I bought this game partially out of curiousity since there were such strong reviews pro and con and I wondered what the fuss was all about. Well, I really liked it. I have played hundreds of games and this one is a bit different. The graphics and sounds/music are a change from the usual. It was haunting and I really didn't know what to expect from scene to scene especially visually. I will let others give you details. I enjoyed it.
Enigmatis: The Mists of Ravenwood is one of the better games I've played and I've played well over a hundred. I played on the hard mode which, quite frankly, wasn't too hard. I did use the hint button now and then to speed up the "what do I do next?" process but that was a personal decision.. Puzzles and hidden object areas were fun and sometimes unique. Visuals are well done and the game has an interactive map. What makes this game one of my favorites, however, is the characters. You must talk to people to advance the story and the actors do a good job. I especially like the interaction between the ominous prisoner (think Silence of the Lambs) and your character. Very interesting and unique. If you like to experience a game in a personal way (not just play the hidden object areas, etc.), this game should satisfy you.

Very enjoyable game. Dark, sometimes scary but creative. Puzzles moderately hard. I've played many many games and this one kept me interested and sometimes delighted. While it's the usual story of a mother searching for her lost daughter (and husband), the locations and required activities often were original. Ending was very satisfactory. I highly recommend this game and hope the developers create more like it.
