Like other reviewers have said, this game pretty much consists of hunting for objects and then using them to solve puzzles. If you like puzzles, this should be a buy for you. The scenery is beautiful and you have around 20 different episodes to work through. It reminds me of the old Safecracker game which sadly will not work anymore. I hope BFG offers more games like this.
I wanted to like this game but had a hard time finishing it due to the frequent use of flashing lights on the screen. I'm very sensitive to screen flashes so I wanted to share this in case anybody else has the same issue.
I used a coupon for this and clearly should have tried the trial version first. I somehow had the impression that it would be a blend of puzzles and hidden object scenes but there are very few puzzles in this. If you like one hidden object scene after another, this might be the game for you.
I was probably one of the few people who was enjoying this game (I found some of the puzzles to be quite challenging) but on day 10, the game quit working. Big Fish did give me a replacement coupon which I appreciate but there was nothing I could do to get the game working again including re-installation. I hate that I missed a third of the game. I gave it a three star rating because I loved it when I could actually play it.
I got as far as level 94 and I'm done. I absolutely do not have the coordination to complete this level so that is the end for me. The least they could have done is to not reset your progress as it is immensely frustrating.
I had to hit the skip button on several puzzles due to game glitches. In one of the games, I had it solved but the computer refused to accept my solution. Apparently only one solution was being accepted so I had to find the answer in the guidebook and type it in as shown. There was another puzzle with flags that I gave up on due to the puzzle locking up on me. I wish I could get my money back for this one considering all the times I have used the skip button in this game.
I rarely write reviews but wanted to for this one. I used an expiring free coupon for this thinking that it would be a throw away game for some rainy day but the more I got into it, the better I liked it. It is certainly different than the standard fare offered at Big Fish and I found it to be quite atmospheric, moody and somewhat spooky. I normally don’t use game music as I find it distracting but the music helps build the mood for this one. I wish I could hear the Russian version instead of the English voice translators because it would further enhance the experience for me but I see no language option in the set up. I recommend this if you are looking for something that is a little bit out of the ordinary.
