I haven't been writing many reviews lately as there are many here who do such a GREAT job and cover the basics, that mine would seem redundant.
But I had to see what others wrote about this game and was glad to see that yes, Penmom and others had a hard time with the lack of logic in this game. I too could not understand why your fire extinguisher would be trapped away - it says right on there, use in case of an emergency, well we had a case of emergency and then had to jump through hoops to get to it. And why we couldn't use it to put all the fire out is beyond me. I'm also glad the cat with the ribbon was mentioned!!! I just had to stop for moment as I was aghast that they thought this could happen for real, then I burst into laughter!!!!! Just couldn't help it! :)
Other than those flaws and few others that were already mentioned, luckily there was good things about the game that made it enjoyable. The atmosphere, graphics, HO's and Mini-games. Those were all top notch!
I can't figure out if these lack of logic problems come from the designers lack of knowledge or more likely they are under tremendous pressure to get these games done to put out there for us.
Please, if it is the latter, which I highly expect it to be, give them the time to do it right. In the end you are going to have more customers wanting to purchase these games.
And one more thing: I really am getting tired of chasing people (not in the normal chasing way, love that), what I mean is how just in the next room there they are being pulled away, they go through another door, it gets locked, frozen, etc.... and you are always on their heals. Can we delve deep and come up with a better scenario. You know, like in a few other games, the person is already taken to a place you will meet at the end of the game. For me, it is spoiling the games as it has become so redundant.
All that aside, I want to THANK the developers. I know you all work so hard for us and you need to know it is very much appreciated!
Good Gaming Everyone,
Boopala

I was also glad to see not everyone was thrilled with this game, nor was I. Yes, the graphics and creep factor were GREAT! But I am with the players that talk about the storyline and logic of it all. I didn't find a review were someone was complaining about the gore, instead they were simply trying to understand why there would be blood in places where there weren't dead bodies. Like one person stated, there was so much jumping around, which I like, mind you, but the logic behind the objects you needed to make things work just made no sense too many times for may taste. Then there are things like the stove; how you broke one of the latches that kept it closed - never I've I seen an oven where anyone would have it designed this way, Or the fridge that needed not just one way in, but 2 ways. 1 into the freezer & the a magnetic card for the fridge - Geez!
I love this series SO much and this one and the last two have been a let down.
Like I said the graphics, realism & some of the story line is good (Sadly, I knew almost immediately who the bad guy was, but won't say anything for spoiler alert reasons#. And too, as someone else said, the other detective just didn't make any sense, nor did the guy that kept playing the piano, TOO WEIRD! I love finding out I have a partner to help, but he did way TOO little in my book!
I did, however, like the snow globes we collected and when you went into the extras section where you can view each one, BEAUTIFULLY done, IMO! I do wish more games did things like this so at least the collectables have a purpose, as most don't anymore!
Thanks for listening - as with all things life, to each it's own. :).
I do appreciate all the hard work all game companies put into these!!!!
But if I had paid for full price #this has happened twice in the last 2 months, with games I'm not even going to mention, as I'm sure others have as to how disappointing they were) I would have been quite angry!
I recommend this game!

Not sure if you are still on BFG, since this was back from a few years ago. But, I was trying to find some half way decent HO games, as I keep forgetting to use my free game coupons before they expire, have lost a few over the last year :(.... (sure wish they offered it for the CE, cause those are my favorites - or at least let you use the coupon towards one, even if it is not the equal price and you just pay the difference) and came across your most delightful, hilarious review I have ever read. So funny was it to me that I read it to my husband, but it was hard to get it out as I kept laughing so hard. Then I noticed you are from England, I sort of figured there was a high chance that some one from the good ole' USA hadn't written and they hadn't. I am not insulting all in the USA, certainly not myself ;), it's that we have lost what I consider some great laughs and it goes by the name "Wit". Yes I realize you were serious near the end, but the wit is greatly appreciated in your wording!!! Hats to ya!

I love BCA and was disappointed with this one. At first I felt like I was playing an older version of the game - I couldn't even play it in full screen mode and they also didn't have voice overs. What is up with that?!
I hope they do another one and I also HOPE sincerely that they consider doing a story version like they did with the London one - I love that!!!!
I know there aren't as many players that like this sort of HO games, but there a lot that do too. Please take my suggestions to heart, as I miss these type of HO games from time to time!!!
As always, I appreciate all the hard work the dev's put into this and I will be looking forward to some more!!!!
I recommend this game!

I have to say; I was glad I had a coupon for this! Though it was scary at times and I did like the games.my favorite was slinging the tomato @the bird game in the sanctuary.
The big beef with this was the real people playing the parts, I didn't mind that much,, but they could at least have the limp sinking done better!
I didn't realize there was a CE to this and would not have bought it.
And there were times where it didn't make sense what was going on. First you knw and then you didn't and then you would, soft of!
I give the developers a thumbs up and would have put 3 1/2 stars, but it doesn't allow for it. I just hope they work on the graphics better - please!!!!

I only agree regarding the storyline that it was a bit down given how the graphics and music were great, but it was told so wonderfully and such a great way that I didn't let It bother me so much! I loved that there was more interaction in this game like in the game; Dark Realm - Ice Princess. The only advice I can offer the Dev's is; please don't make it quite so repetitious, it was bad enough with the bad guy, but with the bear, it was just silly in the bonus game.
I applaud all the hard work, ingenuity, graphics (magnificent - you could tell at times where real life was added or mixed in, but blended well - although some of the mouths/faces where the voice overs were, either made me laugh or creeped me out - Delores I think got the short end of the stick here) and the dedication to all of it is wonderful!
THANK YOU!!
PS - I too would like screensavers offered!
I recommend this game!

