I bought this game based on all the glowing reviews here, but I made a mistake. Really, it was my fault for not trying it out first, but I've never been so let down by the reviews before.
This game felt extremely disorganized. It made me want to tear my hair out. I couldn't get past the first fifteen minutes, let alone finish it. I hated the bulky cursor, which I couldn't even get rid of in the options menu. I found the sounds, especially the buzzy "talking" noise, intensely grating. The look of the characters was quite unpleasant. The graphics were nothing special. Lastly, the English was not particularly good -- there were many spelling and grammar problems, some of them bad enough that things were unclear.
I usually play games to relax, and this was very much not a relaxing experience. Obviously, many others enjoyed this game, and it's possible that you would, as well. Still, I *strongly* recommend that you play the demo first. This game is definitely not for everyone.
I don't recommend this game.

This was an all-around great game. I played both the basic version and the collector's edition. This is the first time I felt compelled to purchase a collector's edition, but the story and gameplay were so engrossing that I wanted every bit of content that I could get.
The mood and plot are superb. You become very absorbed in the moment and what is happening. The story elements are interspersed very evenly throughout the game, and I found it very hard to stop playing. It was like a good book that I just didn't want to put down. I always wanted to immediately use the objects I found and see what happened next.
Some people might not like all the backtracking, as this is a huge game, and there is a good bit of that. It leans more toward being an adventure game, even though there are some hidden object scenes. I didn't mind the backtracking, because the scenery was so beautifully rendered. I loved exploring everything and looking at the details of all the scenes.
This game is one of the best I've played on Big Fish. I would recommend going for the collector's edition specifically, because it has some very enjoyable extra gameplay and story content. And I don't normally buy collector's editions, so I don't make that recommendation lightly.
I recommend this game!

This is a nice little adventure game. It's not super challenging, but it was nevertheless really enjoyable. I think it's suitable for kids and adults alike. The story was amusing, and the tasks were pretty fun, in general. I didn't experience any glitches or problems with the game. All in all, I'd recommend it.
I recommend this game!

This is one of those games that you use to judge the quality of other games. Plants vs. Zombies is just an amazing experience.
The gameplay is quite varied. It's a creative concept, and I was never bored. The game is challenging but not unduly difficult, and I never found myself frustrated. The story is cute and funny. It's good for kids or adults. The graphics are quite pleasant, as are the music and sound effects. There are several different modes and lots of things to unlock.
I truly can't think of anything that I didn't love about this game. I would really like to see more games of this caliber in the future.
I recommend this game!

The story was a bit boring, and there wasn't much of it. It started out fine, but then there were long stretches at the end when there wasn't any story at all. It felt like the game ended a bit abruptly.
I also would like to have seen a bit more variety in terms of what you do or the challenges involved. Overall, it was just okay. It was fun at times, but it certainly didn't stand out to me.
I recommend this game!

I only played some of the trial for this game. From what I saw, the graphics are not very good, and the game seems pretty easy and rather boring. The English wasn't very good, either, and the story wasn't shaping up well. Unless you are really into this kind of game, I would recommend skipping this one.
I don't recommend this game.

The art style and quality were wonderful and really set a nice tone. The main problem for me was that there was no story to go with that. The tasks to be completed seemed pretty random, and there was no explanation as to how things fit together. Then, the game just abruptly ends, with no resolution. (But I guess, with no story, there's nothing to resolve.) It was almost atmospheric enough to pull it off, but it just didn't quite do it for me.
The puzzles were varied in style and ranged from reasonably easy to reasonably difficult. And for me, they also ranged from mostly fun to mostly frustrating.
All in all, the game was enjoyable, but if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have purchased it. It just didn't deliver enough, in my opinion, and I was left wanting something more.
I don't recommend this game.

Like one of the other reviewers, this was among the first HOG games I played, and like that reviewer, I've also bought it twice because the company I originally bought it from couldn't replace it.
This is a great game. It might not be at quite as flashy as some of the newer HOG games, but it has an interesting story and fun gameplay. I think the scenes are what really stood out to me, though. I felt like I was in actual place and really enjoyed spending time on most of the scenes. The sound effects created a nice ambiance, as well.
I didn't think the objects were overly hard to find -- hard, yes, but not overly so. I think it's an enjoyable difficulty, for the most part. I did it without a walkthrough, and it provided a lot of challenging gameplay. It felt longer than the average HOG to me.
At the very least, play the trial version and see what you think. It's a solid game.
I recommend this game!

The scenes and objects are composed of myriad junk that seems like it was just vomited onto the screen. It's a perfect example of a hidden object game in which no effort was made to integrate the objects with the scenery, and things are just hanging in the air in random places (like a wrench hidden in the fabric of a curtain, for example). The scenes and objects also get really repetitive, and the game repeatedly has you find the same objects in the same scenes. I wish I could say that the story made up for the poor gameplay, but it didn't. It struck me as somewhat nonsensical and needlessly drawn out. The game moves at a frustratingly glacial pace, and I found myself just wanting to have it over with. Obviously, games are meant to be fun, so wishing the game would just end is a pretty bad sign. It's not the worst game I've ever played, but it isn't worth buying.
I don't recommend this game.
