I would expect improvements from a developer with a number of these in the series already; but, it's still buggy with some basic design errors. Level 23: unable to complete level as one key task is hidden behind the timer! Game freezes: this happened on previous releases too Come on guys - not good enough!
A great little TM game. Deserves 5 stars but game play bugs stop progress. Worker 'running speed' and 'construction' boosts only available on one level...but they are essential for 3 stars. Workers get stuck on tasks, which requires a game restart. Guide is not helpful as extra steps are often required. Game play update pleeeeease!
This is one of the rarities on BF games. An entertaining SE TM with 3 difficulty modes, a decent length and graphics that look like they're from at least the past 5 years of game development. Basic game play is: run, collect resources, build, and beat the timer. If you're interested in story lines, it's there to read - but I prefer to get on with things and beat the clock. With a little more thought invested into game play, this could have been an impressive TM / strategy game; much like Royal Envoy. It's not, but still worth a 5 star rating. FUN!
5 stars just for being a TD game. It's not the greatest out there but it offers a challenge and needs a fair bit of level replay to continue. Each level requires you to construct your towers at crucial points in order to attack and kill the enemy. There's a combination of flying and crawling 'bugs', each with their own surprises or weaknesses. Stars and points are collected along the way. The stars help you upgrade your tower's abilities in 'the shop'. Points collected allow you to upgrade your towers to the next level during game play. Beware!! Make sure to save your game progress during game play. If you don't continually save, and you die before completing the level, you will automatically go back to the previous saved point in the game. This could be 5 levels ago, so it pays to save as you go. Overall a fun, challenging little TD game. More please!
In brief, I just don't want to play it. I really enjoy time management and strategy games, especially ones that require some thought, multiple attempts and an approach that needs adjustment the more you learn. Be they construction, run and gather or tower defense. And, it's always a plus if there are bonuses attached that require 3 stars to achieve.
Biggest problems: No challenge. Unnatural movement. General unlikeability of characters, tasks and objectives. It's a run-snatch fest. Basically you have a home base. One little helper runs out, collects food or wood, and runs back. You get an extra helper option after a couple of levels. The same thing again. There are one or two 'extras' to find in the background scenery. Not sure what they 'do' yet. Your resources add up and allow you to 'collect' the crystal, which your fairy helper assists with. Then, you can 'collect/cut' the final barrier and you win the level. Continue and repeat. Zzzzzzz.
OK, most time management games are run-snatch or run-build, or run-cut/destroy/pick up some object in order to collect resources to build the next construction which gives you resources to keep on building/collecting before the timer runs out! This is just...clunky. Boring.
I tried to 'get into it' 3 times - and failed after 7mins of game play. Developers - please, please, please put out some more challenging tower defense/strategy games. I like BFG but it's getting harder and harder to say the same.

I have to agree with the more recent posts. Having played all previous games in the series I was excited to see this version appear. Unfortunately my excitement was short lived. As many others have pointed out it has strayed too far from what was a successful formula. Cons - lots of unnecessary running back to the same resource piles to complete the action. Why should it take 3 trips to get one pile of wood? No skill level selection. It seems to be set on 'easy'. Levels playable in demo mode can be easily completed within the 'gold star' limit. No challenge. Scenery and layout has been changed. I'm unsure why the developers did this as it looked great in the previous releases. Pros - graphics look pretty but the changes were unnecessary.
It looks like I'll be keeping my game credit this time.

The Happy Hereafter has a lot going for it: - Well drawn, fluid characters that don't take weeks to move to a different location - Beautiful scenery that fits seamlessly into this imaginary realm - A variety of 'things to do' - Easy to master controls and tasks
The downside is that the overall game play is rather simplistic and it takes no time at all to achieve the final goal and reach the end of the 'quest'. Everything was over and done within 2 days, which is a real shame as I was just starting to enjoying visiting this colourful little land. I admit, you are able to continue playing or start again but there wouldn't be any challenge in doing so.
I recommend this game!

This game can be easily summed up in one word. Awesome.
You get: - 2 skill levels (casual and advanced) - 3 battle stages with approximately 20 levels on each stage - 4 combat 'weapons' with numerous upgrades accessible by using accumulated points - long hours of game play and great replayability
This is a strategic, time based, tower defense game. I could not stop playing the first Toy Defense, so now I know what I'm going to be doing for the next 6 months! This must be in your game collection.

I'm not sure what this game is trying to be. Defense, arcade style shooting game, strategy, time management? In any case, it is cute for 10 mins but fails beyond that.
- Very short! Only 3 stages with 15 'levels' at each stage - Upgrades beyond the first level appear to take days of boring and repetitive game play. To achieve enough gold you have to repeat levels over and over just to get a second upgrade for the same 'shooter' - Unable to change player. There are no player options anywhere, so each time you log in you continue to play the same game - Quick learning curve and shallow levels quickly make game play tiresome
If you do want to have this in your game collection, at least wait for a free credit.
I don't recommend this game.

I wouldn't say that this is a hyper-fun game because it can be sooo frustrating! Nevertheless, its' value for money surpasses many other BFG releases. As usual, I'll list out the PROs and CONs.
Pros - Challenge factor - Duration (54 levels that start becoming 'hair-pullingly' annoying in the early teens) - Humbling (if you think you're good at builder style games, think again) - Value for money
Cons - Challenge factor can lead to intermittent bouts of yelling incomprehensible strings of words at the screen (NOTE: game is NOT voice controlled) - Higher levels sometimes seem irrational (tearing down of a perfectly good building in order to build another in its' place is often required)
Overall Challenging. VFM. Duration. You definately get a feeling of satisfaction once a level has been successfully completed, even if it has taken 3 days to get there. In my books that equals a great BFG game.
