Clunky controls, simple puzzles often with repetitive actions, terrible voices and an incoherent storyline. I finished the demo but would not recommend even that much effort to anyone else.
I don't recommend this game.

I loved this game, it really made me use my brain. In order to succeed you not only have to plan where to place things but what to build and what to sell or destroy. As targets are varied sometimes you need to keep all your building and sometimes you have to sell/demolish. I had to replay about half the levels to get gold which is very unusual for me. If you just like to build to see the silly characters running around this game is not for you but if you like a real puzzle I thoroughly recommend it.

Like several other reviewers I have all the other Island Tribe games but this one is just boring. There is no need to think about what to develop first in order to succeed in time and the hints at the load screen for each level have obviously just been transferred from earlier versions as some do not apply to this game. Too often you have done everything you can and are just waiting for enough resources to accumulate to proceed to the next stage. I shall probably finish it because I have spent the money but would not recommend this game to anyone

I'm not sure what the problems were for some people on this game. It was a good mixture of HOS and puzzles. Loved the finding coins to open chests. It does add to the challenge as some of the coins are really hard to find but if you use the map properly there are enough hints about what to do. There was a comment on fake British accents, I'm not sure whether the person concerned lives in Britain but I do (for 60 years) and I found the voice overs to be wonderful after all the really fake Mockney that is used in so many games. I enjoyed this game so much that even a slight glitch with the inventory didn't ruin it for me.

This game looked as if it was going to be more interesting than it turned out to be. It was a challenge to work out what you were supposed to do next but what minigames it had were far too easy and I found the game way too short. I only took as long as I did because of running around to find out what to do next and as there was no map (with shortcuts) this involved a lot of going through scenes that were no longer important. It also involved one of my pet hates - HOS which are used twice but with no indication that you need to revisit them unless you come across them as you are running around trying to figure out what to do next.
If you like HOGs you may enjoy this but I found very little fun in this game as actions involving inventory were either blatantly obvious or so obscure you wondered how the developers came up with them. On the plus side there were very few junkpile scenes and objects were very easy to find. On the minus side there were very few real minigames most of which were unbelievably simple although one needed some real thought. The storyline was incomprehensible as far as I was concerned. The ending when it came was totally unexpected and explained nothing, like several other reviewers I thought I'd hit a glitch rather than the end of the game. All in all a real disappointment and glad I only used a free credit on it.
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!

I absolutely loved this game. I used to really enjoy point and click adventures and only started playing HOGs when they became interactive. I much prefer minigames to HOS and never could see the point of finding objects just to show you had keen eyesight. That said this is exactly the sort of gameplay I like. Examine a scene, find something useful then work out how and when to use it. OK I did need to use the hint button to check when I had cleared an area and occasionally had to go to the walkthrough but that doesn't bother me, I still had hours of fun. More like this please.

This is one of the best hidden object games I've played. I loved the way the hidden object scenes worked. You actually have to use your brain to decide what you need to find in them. Lots of mini games which are straightforward but not over taxing, never needed to skip any of them but most needed a little thought. Hint system outside hidden object scenes sometimes stated the obvious but I think that was because there was some trick to it that I never worked out as I rarely used it. Other than that I have no criticisms of this game at all. More of the same please.
This game requires a little patience to get the hang of what needs to be done but is well worth the effort. OK the sockets for the wrench are not that easy to find and the instructions are not that obvious until you get into the way the developer thinks but try the whole demo for yourself before relying on other people's reviews. One major point I would make is accept the tutorial and use the assistant rather than the hint button. I also like that some of the puzzles have a slight twist to them and are not as straightforward and boring as they first appear.

This was the first My kingdom for the Princess game I played as I'm nor really a fan of time management games but this was a real eye opener. Levels were challenging but not too difficult most of the time which meant good progression with the occasional really challenging level which I found pulled me in more and more. Took hours to complete and am now going through again trying to beat the developers record, which is sensibly visible on the main game level screen. I have no chance of beating it on the minigames as I'm not fast enough but it doesn't really affect the progression of the game and the awards are achievable even if you are as bad at that type of game as I am. All in all one of my best purchases from BFG and I'm keeping my fingers crossed thst there will be another in the series.
