I love this game. It has great time management components, but a lot of strategy as well. If you're sitting around waiting for resources, you likely aren't strategizing correctly. I played on the expert level which has plenty of challenge. Some levels I had to play over to get three stars. Sometimes I had to play it over because finding the hidden puzzle piece took away time and/or resources. The puzzle was pretty simplistic, but fun anyway. The storyline had some flaws, but all in all, it was okay. Just a note to reviewers: If you have technical issues, please contact Big Fish for help. They are willing to help you out. If the majority of people have had no technical issues, the flaw does not reside with the game, but with the system on which it is played. Please don't badmouth a good game because of personal technical issues.
You must go through several levels until this gets good

Having played the previous Royal Roads, I knew that the challenge would not be there in the first several levels. So I persevered through some slow levels. Later, after about level 6 or 7, the challenge picks up. As with the previous rendition, the challenge here is strategy. You can't just build a mill and assume that you'll finish. You have limited resources to start with and must plan what you might need before you set out. I started one level building the tent for an extra worker only to find out that I didn't have enough lumber to make it to the sawmill. This is not so much a time management game as one of strategy.

You cannot rate this on the first couple levels. This game, if played on the difficult level, has some strategy involved. You have to plan, so often the goals aren't going to be accomplished in one try. My only complaint is that you are immediately thrown into the action as opposed to looking at the level before starting.
Take on new time management challenges and help three young archaeologists unearth the mysteries of the past and piece together the story of the brave Xi Niu!

The time-management games from this company all feature women, and the main characteristic is their strength and perseverance. I like the game play with the storyline that has meaning and thought put behind it. This game is no exception. I hope that this is a trend going forward that these games continue with the time-management tasks and a good story as well.

This game plays a lot like the previous games with a new storyline. I played in the hard mode with the tutorial off and had no problems. It was challenging and fun. Thanks!

The reviewers who gave one-star are unfair. The intro set the background for the whole story and, seriously, if you don't want a TM game, then don't play it or review it. This is a game where your choices matter. The plot is interesting, and the time management tasks are fun. It's a mystery and has elements of mythology, so there is an educational value as well. There will obviously be a sequel, and I can't wait to try it. I like the TM games that concentrate on a story more than just gathering resources.

I loved the first game in this series, and this one is just as enjoyable. Yes, it's time management, but so much strategy as well. It's definitely not easy to pass every time on the first try.
This was a boring game....if you only played the first couple of levels. It wasn't until maybe level 20 that things got really interesting. The strategy got more and more complex as the game went along. You couldn't just gather resources. You had to PLAN which ones to pick up and in what order. Some levels, you didn't even need to pick up everything. It was all strategic. I ended up getting stopped on a lot of levels and had to re-do the level to get the resources in the right order. Fun!
