The negative reviews I keep reading are because of the Redemption Cemetery formula but I happen to like this formula. Three ghosts to help redeem and one big bad guy. I personally love the three ghosts and their various stories of hardships they need to overcome. In my opinion the way the Redemption Cemetery series plays out does not need to be altered because it stays the course as the games we know and love and not every game needs to smack of originality they just need to be enjoyable. The way it is done is a security blanket comfortable warm and satisfying.
I had tried to play another of this series a year ago and for some reason it struck me wrong. I gave this game a chance though and LOVED IT! It completely renewed my interest in the whole series. The mini games are simple but fun and the graphics are just gorgeous. I am one of those people guilty of liking games when the story is already familiar like the Dark Parables series but this game was very creative story wise and kept my interest.
Every year when another addition to the Christmas Stories gets released it is like a harbinger of the holiday season and this new game kicked off my season with a glittery Christmas bang. The graphics as always are beautiful and festive. The story is soaked in the corny but heart warming spirit of the season message that I have come to love and of course as always the Christmas kitties hold a warm place in my heart. Also as a huge fan of anything Alice the game to me was especially enjoyable. I highly suggest that you purchase this game if you need a cure for the holiday blues because the spirit of it is very infectious!
The game kept my attention and I loved the puzzles but it's not quite on par with the first unseen fears which was phenomenal. While I did enjoy the game the story was lazier than the others have been and my fear is that the quality will start to drop like it does in a lot of series as they press on. Beyond that concern I found the game to be fun and worth buying but just not as good as the first two games. Hopefully these games that I have come to look forward to do not go the way of the dodo.
This review is based on playing the entire game including the bonus chapter. The Countess reminds me of the Ravenhearst games especially with the engaging and well thought out door puzzles. The mystery in this mystery case files game was also interesting and kept my attention. I judge how good the story line is by how badly I want to play the bonus chapter because that means I want to know more about the characters and to be given more details about the story itself. Obviously if I played the bonus content right after 2+ hours of game play the story was entertaining and kept my attention. Keep em comin MCF!!
Eipix is continuing to let Blue Tea take the reigns and the result has saved this series that is very dear to me. I have played all the games DP series over and over and still have fun with every play and it made me very sad when it started to take a nose dive after game 7. But have no fear Dark Parables is in the process of a triumphant return!! The only issue I have now is where is my teaser at the end of the game for the next addition to this awesome series?
I have always been a fan of this series ans have waited for the next installment with bated breath. The new addition is very well done. The mini games are a pleasant challenge and the HOP are good fun. The only complaints I have is that it is too short and the story line id kind of generic. Even with the generic story it was still very engaging.
The game was entertaining the mini games were challenging and i found the mystery to be engaging. I personally loved the mini games that had the lists of clues to determine where you set up pieces on a board and there were a few like that. I am not quite sure why this game got so many one star reviews but I played the whole thing and ironically my only complaint is that it is way way too short. I mean if the game sucked I would have been stoked on the short game play.
I feel like this series is finally going in a new direction. Ever since hangman this series has been a stalled one trick pony but this game explores some new options especially a new kind of story line. The game play is still on the rudimentary side but the new direction kept my interest. In short if they stay on this path the next game should catch the spirit of the older installments. Keep up the good work domini games.
This series delivers a good time and does not disappoint. Living Legends is one of the few game series that I can play over and over again and if i don"t have the CE I will always go back to buy it if I only have standard because the extras are well worth it. A good series to compare this to is Dark Parables which is also a great favorite of mine. The mixture of a few different beloved fairy tales with a new spin is extremely captivating and the graphics are beautiful. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Cinderella next!
