"Clutter" games by Joe Cavanaugh have a tendency to sit open in my Game Manager for yonks. Whenever I start getting stressed out, I open one and replay this or that puzzle. My absolute favs are the sliders - I could do sliders all day.
I love the story that goes with this one and as the puzzles progressed, I carefully read each entry of Joe's recounting of the years spent in developing the game series. The one-on-one you have with Joe is awesome. Wish all the devs were like this.
FELLOW GAMERS, IF YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED A CLUTTER, go back to the first one and work your way forward. Talk about brain boosters!
Here's the list, type the name into the Big Fish search window.:
Clutter: The Original Un-Hidden Object Game Clutter II: He Said, She Said Clutter III: Who is The Void Clutter IV: Minigame Madness Tour Clutter V: Welcome to Clutterville Clutter VI: Leigh's Story Clutter Infinity: Joe's Ultimate Quest (VII in the series) Clutter 1000 (1000 Puzzle Levels) (VIII in the series) Clutter IX: Clutter Extreme Clutter Evolution: Beyond Xtreme (this is the latest in the series and where you are now.)

Frankly, I wish I was just starting the game now instead of being at the end of the bonus game.
And in that bonus game is a cave that has waterfalls you could stare at all day - I've never seen anything like it before.
The story line is great and I'm positive that this is only the first of many wonderful adventures with the same cast of really interesting characters. Don't worry if the sister seems a bit of an airhead at first - she gets way better later.
My only disappointment has to do with all the time I spent looking for morphing objects, 2 per scene, with no mention of them in the Extra section. Some are really hard to find and I wanted a chance to go back and find the ones I missed. On the other hand, I loved finding the precious little fairies (the game calls then elves), and in the Extra section I was able to go back to find the two I missed. There are two fairies per scene.
I certainly hope the devs have the next adventure on the story board 'cause I can hardly wait for it to be released.
The game is okay, but IMO nothing to write home about. Certain parts of the plot are so out there that I spent a fair amount of time saying "What?!". For instance, the police leave the scene of the murder, and the body is left there, in the street, just laying there. Every character who is injured acts just fine and heads to the hospital - one by ambulance and two on foot.
This game is well, fairly predictable if you've played years of this genre, and by that I mean that the items that must be found to move through the game are standard. No surprises. Find nuts for the squirrel ... I am SO tired of feeding animals to get to a needed item.
Some of the HOS are very frustrating because objects are invisible, unless you have night vision goggles (not an option) because they are hidden in nearly black areas. After a while, I just started clicking in the shadows to see if something was hidden there.
I finally reached an area where I had to play a mini-game that doesn't tell you when you have made a correct match. I had to go to the guide to find the solution, and the image was so small that I practically had my nose on the screen to see in which direction some of the pieces were facing.
Shortly thereafter, I found two objects in a space in the floor, but only 1 made it into my inventory. Looks like I'm going to have to play the game all over again in hopes that I can acquire that much-needed item. Maybe someday, but not today.
I'd say that this game is cool for Beginners and Intermediate, but not for Advanced.

This is definitely a game that requires a LOT of clicks. And the result is a blast.
See, Beatrice, an old, old witch, speaks to you through her recipe book, and... oops! Can't give it away, but she is funny as all get out. And so is the dialogue from various items.
Even the clues are wry, and the game is loaded with them. Click on the big question mark, then click on the question marks that appear and in the close-up, click on the big question mark for more question marks that provide even more specific clues ... basically, leave nothing un-clicked.
This game is lots and lots of fun, and though it requires some brain work, which is very appealing, the clues pretty well guide you along - and the solutions are sometimes found in the oddest places!
I'm off to buy this one right this second! And I suggest you do the same, even if you are a Beginner. Even more fun than "Leaves, The Journey" and "Varenje".

