I do not usually write reviews, but this game was so enjoyable! If you do not buy this game, you will be missing out on something very special! This game has all the wonderful features that have been missing for way too long.
I love adventure games with little or no guidance as I play, so this game was great for me! If you like HOGs with everything provided, then skip this one. I did find some of the scenes to be blurry/grainy which made it difficult for these old eyes to find the items. Thank goodness there weren't many, so I survived! Clearly there will be a sequel and I hope the developers continue with the adventure format.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.

Eventhough this was a very dark game, it was a well executed re-visit to the old mansion and continuation of the Ravenhearst saga.
I, too, become bored with the usual HOG format and enjoyed the change to morphing objects.
The mini-games were challenging and I loved the return of the "lock-puzzles". It would have been great to have more than one though (please make note, game designers)! Solving puzzles without instructions is also OK with me!
The picture clues in the strategy guide were just fine! I liked that they were brief, to the point and gave just enough information to get you back on track.
I am a note-taker, especially when playing complex games, such as this. So, not having clues recorded in the journal didn't create any problems for me.
I had a problem with the game freezing up. So be careful if you have an older computer, like I do.
As with so many games I have played, this too has a "weak" ending. The last two chapters were much too short and lacking in detail for my liking.
Except for the Strategy Guide (which was a BIG plus and worth the extra game credit), I found no "extras" in the Collector's Edition. Make note, if extra game play is something you expect.
