this helper is logically tied to the story and provides some much-needed comic relief to what otherwise would become a very boring game.
The graphics reflect the full flavour (a little British spelling) of the Elizabethan period. There appears to be slightly more puzzles than HOP scenes. The puzzles are easy. Surprisingly, in the demo there are several manual dexterity puzzles to test your reflexes. There are only two collectibles in this games, coins and morphing objects. The strangest element of this game is the use of these coins to purchase different game interfaces. A rather unusual choice for an item to purchase.
This is basically a plain Jane game with few frills. I will purchase it as an SE. It really is not my type of game; however, it is well-crafted and does have that handsome Captain Louis!
HOP SCENES: The HOP scenes are cleverly designed. Some of them include little mini-puzzles. They include a couple of multiple-step scenes. There is a matching scene. My favorite was a HOP scene in which you must find items on a stained-glass window alternating between a day and a night scene.
PUZZLES: The game has the usual puzzles we have seen in other games; however, as stated previously, there are several manual dexterity games. By engaging the player in these activities, they provide the player more of a sense of being connected to the setting in the game. Great job, dev!
Ready! Aim! Hit the Old Bag! (with a hatchet). That “old bag” is one filled with grain with a picture of an animal on it. I am certain that scene will delight the SPCA. You also help that debonair Captain Louis lead the way to his ship by avoiding obstacles in your path. Then, shoot marbles in a bubble popper game. Other puzzles include a maze puzzle, an assembly puzzle involving statues, and a jigsaw puzzle to create your map.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hard, Custom Hints and Skips: 5 to 240 seconds
EXTRAS: You get a helper in the game – roguish Captain Louis. You put inventory items into a circle and he helps you with them. Map is provided as you play the game 14 Achievements Collect 24 golden coins to change the game interface. 39 Morphing objects: 13 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art, and Music

OVERVIEW AND STORY: Who will be awarded the writing contract to write the biography of the fabulously wealthy Harridan Welles? You are off to Vermont as the dowdy, bespectacled Ms. Douglas, mystery writer for the acclaimed “Dead Reckoning” series. Joining you will be four other topnotch authors from the various genres, surprisingly - all based on EIPIX game series! Quite clever!
These authors are: Ms. Jessica Benedict, Romance, “Danse Macabre” series; Mr. Lucas Routledge, Adventure, “Hidden Expedition” series; Mr. Adam Johannsen, Horror, “Phantasmat” series; Ms. Cameron Jones, Journalist, “Off the Record” series; and you – Ms. Douglas, Mystery/Crime, “Dead Reckoning” series.
You will be spending time at the Welles estate so he can ascertain who among you will be the best to write his biography. As a world-famous author your host While at the estate, your competition begins dropping like flies. Someone is out to eliminate the competition by murdering them and then leaving a short note addressed to you. Something sneaky is afoot here. Ms. Jones is most likely the suspect.? In her “twenties” she is just way too young to be a successful writer. (Try to tell that to the successful writers out there who just happen to be in their twenties!) Case closed. Well, not quite! You are going to have to do some sleuthing (we can always send in Jessica Fletcher to help) to solve these murders. There will be quite a few surprises in this game!
This is a decent 5-star game. Yes, the story is absurd; however, I did find a bit of creative genius in EIPIX using their game series and the actual ratings for their games within the series. This creativity also extends to their puzzles and HOP scenes. This is a very-well designed game. Your helper is your tablet which contains information needed to play the game. As a sleuth, you will also assess the veracity of people you encounter by matching up their statements with a specific number of observations about them. Extras include a collection of 38 dollar signs and morphing objects.
HOP SCENES: They are excellent and demonstrate some needed improvement. They include a multiple step one with a list of items and rebus items. Also returning are the cryptic clues and silhouette scenes. You have the option to play a bubble shooter puzzle in lieu of the HOP scenes.
PUZZLES: The first puzzle deals with the ratings given by all of us reviewers on the Front Page for two of this developer’s games. You return pieces of a pie chart to their correct location. Other puzzles include an excellent, slightly difficult maze puzzle leading a helicopter through a path which has many obstacles within it. There is a mathematical puzzle in which you use arrows to move a marker on a navigation bar so that three points are targeted. The arrows move either two or three spaces at a time. There is also an easy matching puzzle as well.
A LITTLE TOUGHIE: Yes, EIPIX has finally found a puzzle to perplex me. There is a tangram puzzle made of tires which requires you to place shaped pieces so that each piece is used and there are no gaps. Thank you EIPIX. I spent an hour on that stupid puzzle! My mind is finally fried! Actually,I am very delighted

5 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER – REVIEW BASED ON THE DEMO
OVERVIEW: Have a little MAGIC in your soul? Hopefully that magic will save you in this 5-star game. I LOVE this game and have been awaiting its release. It was an automatic purchase for me. ! Based loosely on role playing games such as MAGIC, you will find yourself playing Evan, a broken-hearted man, devastated by the disappearance of his wife, Melissa. When he receives an invitation to participate in a card game decorated with symbols associated to his wife, he is off in attempt to find her. However, he soon finds himself playing a devious card game which is a matter of life and death to defeat the Beast. Six others are in the game as well – all searching for the Beastslayer card - but one-by-one, the competition is being “eliminated.” There is no escaping this game. Will Evan be the winner and finally be reunited with Melissa?
The game is well-crafted with a slightly offbeat story. The graphics are excellent. The dark tones contrasted with brilliant colors and a cartoon-like portrayal of the characters add a sinister element to the game. Most of the puzzles are easy. The demo consists of two rounds which take place from sundown to sunrise. You collect wolf tracks and there are morphing objects scattered throughout the game. You will collect a deck of cards for your card gallery and at the end of the game you can play a jigsaw puzzle.
HOP SCENES: There are only three in the demo but they are well-constructed. Mad Head does employ some unusual settings for the HOP scenes. In one silhouette scene, they use a statue of an eagle to hide items to be found. They are symbols and rather difficult to locate. In another, they use a carved wood piece as the setting for the scene. There are two storybook scenes which do help explain the story behind the game
CARD PUZZLES: Every time you use a card you will need to play a puzzle. In the demo, there are two puzzles you play. One is a maze puzzle to get a ball into the center of a maze. The other is a memory puzzle in which you memorize the location of symbols within a grid and place them into a grid in the same places you saw them. Each one increases in difficulty.
PUZZLES: Most of the puzzles are easy. In the demo, they include a slider puzzle, sequence puzzles, a switch puzzle, and a pipe puzzle. My favorites were two sequence puzzles. These puzzles require you to rotate a dial clockwise and counterclockwise a certain amount of spaces on the dial. In one you light up all lights on a disk and in the other you use the arrow to point to symbols matching up with a code.
STORYBOOK PUZZLES: They require you locate and replace items to their proper position within a scene. They just seem to be thrown into the game to provide background information on the characters in the game. I dislike these puzzles and feel they slightly tarnish an otherwise fantastic game. However, Mad Head is not the only dev guilty of this. They are now in all HOP games.
FINAL THOUGHT: Keep them coming Mad Head. This is fantastic game and hopefully we will see more of your games on this gaming site!