First we had the House of a Thousand Doors series, then the Lost Land Series, next came the Darkness and Flame series, and now this, which tops them all, and that's sayin' a LOT!
You can probably tell from the above list that I'm a die-hard fan of cgi, but this game has way more to offer on top of that.
The storyline is excellent and captivating. The characters are a delight and beautifully played.
There is little to no action that breaks the fantasy, which is a terrific plus. The characters act and react like real people. AND there are no, I repeat, NO screw ups in the sequencing of the storyline - not in the main story or the bonus.
Nobody is miraculously cured, or recovers without some time passing. As a matter of fact, the main story is all about finding a cure for a malicious witchy act. There is also a scene in which a spell is cast using up a lot the the caster's energy; her reaction is very well portrayed. The caster recovers in an appropriate amount of time with dialogue you would expect in a good movie script. Totally believable.
Did I mention that the HOS are all correct? No weird callouts. If you have to find a cleaver, you actually have to find that particular type of cutting tool, not a letter opener. The last game I played had me hunting all over the place for a type of halberd (medieval pole weapon) that turned out to be a scimitar (curved sword associated with historic Middle Eastern warfare). Which is a pretty frequent happening.
This amazing game is totally buttoned up. In other words, Five-BN cares about their standards and it shows and glows. They also care about us, and do not throw "whatever" at us as if we will buy and praise anything, even if it's full of errors.
Frankly, I couldn't get enough of this game, and have placed the series on my "automatic buy" list.
I was astonished and jaw-dropped to see another episode of the fantastic series "Maze". Man, I jumped on that Buy button in a heartbeat, forget the demo!
Mad Head Games is one of the very best creators and developers out there - their games are always buttoned up, never sloppy - but if there was an Oscar for games, I'd be hard-pressed to choose between this incredible story with its follow-up Bonus Game and Maze: Subject 360.
This is the first time in a VERY long time that I have been so engaged with the character and game play that I was reluctant to make the next move for fear of what would happen if I did. I went so far as to hunt around for alternative ways to get from point A to point B.
I don't play the Casual option, but I am certain things are laid out beautifully for beginners who are just now learning the ins and outs of these types of games (Hidden Object / Adventure).
As for those of us who enjoy a good challenge, GO FOR IT! This Maze episode is a dream come true for Advanced and Expert. Yikes! Those few times when I caved and used a Hint (I played Advanced on this one), there was no Duh factor. My reaction was "Really?! THAT'S what you wanted me to do?"
I could have kept playing for days, never knowing what was going to happen next, but alas. All good games must end too soon.
I recommend this game!

Summer Adventure 4
Mary's family is on a new summer adventure. Complete amazing collections, clean up the clutter, solve fun mahjong puzzles and discover more puzzle fun!
If this is your first time playing Summer Adventures, then I recommend it.
See, I enjoyed Summer Adventure 3, but I did get tired of playing the same puzzles with the same items over and over again.
The only difference I can see between Summer Adventures 3 and 4 is the scenery.
Same puzzles, same items in both the puzzles and HOS, same hearts and anchors, though apparently the anchors are now called a GPS. I had to quit and delete the game before the demo was over, and I hardly ever do that.
What did enjoy is that all the items are called out correctly. In my book, that's a major bravo. And I don't mind that the dev calls a basketball or a football a "basketball ball" or "football ball". It's kinda' cute.
I love the images of Greece with their blue and white, white, white buildings.
All in all, my opinion is that this game has a good base, but could be a lot better if there was more thought and originality given to each episode in the series.
After you buy Summer Adventures 4, check out my current favorite Collection: Lost Lands. The Standard Editions are great, but the Collectors Editions are AWESOME!

I had SO much fun playing this game. I bought it within a few minutes into the demo, and was not disappointed - not by any means.
Kudos to Penmom for telling it best. I love everything about this game, and found the cartoon recap and chapter preview, drawn a la Superman et.al. genre, running down each side of the game window was a TERRIFIC idea.
The Current Favorite button isn't working tonight, so I'll plug my recommendation here: Any of the Fear for Sale collection. Whether you play the Standard Edition (SE) or the Collectors Edition (CE) you will experience great game play with a high replay value.
Oh my gosh, I didn't realize that the 3rd installment came out already!
While I agree with another reviewer in that I, too, would like to see a bit of a change-up of the art, filling in the paint was so much fun! Especially with the new background color slider and the ability to drag the paints across the fill-ins..
I see that Paint by Numbers 4 is available, and I'm off to buy it! Like right this second. :D :D
I was surprised by the storyline in this game. It's really good.
Not only do you get to follow a good story in a way that is very appealing - the voice actors are great - but you get Hidden Object scenes as well.
I thoroughly enjoy this type of Match 3, and get so mad at those cotton' pickin' spiders that I knock 'em off the board even if I don't have to.
I'm not one to immediately replay a game, but I delayed uninstalling for a few days and BOOM! There I was, back in the game, even though I know how the story ends.
Go on, give it a test drive. You're gonna love it!
PS I am into playing some of the older games in the Big Fish inventory, including games I bought like 10 years or so ago. I've added Echoes of the Past as my current fave, released not too many years ago, and if you click on it, be sure to buy the series in order. It's a sequel series, starting with Wolf Healer, a good long Adventure game.
