So so happy to find this game! After being turned off of every new MCF for years now (with the exception of the return to Fates Carnival), finally a game that captures the original feel and original fun that made this series so loved. Hidden object games are a dime a dozen these days, and the most recent installments of this series have really started to lose themselves, and feel just like every other game out there. Without an opening title screen you wouldn't even know they were MCF. While I know the series probably won't completely return to its roots, I am really really enjoying this game.
The HOP are challenging, but not insane. The characters are quirky and campy. Love having the case list again for navigation, as well as the level timer. I don't need to have five different types of morphing objects and a room full of achievements to have a good time. Honestly this is the most fun I've had with a HOP game in ages. But then again, I have been a huge fan since the very first game, so I have a real attachment to the original, ground breaking, series and style. This is most definitely not going to be for everyone.
I recommend this game!

Utterly clueless, but full of good intentions, Robert and Laura set out to save their world in this bizarre and imaginative point and click adventure.

I've been sad over the years as point and click games have gotten fewer and far between. Every couple of years a good one will pop up and restore my faith a bit. Was nervous about this one as BF doesn't tend to cater to P&C as a genre but so glad I bit! The game is very well done. Love the dialogue, love the characters and story, and love that it is a pretty traditional P&C. You need to have patience and put some time in for the problem solving but if you are a fan of the old style adventure games I definitely recommend you give this a whirl. I even love the art style. It may not be the most advanced graphically but the style is unique and captivating.
I recommend this game!

When I logged on and saw this game in the list I was floored. Was it possible that the MCF team had read the reviews of the latest games and..listened?? YES! This is exactly what I was waiting for and desperately wanting. Gone are the unwanted photo realistic graphics and real actors (which while nice when used as a garnish did work but over all seemed to take priority away from game play) and in their place we have a fun, quality HO game that fits like a glove. I think it is a good mix of puzzles and HO scenes, though there could actually be a few more HO elements if I have to find one criticism. The Madame Fate carnival feels familiar but also very new which is nice. We aren't playing the exact same game but each time I see an element from the predecessor I get a little bubble of excitement. I do miss the word games from the first one but I appreciate that this isn't trying to be a carbon copy, but to still enhance the original experience. Something I think they have done here without error. MCF fans have complained loudly for years that the games were going very astray from what we enjoyed and becoming something new and far less fun and enticing. This game fixes all of that. Highly recommended for fans and new players alike.
I recommend this game!

Just as much fun as the first game. I have been anxiously awaiting a third installment for years now, and I'm sad to realize it likely won't happen. The game is challenging but engaging. The pace is good. I love the characters, especially Pierre. Creating your own recipes is fun, though a little bit limiting. I didn't mind making the omelets and nachos, though making fries in the first game did make a little more sense. I know they didn't want to do the same game over again so the different foods did spice things up a bit. Over all I cannot say enough good things about this game.
I recommend this game!

I love this game. I bought it on a whim when the spooky holiday games were out and I have been so impressed I have played it year round. No other market based time management game has come close to the quality of this game. The graphical quality has a lot to do with it but it is well rounded good fun. I'm actually very sad that there isn't a second or third for me to continue with.
I recommend this game!

I used to wait anxiously for each new MCF release. The games were so fun, engrossing and the production values were amazing. All that seems to be left are the great graphics and high production values. Challenging puzzles? None. Puzzles at all? Very few. Hidden Object Scenes? Very few, and while they have tried to take them in a new direction, it just wasn't enough. I hate to say this, but I feel this is a serious case of fixing what wasn't broken. They used to have a perfect system. Fun puzzles, true hidden object scenes, spooky environments with good real human acting scenes. This one, and that last one (Escape From Ravenhearst) have felt nothing but phoned in. All I can do is pray that the design management changes and they go back to the format that worked and was fun. Make another game like Madam Fate or Dire Grove or Ravenhearst I beg you!
I don't recommend this game.
