This is different than the run-of-the-mill HOG. It has a dark storyline (fans of Supernatural will love it). The art was dark and brooding, and the ambient music suited. Exploring the old house a bit at a time, with bits of the story doled out as you went was fun. I did have a bit of trouble at the start, since the hint system is not specific, but the in-game map points to exactly where you need to go and a bit of attention to detail gets you "in the swing" of the game. The animations were very well done, made me jump a couple of times. Recommended for nighttime play in a darkened room. Thanks BFG, for giving fans of spooky just what they asked for....
I recommend this game!

If you have enough courage to challenge the darkness, then you’ll manage to find out the mystery of the Rossolimo family.

I've kept on buying this series, hoping that one of them would be as good as the "Echoes of the Past" games by this developer. This one definitely is. The game is long and involved, with many locations which are well rendered. The HO scenes are re-used, but well drawn and reasonable. The minigames are many and varied - some were easy, and some took me some time to overcome. There were lots of little effects, like fleeting glances of something in a mirror, fluttering butterflies, murmurs of voices on the music track, etc, which added a lot to the game's "feel". The cutscenes were terrific - you get to float and fly to locations. A jump map would have spoiled this. The bonus chapter was longish and used many new locations and puzzles. No collectibles or achievements, which is just fine with me - the team spent its effort on the game and story, not the trimmings. Keep it up, Orneon!

This is a real HO adventure. The game starts a bit slowly, but picks up steam. Artwork is gorgeous with a 16:9 correct aspect mode for us widescreeners. Puzzles are varied, both in type and difficulty, and include jigsaw, blocksliders, concocting potions, etc.. There is a minigame alternative to the HOG scenes. There is also a map, but I don't know if it jumps, because you don't really need to, as each game area is pretty well contained. The story is detailed and hangs together well. The bonus content is in the middle of the game, rather than the end, and is well worth the extra price, but you don't miss much in the way of story without it. It's like this developer listened to everything we've said, and built accordingly. It sort of reminded me of the old adventure Riven, with a modern HOG twist. Very highly recommended.

I was pleased with the game for a number of reasons: the graphics were clean and bright, and filled my wide screen monitor. The minigames were of reasonable quality, and blended well into the action. This is a large game for the money, quite equal, IMHO, to the first installment, which was a CE. It's looking lately like some games, like this one, were intended as CE. This is well worth 1 credit. If you like a carnival setting, and large handdrawn graphics, you'll like this.
I recommend this game!

This game hit all the right notes for me. The story, based on HP Lovecraft, was dark and interesting. The HO scenes were clear and simple - no gadgetry to distract from gameflow. The minigames were numerous, mostly logic-based, and varied in difficulty, always advancing you to a new area to explore. The game world felt large, and was beautifully rendered. If you liked "Dorian Gray" (released awhile back), you'll like this. Extras were also worthwhile. More like this one, please!
I recommend this game!
