I recently purchased a different poker game from BFG & found myself horribly disappointed in the game play. I am a very experienced poker player & the game I got would not let me win no matter what strategy I used. Turns out that if I had read the game forum, I would have known what a dud the game was. So, I came back looking for a different poker game & found Magic Aces. No, it's not the typical poker around a table poker game, but what it is, is fun & challenging & different. Don't take my word for it, download the trial & try not to get hooked. I am a happy fishie now.

I wish I had visited the game forum for this game before buying it. I am a very experienced poker player. This game is nonsense. Don't be surprised that every time you think you have a sure hand, the other players will win out. Also, it's very common to get the same 2 starting cards repeatedly. As in, there is not a full deck used, unless they have multiples of the same suits... I have owned this game for 3 days now & I have completely lost to it twice. I have tried different strategies, but it seems that even on the 'beginner' setting, it's next to impossible to win consistently. I do expect to lose hands & even games, but every single one is just horrible. No fun to be had here!
I don't recommend this game.

I used to love playing games where you create & dress your character. I could spend hours finding just the right clothing, colors, hair color/style, etc. I had 10 characters in an online MMO just so I could have different looks.
In this game you can either use the clothes that they 'give' you, buy clothes from a store or best of all, design your own! It is a bit tricky at first to figure out the ins & outs & I probably spent 2 days figuring out how to match my colors/designs, but once you get the hang of it, it's great fun. You start out with a minimum number of each type of items, say 6 hairstyles, 6 tops, 6 jackets, 6 pants, etc. Your color pallet is a 12x6 grid. Though you can't make 'custom' colors, you can combine the colors, depending on one of many patterns, having more than one color in it. As you progress you unlock new patterns, style of items, etc.
To see your creations you design a 'custom' deck with your choices. Then you play the game part, which is where you are supposed to match what the model wants (1-3 things in a bubble over her head). She might want anything pink, a skirt & jewelry. Or she may want pants, a headband & something blue. You dress all the models (your goals are easy, progressing as you go, but I never lost a game).
This game is going to be great to replay. I have already redone the first 5 levels. You don't have to stick to any theme they give you, nor do you have to keep anything in your deck that you don't want. You can simply use the deck they give you & I am sure the younger players may do that, or you can simply buy what you want. I just prefer to design all my things. Wish there were more games like this!
I recommend this game!

That was what I named my farm in the game. Seemed fitting with Lisa showing up to the farm in high heels & a dress. This is a gem of a TM game. I own both this one & the second in the series & this one is my favorite. It's an easier pace & it doesn't take more than a few tries to get the best score on any level.
I loved rearranging my farm & planning my crops & merchandise. The robbers were not so great, but if you learn to keep stacking actions while circling your field (til you can afford the dogs), then you'll be fine.
Looked forward to more in this series. The games will always be an insta-buy for me!
I have looked over the other reviews here & it seems as if I was the only one who had an issue with the difficulty on casual mode. Since the only visible goal icon was to get 'expert time' in casual mode, that is what I went for. I wound up having to restart the game in order to stock up for future episodes, as I did not do that well enough the first time around.
I do own the first game in this series & enjoyed it tremendously. I do like that in this one there is no night time & no robbers, but Carlos wasn't much of a solution to that problem. I also had an issue with cows not giving milk, so I'd sell them as soon as I milked them & then replaced them. It was hard to know when to use the trader & when not to. I have completely finished the game in casual mode with expert time.... I guess that means I can beat it on expert mode next?
Preferred the other setting to this one. Wish they would add the option to turn objects/plots/gear/buildings, so I can organize my farm better. A fantasy farm would be my next wish or a flower farm maybe? Something with same mechanics, but completely different items (hens/geese & sheep/goats too similar for me).
I do love that they added the relaxed mode. I will probably replay in that mode. I just wish they had 'best score' or 'best time' to try to beat. Can't wait for the next one!
I got this almost immediately after I finished the first game in this series. I am not much of an HO player, but the first game pulled me in & now that I have finished this one, the second in the series, I am already buying the third.
I really liked that this one was not just a repeat of the previous game. Same house, different story, different puzzles, different scenes. I can see this series continuing indefinitely & I hope it does!
The only bad thing is that the game was over too soon. It may be average length for this type of game, but it left me wanting more. Maybe that just says how much fun I had playing it.
I don't play many HO games, but this one sucked me in on the demo & I purchased immediately. The storyline of a house that appears & disappears mysteriously was very interesting. I turned the sound off, due to some of the more annoying clanking sounds. I usually don't listen to the sound in any game though.
I liked that there was not too much back & forth & it was fairly easy to figure out what to do next. The hidden object scenes were good & I think I used a maximum of 1 hint per scene. The challenge level was perfect for me.
This game got me hooked on this series & once I finish the other games I will look for more like this.
Fun builder/time management game. You start off building tents on your campground. You build things like zip lines, bridges, gardens, fancy villas. You have an eco score that means you need to clean up trash & plant trees or build ponds. To keep the campers happy you will build anything from an ice cream stand to a pool or five! The later levels are really challenging, but in a good way. I like to go back to improve my scores, so having to replay a level to get my gold star doesn't bother me. You also get to decide if you're in it for the money or for the environment/animals- so basically it's 2 different story lines. I am replaying it so that I can see the differences. I really like the settings, the buildings, plants & such. It's really fun to 'host' events to increase the campers happiness.
While waiting to see what this weekend's sale would be, I re-installed this game. There are 3 game modes: Story, Timed, or Continuous. You need to play several levels in story mode to unlock other modes to play- sub-modes I guess you'd call them. I only play story mode to unlock other modes, as it consists of very short games. I prefer the 'continuous' mode on the main screen & then I switch around from 'normal', where you break 3 or more blocks of the same color, as more blocks drop from the top. In this mode, you go until 1 or more columns of blocks reaches the top of the screen. Then there is a mode called 'locks', in which the screen starts out completely filled with cubes & you clear as much as you can & any left are 'locked' (they have to be broken twice to be removed) & the screen is refilled. This goes on til you can't make any more matches. The third sub-mode is 'slider', which is alot like the 'normal' mode, except all the cubes on top of the bottom row slide to the right as soon as they are able to. The is also a 'puzzle' sub-mode that has various patterns of cubes on the board & you need to clear the board completely of all cubes to win. I have been playing this game for hours on end. It's very addictive & a nice rest from timed games (in the continuous mode). It's great to be able to switch modes as well.
Discover the fabulous secrets that a jungle hides in Adelantado Trilogy: Book One! Help the brave and noble officer, Don Diego De Leon, to find and save the lost expedition.
I played the demo of this game & was intrigued enough by the game & the great reviews to purchase it. I played it for a couple of days & got pretty far along, but I just got bored. Part of it was not being able to choose all locations of what you need to build. Another was the constant prodding of 'build THIS now'. I deleted this game without finishing it, which is a rare thing for me. I am sure it's a great game for plenty of people, as stated in so many reviews, it just was not my cup of tea. I suggest trying the demo before you decide.
