To repeat, this review is based on the demo only.
My favorite part...when he says, "I will obey"...I laughed out loud it was so corny! So awesome. I can't tell you anymore about that cause it would be a spoiler.
The story is actually pretty good. Two reporters or investigators or thrill seekers (whatever) checking out this old observatory. And, the adventure goes on from there with a dead wife and a friend floating in mid-air, and this really cool camera...
I liked having to use the drone to achieve my objectives...kind of fun and different. The HOAs were pretty much the same as all HOAs but they did change them up a bit.
Scene changes were really nice...sky changing, rooms moving around...that kind of stuff. Puzzles were challenging and some of them unique. You can use the map to figure out where your action areas are and to move more easily around the game. I also liked that there were no collectibles in each scene...thank goodness!
I will add this to my list to own...I recommend you try the demo for sure!

To repeat...I just played the demo. First, the demo was generous in the time you are allowed to play. So, it gave me a good idea if I would want to purchase this game...and I think, I will add this to my purchase list.
Now, about the game. Graphic and sound were good. Storyline wasn't really unique as it was the usual of save somebody from the bad magician but then, again that is the style of this particular game. So, no complaints.
I thought the number of items you have to find in each area was good and they were different. You do have to travel back and forth in the game but the map allows you to jump between scenes.
HO sparkle games were also all different. Sometimes, it would show an outline of the object, an outline that you must use in the scene, or just list of each item to find.
The game ran smoothly with no glitches, also.
Overall, it set a good pace and kept me involved in the game. I won't go into details about the the game itself since I don't want to do spoilers. I would recommend you try the demo for sure to see if this is your kind of game!

Well, I wasn't. I had read many of the reviews and it seemed like the game could go either way. One thing others said (BTW I only used the sample game, so far but have added this to my "buy" list) that did peak my curiosity was some people said the graphics were great...and they were!
Story line was adorable! Princess turns into a "rabbit"! And the King sends for our hero to return her to normal. What a hoot! And the other characters are so bizarre and funny, it's worth the time spent playing just to find out what the next weirdo is going to have our hero do on his quest!
Some of the items are somewhat difficult to find (sometimes you can only see a vague outline) but the hint button recharges quickly so not a problem. I used the hint button somewhat more as I knew I had a time limit on the sample game. Having said that, I only got to level 3 (the Witch) when my time ran out.
I've played my fair share of HOs and this one was a little different. You didn't have to go back and forth between scenes. Once you were in a scene, you stayed there until you accomplished all your goals. Also, you need to pay attention to all the items you see in your search since you may have to pick them up later.
There is a zoom button to allow you to get a little closer to the scene but it doesn't ZOOM in very much. Not a bad thing but there were times when I wanted to see something more clearly but couldn't zoom in closer. Note: I am playing the game on a 47" HD screen so I'm not sure how this game would appear on a smaller monitor because some of the items were very small.
Overall, I had fun! If you are a regular HO player you probably should take advantage of the sample game before buying. Hope this review helps you!

The only good thing is that I used my credits to buy this game. The bad thing (one of many) is that I used my credits to buy this game.
Graphics were good as was the sound quality. From there it went down hill. The mini games were confusing (I am actually pretty good at this type of game) and I ended up having to skip many of the games because they were so confusing. The directions for the mini games were not very instructive to say the least.
As far as the story lines goes, you are the daughter of an alchemist who is working to protect her father. Basically, you run all over town trying to find items to release your father and then you can go against the bad guy...but, when you find your father and release him, he is way too tired to go with you. So basically, that wasted about 2/3 of the game. In the meantime, you are working to put together a weapon than will control some "thing" made out of clay to go against a stone golem...or was it a gargoyle? ...okay even this is boring to relate.
I think there are other games that create a better sense of excitement (this was a major yawn).
It's repetitive. Some HO games are difficult to see. Did I say it was repetitive? In this case it's worth repeating.
Let me put it this way. It was so boring, I didn't even complete the bonus game.

As an Agatha C fan, this was right up my alley. I thought the graphics were clear and the sound okay (that's not a huge thing for me, anyway). Nicely developed scenes but not a super thriller story line.
HOAs were good and you could clearly see the objects without having to squint!
Good pace. I would recommend for a player who wants a game to relax and enjoy.
I love SciFi. I love robots. Spaceships...meteors are all good. The good aliens vs. the bad aliens (loved the name of the bad aliens, too). Well, to say I was excited was an understatement.
I think they had some good character development, and I thought Diana's friends worked well with the story line.
I also thought that Diana was good. I can't think of the last time I saw a woman riding a motorcycle and flying a plane and being able to repair both. That was refreshing.
Unfortunately, the flow of the game just isn't there. The HOS were awkward. I had to skip (which I don't like to do) at least half of the games because the instructions were ... weird. That's the only way I can describe them. Beyond Weird.
But I kept going because I figured this has robots and aliens, and spaceships! So, I got to the end and literally my jaw dropped it was so silly. And not fun silly. Beyond Silly. Beyond Awful.
I can't recommend it. I know I haven't gone into a lot of detail but I don't want be a "spoiler".
I just HAD to play the demo and I just HAD to buy the game. Really nice flow throughout the game...storyline is solid, and you can readily find your next step to keep you moving and interested. I played in the casual mode but intend to try playing the game again without hints, etc.
Also, played the bonus chapter which was interesting and maintained the same quick pace...
I would recommend (did I spell that correctly?) Have fun!
I recommend this game!

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector's Edition
Dive into an epic journey as a museum owner in pursuit of an undead pirate who has kidnapped your daughter in Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart!
I just had time to play the demo, but will go back and buy this game. The graphics are awesome, rich and detailed. HOs are well designed and clear. Even though the game scenery is mostly dim, I never had a hard time seeing anything (unless I needed to find a flashlight). In some scenes it was like watching a movie...well worth the time. Only one thing upsets me ... it's that I don't have time to buy and play the game...RIGHT NOW!!
Okay, so I'm being kind of hard but how many times are they going to have asylum games? On the plus side, the graphics are good although somewhat monochromatic, I can't really comment on the music since I turn it down. Level of challenge is average for an experienced player. If you haven't played an asylum game yet, this could be a good one for you to try. If you LOVE asylum games, go for it. If you've played asylum games and are looking for something new, then I'd give this one a pass.
I was trying to spell more difficult words and the game would select words that were not what I intended...you couldn't select the word and if it didn't recognize it...you couldn't use the word. For example, I spelled the word "fairy" and it ignored it. Too much trouble, back to scrabble for me!
