I played this off and on over a few months. It was always fun and never too difficult. At one point there seemed to be a glitch that kept me from progressing. I closed and went back into the game and it was working again. The mini games weren't too hard but I did skip several because they took too long to solve. The storyline was similar to many other HO games but the ending was a pleasant surprise. I do recommend this game for experienced and advanced players.
I enjoyed this game. I've played hundreds of HO games and this was as much fun as any of them. The plot is predictable. I rarely turn on the sound but I enjoyed the sound effects and music with this installment. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible for an experienced gamer to solve. I skipped a few. I would recommend this game. I've enjoyed all of the Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe games and look forward to playing them in the future.
I played the collector's edition of this game over several days. It was not too hard but not too easy. Definitely not boring! I only skipped over a few of the puzzles. I'm sure I could have completed all of them had I more patience. The map was helpful although several times there was no objective marked and a a result I used the strategy guide one time. The bonus chapter was pretty good too and wasn't over too quickly. After that, I played the secret room. I don't usually play any other bonus features but that one was fun too. I highly recommend the collector's edition of this game.
I enjoyed the Collector's Edition and the bonus game was short but very much fun. Looking for morphing items and coins added extra fun to this game. I usually play without sound but had it turned on accidentally during the last 2 minutes of the bonus game. I wish I'd had sound the entire time. The voices were great-not fake, corny or robotic. The music was excellent as were the sound effects. Of course, the graphics were wonderful. Grim Façade never disappoints.
I recommend this game!

After playing hundreds of games from the Big Fish website, I've finally purchased one that I couldn't bear to play for another minute. I'll admit I may not have tested it first...that option may not have been available anyway. The reviews were awesome but I just couldn't get into this one. It seemed boring and weird. I was disappointed and deleted it after going into the town and meeting the hippie. I also bought Maze the Broken Tower. I may still give that a try.
This game wasn't very different from most other HO games. I enjoyed it thoroughly because it wasn't too difficult and I don't remember skipping any of the puzzles. I was going to skip the very last one (with the ropes) because it looked like it would take a very long time but I finished it in a couple of minutes. So kudos to the basic game but I did not find a bonus chapter. It would only allow me to replay the game using advanced skill. So I feel cheated that I bought the CE. Finding roses doesn't seem like a feature worthy of collector status. On the other hand, now I've finally found a series for which I can skip the CE versions.
I don't recommend this game.

Among match 3 games this is one of my favorites, right up there next to 10 Talisman and Sahara Quest (formerly Quest for Saqquarah). These are really the only match 3 games I play. Anything else pales by comparison. Candy, Bejeweled- boring! This particular games has a well developed story line and I like the progressively challenging skill levels. I appreciate a game that like that- if it's too easy, or ends too soon, it's not worth the $. This game lasts a long time and is winnable.
