This game reminded me of why I first fell in love with hidden object adventures. Great visuals (particularly with the morphing portraits), fun game play, a good storyline, and nice extras. It was engaging and well-paced. I loved it!
Good game, but not the best in the Dark Tales series

This was a solid game, with nice artwork and an ok story. The challenge was moderate. It is always disappointing that this developer does not create their games in widescreen.
Although a fine game, and typical of ERS gameplay, it was not as good as I expected, overall.
Maybe it is because when the Black Cat came out, there were not as many other similar games out there, but I remember really enjoying that one - it was certainly more of a dark tale, with beautiful artwork and a great story. This one, less so, although I suppose the game itself in this one was just as good. It just didn't have the same sense of mystery.

This was an enjoyable game, but I found I did not like it as much as I thought I would. It was a bit drab and disappointing as the storyline moved on. The artwork seemed somewhat hazy in more than a few areas. The first in this series had more beautiful scenery.
But overall it was a nice mix of adventure, hidden objects and puzzles and was a good length, with about the right amount of challenge for a relaxing play.
Prepare for a mind-bending journey into the realm of the weird in Haunted Halls: Revenge of Dr. Blackmore! Brace yourself for the unexpected in this exciting Hidden Object adventure!

This was a good game, but I was glad I did not get the CE in this instance, as I typically do. By the time I got to the end scene, I'd had enough with Dr. Blackmore. It was a typical ERS sequel, more of the same, but that isn't a bad thing.
It would have been better in widescreen, as would be the case with all ERS games.

I very much enjoyed this one, after taking a a bit of a break from playing. It reminded me how much I love these types of games. This was typical ERS, not too challenging, but the graphics were lovely and I liked the storyline. I found it very relaxing.
As always, it would be much better if ERS would design their games in widescreen, as most other developers do.

This was a very well made game with great graphics, a good story line and nice level of challenge. Everything was enjoyable. There was a good mix of adventure elements, puzzles and hidden object scenes. The game was very long, also, with a well made and lengthy bonus section that related to the main story line. I look forward to more from these developers!

I very much enjoyed this game. It had great adventure elements, good hidden object scenes and very smooth game play. The background story was well developed, and was revealed slowly throughout the game, which was well done. Also, the game was a good length. It had a moderate degree of challenge on the advanced setting which I felt was just right to make the game relaxing and fun.
I did not care much for the puzzles in the game, and did not like the style of the graphics in the cut scenes, which was the main reason I choose not to get the CE edition. However, the graphics in the main part of the game were fine.
I don't really like cartoon style graphics in games, and particularly not when they are mixed in with a more traditional style, such as was done in this game. I agree with many of the comments regarding the feeling that the graphics were done by two different art teams. This gave the game a disjointed feel.
Other than the cartoon graphic segments and the basic jigsaw type puzzles, I thought the rest of the game was really well done and highly enjoyable. It is a shame it was a mixed bag visually - for that reason I am glad I waited for the SE.

I definitely enjoyed the game. It was not as impressive as other similar games I have played and was about average overall, but it was still quite entertaining. The game had a good balance of adventure, hidden objects and puzzles - it did keep you moving along. It also had a pretty good, but familiar, story. I thought one of the characters, Uncle Albert, was excellent in terms of the voice over - one of the better ones in this type of game. This was not a pretty game, but the graphics were still clear and well drawn with good background effects.
This game was introduced as a CE, and I am glad I waited and got the SE version - while it was a very good game, it was not as high in visual quality and game complexity for what I like to see in a CE. The length of this version seemed just right to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It had great adventure elements with smooth game play and a nice balance of hidden object scenes and puzzles. The map was really necessary for this one. The graphics were clear and colorful with an interesting background story and perfect length. While the game was not as refined in terms of the graphics and complexity that we see in collector edition games, I thought the game was very fun - which is more than I can say for some games at twice the price.
Most importantly, the graphics were in true widescreen format (not stretched - which is NOT true widescreen format, regardless of whether you can get it to "fill your screen or not"). This was wonderful - I sure wish we would see this from all of those other developers who are churning out "collector edition" games at twice the price and think stretched graphics will suffice for widescreen - I really hate that this stretched option is becoming an acceptable standard - (it is not acceptable to me). The true widescreen format pushed this game to a five star for me.

This was a very fun and beautiful game. It was only mildly challenging on the hardest level, although there were a few more difficult puzzles. The artwork was excellent, but the story left a lot to be desired, it was not very well developed or as centered on the main character as I had hoped. It was a very familiar feeling game and very similar to the other Puppet Show games, but I do always enjoy them nonetheless. The length of the game was good, and the bonus game was fine, but not quite as pretty as the rest of the game.
My complaints remain the same with this developer. I wish they would create their games in true widescreen versus the old 4x3 format - it is really about time they updated their old standard graphics format. Also, they need to quit locking wallpapers until the end of the game when they are useless, in my opinion, as I am on to the next game and won't use them at that point. At least they have finally created a slightly more difficult game play option, which is a step in the right direction...
