Okay, I won't comment on the story, since everyone has already done that. I just tell you what I thought of the game play.
Another ERS game, much like all the others we have had lately. I have a pile of their games and have thoroughly enjoyed them. This one, I'm not sure about. The graphics are nice, but are more cartoon like, and a little fuzzy. Seems like they are going backward in time with this one. Game play is nice. Voice overs okay, but a bit boring. There is a jump map and you will definitely use it...a lot. You return the the same are way too many times and play the HOGs more than once.
On the HOGS, they are very few and very far between. Extremely simple, quite clear and easy to find items. A lot of puzzles, which are also extremely simple. I like the cute and cuddley animals (yes, I'm one of those people#. Hint system is helpful...so much so that you don't really need the SG. SG is okay, but the pictures are fuzzy and very small, even when you blow them up. Someone needed to QA the SG, e.g., place skirt on it...what is it? Not hard to figure out, but point being...
You have collectibles to find, which are not difficult, as long as you remember to look for them. The clock in the upper right corner tells you how much time you have left before midnight. Play the game and you will figure out what that means.
ERS games use to be fun, interesting and challenging, but no more. Last few have been geared more toward the very young crowd...very young. Very disappointed in this one for that reason. Don't know if I will get this one even as an SE. It just didn't make me want to continue to see what happens or how it ends. No buy for me today. I will, however, recommend this for children or young teens #do they play these games).
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may find this one to be exactly what you needed. Thanks for the reviews.
I recommend this game!

Well, I never rehash the story in a game...been done by others. I just like to tell you how I felt about the game.
I really liked the graphics in this one. Color was very vibrant and fairly clear. Game play was nice. Music wasn't too bad...calming actually. Voice overs were good. Sounded tinny in the beginning, but cleared up when the actual game began. You can click through the dialoge everywhere in the game, except during the "story" part of it. It did need a little more of a hint as to what was going on in the beginning.
HOGs were nice, clear and clean. Items not difficult to find. Games were fairly simple, but some did take a little thought. SG was nice, but not really necessary. Hint system was helpful and filled quickly.
There was no real excitement to this game. Nothing that drew me in from the beginning and make me want to purchase to see what happens next. The coins are easy to find, but not sure what they are for #looked at achievements and still don't know#. The only challenge that I found so far is trying to find the morphing objects. They are extremely difficult to see and major eye strain watching for them. Otherwise, it was not challenging or difficult, but it was a nice game. Yes, I will get this game, but not sure if it is worth the price of a CE or if I'll just wait for the SE version.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the review.
I recommend this game!

This isn't a bad game at all, although the demo was extremely short, with no hint as to the length of the game. The colors are good, graphics a little fuzzy in places. Game play is very nice. Music isn't bad and does change depending on what is happening in the game. Not a lot of sound FX, but what there is, is very good. Voice overs are very good as well and appropriate to the time and place in the game.
The HOGs are very different and fun and quite simple. Items are not hard to find. Games are extremely simple. Did not care for the extra step you had to take with some of the items you found for your inventory. Just seemed a little childish. Also didn't care for the item sitting on top of the inventory bar...why have a locking bar when the bar doesn't move?
You have to find roses, which are not difficult to see. You also have to find "books" that need to be completed in order to progress through the game. These are not hard at all. This game is not really challenging, but is different...especially in the story. Not sure it is CE worthy, since the demo ended very quickly and no idea how many chapters are left to complete. Too many game have become beginner level games lately. The only thing I found interesting, was the story, but not enough to pay CE price. I will put this in my puddle and wait for a really good special, or just get the SE version when it comes out. Not sure yet.

Okay, I admit it, I am a HOG fan. That said, I do like to try other types of games and this one isn't too bad. I'm not a huge fan of match 3 games...one now and then in a game is fine, but not constant.
Graphics were a little too cartoony. Game play was nice. Very nice sound FX and music. This game was just too simple and a little boring for me. No real challenge or skill. My grandsons would love it. Very much for the younger crowd, and that is why I recommend the game. Not for me today.

Definitely a fairy tale, right down to the art work. Graphics aren't bad, although a bit fuzzy. Colors are quite vibrant. Voice overs are very nice and appropriate for the setting. Not a lot of sound FX, but what there is, is nice. Music is...okay, fairy tale music, and gets a bit annoying after a while. Jump map works well and is used frequently. SG is okay, but you don't really need it with this game. Hint system is helpful and fills quickly.
HOGs are few and far between, but are clean and have easy to find items. Puzzles are quite simple. There are 40 collectable eggs you need to find, and they are not very easy to see. They blend in to the background.
The one thing I didn't care for, which makes up the entire game, is that you cannot pick up items you know you will need along the way, until you actually click on the task itself. When you find the task, you then go back and pick up the items you need to complete it. This was boring for me. There is no challenge to this game. Most definitely geared to the children in the house, or a young beginner.
I'm sure there will be those who find this quite fun, but for me it wasn't. There have been very few games that I don't recommend for one reason or another, but even with the special today, I just can't bring myself to recommend this one nor buy it...just too simple. The quality of games have gone down drastically over the last year and just seem to be getting worse. BF needs to go back to "the old ways" and have a little quality control.
As always, try it for youself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may find this one quite enjoyable. Thanks for the reviews.

