I love doing art games, but I can't buy the ones from this developer, no matter how interesting the pictures. There is one feature available in other games of this type that make all the difference, and that is the ability to change the background color. It is almost impossible for me to see the difference between the grey background this game requires and many of the colors it uses. Check out the Modern Art series...you can change the background to any of a multitude of colors, thus making it SO much easier to see what you're doing. I tend to use either purple or teal depending on the color scheme of the picture I'm doing and it saves on some major eye strain. If this developer would incorporate that one feature, I would buy all of their games!!
I have purchased all of these games, and I like this one best of all. It's a fun way to pass the time. I would have given the game five stars if only it had one added feature...when you have completed a color and the crayon disappears, I wish the developer would automatically highlight the next color. It's just annoying when you get in a rhythm and then you have to go down and select the next crayon. Those who want to could still select a different color, but for those of us who like to progress through in order it would make things easier.
I enjoy the Faircroft's Antiques games and have played them all. I usually like to replay hidden object games multiple times, but I will not be replaying this one. The previous games had a lot of dialogue, but only in between scenes. Now there is more dialogue than ever, and the worst thing is it now interrupts you in the middle of hidden object scenes, as well as before and after. Don't the developers realize just how annoying this is? I get that you can always skip the dialogue, but it gets old having to spend so much time doing that. Also, while the story adds to the interest of the game the first time you play, it just gets in the way when you replay the game. I wish this developer would cut down on the dialogue, quit interrupting mid-scene, and most of all allow us the option to turn off all dialogue. Unless that happens, this will be the last one of these I will buy.