The number one reason this game is so much better than others of late; A LOT of INTERACTIVE PLAY AND BATTLING!
So many times now I'll being playing a game I like and I get to the end and poof it's over - you didn't either get to do anything to stop the Villain (the game did it for you) or it was mediocre at best! What a let down that can be!!!!
This game not only allowed you to have fun defeating the bad guy/guys, but you get to slay down a mountain, battle some minions during the game and how cool it was to have the Bear and other things I'll refrain from saying as to not "spoil alert" too much; I know, already did some :) - sorry!
BIG KUDOS HERE: The voice overs! The bear, the narrator of the story line and then there is the Snake in the Bonus game - major creepy and well done. I so wanted to see the faces of the people that did these voices, I was that impressed with them!!
Please keep it up Mad Head, for a while, Eipix was my favorite gamer, and now, more and more, it's Mad Head for me!!!!
PLEASE PROVIDE GAMES with MORE INTERACTIVE GAMING!
Thanks much and while I may get disappointed at the ones that don't either offer enough interactive gaming or not much at all, I am still grateful for all the hard work, because the majority of the games are VERY WELL done in so many ways!!
Have a good day!
I recommend this game!

I have only played the demo and I hope I won't regret this early review, but based on the demo, I DOUBT it!
As been the case with soooo many games; the demo is so short that I'm finished within 20 to 30 minutes, when of course, it offers 90 minutes. With this game, thank goodness, I only had 18 minutes left. WooHoo!!!!!
Other developers, please pay attention to this. I have been playing these games for years and this is the first time in at least a couple of years, where I am thrilled that it took almost all of the 90 minutes, but also, it was FUN! An aside about me, personally, I live in a lot of pain and these games are a refuge, so I thank you all for the games, even if I may get disappointed - I never take them for granted! They are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!
I happen to love the imp - adore him, he is my favorite helper. Getting him to snorkel (spoiler alert, sorry, as I can only write 1 review# and then fly on a broom to get you what you need - priceless. I love all the extra touches too - only 1 example #there are quite a few of them, but I won't spoil too much); clicking on the horned face dude and him growling and his eyes lighting - Yum! I laughed out loud, couldn't help it. I'm sure for those who have played the demo there are other parts that for me and maybe for you, that the same thing occurred. :) :)
Nothing is better than a thought out game, that is not only challenging, and this one IS, but to add the antics to effect our mood is a huge plus!
Only negative from me, is work on the lip syncing, that's all. I never tire of this series and someone else pointed out; that it needed to be put to bed and the imp given back to Morgana.
Well, she is in this too, so there you have it and the imp wants to be with us - how fortunate are we.
I highly recommend this game! And I won't be waiting for a sale. Now I just wish I could get back 1/2 of what I paid for; the other game I did pay full price and deeply regretted it.
Thanks for listening; Have a great day everyone and THANKS again to all the hard working developers!
I recommend this game!

I really don't like leaving "Bad" reviews, unless of course the game really deserves it. And I am not saying this is a bad game; there are parts of the game I felt were testing my patience with, i.e., how do they view us as intellectuals?
I mean I don't a have a high IQ, but I'd say it's better than some and I don't mean that in snooty way either. Facts are facts. I only bring that up because several times and one time in particular, that perhaps, they were making the game for a much younger person, when these incidents occurred.
I am speaking of several of the HOP games; for example:
You have to get the gold tooth and in doing so in the HOP, you "Easily" see all the gold letterings, get them all and then put them on the shell right there in front of you #no hiding, subterfuge whatsoever# and they pop open and viola, there are the teeth to collect, although all you need is "a" gold one. That was only one of the games part of it that I minded, there were a few more, but that one was the worst of them.
So here is why I felt sucker punched:
After playing the demo, I was hooked and couldn't wait to play in this series again, so I paid full price, without waiting for a special. And because of that, I least have learned a lesson here, I bought the game with great expectation. Certainly based on others I adore so much of this series!
The time it took to play the game was the fastest of any game I have ever played by this developer. I adore this series, it is in my top 5 favorite genre's. So, as I said, I was taken with it during the demo and thought wow they have improved it a lot, and I'm going for it.
It all boils down, for me at least, to how long a game is, the challenge, the artistry, the story, lip sinking etc... and this was by far the shortest game in the series and that was the "sucker punch" - it hit me from left field, literally. This series games are always long and varied and I was SO looking forward to that again. The first time I played I finished the whole game, including the bonus #only skipped one puzzle, that was more out of boredom then not being able to do it, the puzzle was, I mean# in just over 2 hours. I even played it again in the hard mode and I only got maybe 15 more minutes out of it.
Please don't think I am not appreciative of all your hard work and I know we probably ask a lot from all of you, but @13.99 a pop, I feel we have a responsibility to do so. I admire and applaud all your hard work!!! There are good moments in this game, you can see that from my scores above.
From a huge fan of this series with just a touch of annoyance at having spent good money and wanting just a bit more length to enjoy the game longer! And I will also say, that adding 2 more parts to the story, making the player think, is this it, and then adding 2 more subplots to make it longer, I believe emphasizes my point. Because subplots or if you prefer "continuing" better, weren't that great anyway. They came across somewhat lame.
Well, I'm sure I've warn out my welcome here, but please keep in mind that we come back for the love of these games and I do not mind paying for a good #dare I say great# long game!
Kindest Regards,
Tina