Hi, pond pals. Another nice game from Boom Zap and an addition to the series. I have the first two game and enjoyed them both. The graphics in this game is nice, very bright, and colorful. Nice game play, no problems during the demo. HOGs are different and fun and items are not difficult to find. Games are quite simple. The usual jump map, but not a lot of repeat running back and forth, which is nice.
I found the music to get very annoying after a while. There was no change, just the same constant drone of sound. No built up with sound FX. Voice overs were okay, but there was no excitement or urgency in the voices...very bland. Otherwise very quiet.
Hint system is helpful and fills at usual and customary rate. SG is not extremely wordy, like a lot of them, so had to read a few instructions twice. The pages automatically change when you have completed the instructions on each page. The collectables are very easy to find, although some blend into the background a bit.
The game moves rather slowly, which makes it a little boring. It lacks excitement or challenge. This one is not as good as the first two in the series. It's just missing that little something that sets it apart from everything else. I did not feel the need to purchase this game to see what happens next. It seemed geared more toward the beginner. It wasn't a bad game and I would recommend it, but I'm not sure it is CE worthy at this point. Tired of paying the extra for the few extra minutes of game play, and who needs the extra garbage they add, e.g. wallpaper, etc.! I'm putting this one in the puddle with the other two I have on hold. I'll either get it on a really good special, or just wait for the SE version.

Hi fellow pond pals. A refreshing change of pace with this game. The technology is very old school, but the graphics and game play were very nice. Colors are very vibrant and clear. There are no voice overs, which I think this could use, and very little in the way of sound FX. This is a very quiet game.
You cannot click through dialoge, so you are stuck reading everything. There is no jump map (you revisit locations multiple times, but they are easy to find). You start the game with a knife, which I used twice during the demo, and a lighter, which I used once during the demo. They stay during the game, so you don't have to hunt around for another one every time you need it.
There are a lot of puzzles in this game. They are extremely easy and some are repeated, as in most games. The skip button is almost instantaneous, so you don't have to wait forever for it to fill. Puzzles are so simple I doubt that you will use it. Very few HOGs, which are a bit cluttered, but items are easy to find. The hint button is quite helpful and fills within a very few seconds. You do have one item to collect during the game, but it is quite easy to see.
I believe this game would appeal to the beginner, and maybe some expert players as well. As I said, it is a very easy game, but well done. This is one of those games that you play when you are really tired of the dark and gloomy all the time. It is not challenging, but relaxing. Sometimes that's what you need. I am going to use a punch and get this one today, before I lose another one. I found this to be a nice game.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews.

Today's game has clean, clear graphics and nice game play. Colors are quite vibrant. HOGs are quite simple and easy to find items. Puzzles are very simple. Voice overs are well done. No, their mouth doesn't move, but it's a game, not real life. You can click through the dialogue for those who read faster than they speak.
Collectables are very easy to find, you just have to remember to look for them in each location and area. Tasks are straight forward, nothing difficult here either. SG is easy to follow. Hint system works well and fills fairly quickly. It's sort of a "no brainer" kind of game, so you don't really need to use the hint or the SG on this one. Some running back and forth, but not constant as in a lot of games. Jump map works well, but areas are not identified...like I'm suppose to remember where everything is?
There is a locking inventory bar, which I really like. Not really challenging and by no means edge of your seat type of play. By the time I got to the end of the demo, I was ready for a nap #not because I found it boring#. This game did not grab me, but I found it interesting and may get it for my collection. Nice special today, so for now, it goes in my puddle to see what comes up tomorrow. This game might appeal to the beginner, or the person who just wants to breeze through the day #as I do sometimes#.

The usual Elephant game. I have 3 of the first 4 Haunted Hotel games and really liked them all. Very nice graphics and game play, although there was a bit of a lag when jumping from one area to another. Color is very bright. HOGs are a little different and fun. They are clean and clear and items are not difficult to find. There doesn't seem to be as many as in other E games. So far, the games have not been difficult either.
The SG is very nice and easy to understand and follow. Hint system is helpful and fills fairly quickly. There isn't much in the way of sound FX, which is disappointing. Games seem to be getting quieter for some reason. The FX make a game. Voice overs are nice and appropriate for the time and setting. Music is okay, but could have added a lot as well.
This is not an exceptionally challenging game. Not much in the way of collectables either. There is way too much running back and forth, so grab an extra pair of shoes for this one. The jump map is quite helpful and a real time saver, but I still felt a little dizzy jumping here and there for only one item.
This is a pretty nice game and I am going to get this one and add it to my collection. I'm just not sure it will be the CE version. Tired of spending money on "wallpaper" and other stuff I really don't care to have. It doesn't make a game special.

Is this one done by the same people who did the first Dreamscapes? Not too sure. Graphics are very cartoon-like and a bit fuzzy. Game play is very slow and sluggish. HOGs are not very clean and I had to click more than once to pick up an item. Games are very simple. Voice overs are done well and are appropriate to the setting.
Music is not too bad, but gets annoying after a while. There is a jump map, or should I say "wrist" map, that is quite slow in movement as well. The hint system is very helpful and fills quite quickly. SG is okay.
This game is very easy and you really don't need an SG or a hint to follow what comes next. It is not a challenging game for the advanced player, but might be okay for the beginner. The story was "borrowed" from a far more popular dev and series, but not done anywhere near as well. There are very few games that I do not recommend for one reason or another, but this one just doesn't have anything different or special. As I said, the beginner may like it, but that's questionable. I don't feel that it is CE worthy by any means. Definite no buy for me, even with the special today.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and may find this one quite enjoyable. Thanks for the reviews.
