I absolutely love the Gardenscapes series. They are fun, entertaining, light and definitely NOT DARK like most other HOG games. It's fun to decorate the mansion to your liking, and I've already played it a few times and changed the decor. You also get a pet, in this case a cat, to name who interacts with the main character.
I so wish more game designers would follow suit and create light hearted games and story lines for us true HOG fans that don't want to go from scene to scene and back gathering tools to open/close doors and if you get stuck have to find the game guide.
If you're like me and want to have FUN and NOT WORK so hard, this game is for you.
I am a really big fan of the Big City Adventure games and have purchased all of them. This is a true hidden object game which I prefer to so many of the games that are dark and gloomy that make you go back and forth searching items, then having to match a key to a door to a room who knows where it was. There are way too many of those type games that, to me at least, are so frustrating. I have played each Big City Adventure games a couple times to beat my own high scores.
I've played and purchased the other clutter games and this one is much better. Same concept of finding hidden objects but with more nuances that change up the play to make it more challenging. If you're beaten by the time, you must replay the game 3 times before it'll let you skip the puzzle. The replays are not necessarily the same objects, so it keeps you intrigued. By the third time though, I was able to beat the clock, so wasn't necessary to skip. Music is a bit distracting after a while, but I just turned it down. Mini games are fun. Found the jigsaw puzzle aspect pretty easy so far; don't know if it gets more complicated the more you play. Story line of finding the Void is a bit perplexing, but hopefully it'll make sense in the end.
Yes, this has old style visuals and the HO and mini games are pretty simple, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. I am thoroughly sick and tired of the dark, grim, monstrous, blood and guts HOs that are so prevalent, that I'm happy to play the simpler ones. They are much more enjoyable. I wish there were more of them. I don't even bother any more trying the grim looking games that come out.
Forget those long-winded stories and dive right into the HO scenes you love! 100% Hidden Objects gives you complete control over your gaming experience.
As one who loves HO games, I gave this one a try despite the poor ratings. But alas, the reviews were correct. The music was annoying and the items too small to find and identify.

I just love the Big City Adventure HOG's. They're fairly easy, lighthearted and fun to play; unlike those dark, dreary, scary games that are so popular (why? I don't know). I get a chuckle out of some of the action going on around the scenes (worm crawling in and out of apple, cat's paw dangling over chair, etc.). It's a very nice game for families to play together. I wish Big Fish game creators would do more of these.
I purchased this game right after my hour trial expired. I like this because its not dark and dreary; its not difficult and there are plenty of hints if you don't know what to do next. I normally don't like going back and forth to different areas, but this game gives you enough info that you're not lost. I have no problem with the fact that there's no voices or music because that in itself can be very distracting. The dress up aspect is kinda cute and different from other games.
