I haven't read the book and I am unfamiliar with this case in history and after playing this game it will stay that way. The plot is that you have to travel back in time with two investigators Alex and Kat to find the motives behind the heinous murder of an old woman. The dialogue was a bit tedious with loads of Russian names that looked like alphabet soup that took forever to try and pronounce and most of the dialogue did not stay visible long enough to read and take in and allow you to understand the generat gist of the game. The graphics were rather dark and dingy and the cut scenes were not very expertly drawn, which made most of the hidden objects very hard to find. The puzzles, however, were quite straightforward and did not present much of a problem. The story line was probably quite feasible but as I said I have not read the 'book' and can not comment on the authenticity. A reasonable game but not one of the best by quite a degree.

Dominic Crane visits his shrink to help him try to understand his dreams of different places he has never been to. At first this game was hard to fathom out, and it wasn't very clear what the object was or what the developers were actually trying to acheive. As other reviewers have written the puzzles gave no clues or hints of what was required but as the game progressed it all suddenly clicked and it all seemed to come together. It developed into a very interesting and rewarding game which did test the old grey cells a bit and was quite challenging in places. There was no voice overs and the written dialogue was just adequate enough to guide you through the game. The graphics were quite clear and colourful and the bulk of the hidden objects did not present much of a problem. The puzzles, however at times did trouble the brain a bit and others were very reasonable. All in all quite a satisfying and rewarding game. I enjoyed it and would recommend it .

Find hidden objects described by a riddle, complete the stages and then find a mystery object. Woopee. That's it. The annnoying, child like voice over was enough to drive you through the roof. Looking for the hidden objects was o.k. but that's about where it ended. Reasonable graphics, clear definition and no music. As I said great for the grand kids but I graduated from this type of game years ago. Not for me.

While investigating a murder which was at first thought to be a suicide, Gabrielle delves deeper into experiments which allow her to enter other peoples minds only to discover a shocking secret about her own past. No voice overs only written dialogue which begins the uninspiring trend that this game will reach. The graphics are quite dark in many places and are not very clear or colourful. The sliding, three dimension effect does not appeal to me at all. The puzzles are reasonable simple and hardly offer a challenge. The hidden object are extremely hard to locate in amongst the drab gloom of the scenes. All in all a very drab, gloomy, uninspiring and uninteresting game.

The plot seemed reasonable although a little far-fetched and fairy-tale like. Nichole and her side kick Igor must travel all over the globe in search of her father and on the way discover secrets that could effect the world. There were no voice overs just written dialogue and each chapter seemed to take forever to load. The music was passable without being great. The puzzles did not present a great deal of brain drain and were really quite straightforward. The hidden objects, however, was where I feel the game fell away dramatically. There were no standard type of listed things to find only scores of 'wagon wheel' type. A couple every so often would have been ok but when there were up to four fragmented h.o.s in each scene it made the game very tedious and boring. I found that to relieve the bordom I played it in stages having a big break between attempts. To me this game was tormentingly tedious, boring and lacked excitement. I recommend it but only just.

This is the second time that I have played this game and the interest is still there the secomd time around. The town of Sleepy Hollow is a quaint quiet little town by day but at night beware of the galloping hooves of the headless horseman who is seeking revenge from the citizens that wronged him all those years ago. There is written dialogue and the narrative which describes how each victim had decieved the hessian and how he invoked his revenge. The graphics are reasonably clear but some scenes are a bit dark which stands to reason given that most of the exploits were done at night. The puzzles were reasonably easy and quite straightforward, with not a great deal of brain drain. The hidden objects, however were a different matter, as a good number were very difficult to pick up in the gloom, some were fairly easy but the solving of the mystery at the end of each chapter where two lots of 15 of similar items had to be found, presented a problem, especially with the smaller items. The game won the best game award for 2008 and I feel that it can still stack up really well against some of the latest games.

Going by the title I thought it was going to be another one of those mushy teenage girlie romantic games but I was pleasantly surprised. O.K. it had some kissy and huggy moments and the story line was that Sandra had lost her first love 40 years ago and her father's last wish was for her to return to the beach house and retrieve the lost personal items before the house is sold, ever expecting the rekindling of the tragic memories of her lost romance. The story line even though it was basically a romantic adventure, was plausible interesting and realistic. There was enough written dialogue to aid you in your endeavour without bogging you down and the graphics were clear and bright, colourful and well defined. Most of the puzzles were quite straightforward with just a few giving a little grief. You had to proceed well into the game looking for objects to repair things etc before the first true hidden object scene appeared. The number of h.o. scenes did increase as the game moved on and most were medium to challenging to locate. I really enjoyed this game not because of the romantic overtones but because of the adventure aspect and I would definately recommend it to anyone.

I agree on most points with the previous reviewers with the exception that I did find the third herb and a glitch did not stop my game after 20 minutes. I too found that the magnifying glass next to the hint served no purpose at all. I also found that the game moved very slowly due to the slow jumpy movement of the arrow (cursor) and that the pointer had to be located exactly and precisely on the item to remove it. Anna's grandfather has succumbed to a terrible chinese curse that has laid him low and Anna needs to return to the temple to acquire a cure before it is too late. There are no voice overs only written dialogue and it is just enough to guide you through the game and let you know what's happening. The graphics are bright and clear and fairly well defined with only a few dark areas - the underwater views are not so clear. The puzzles were, in the main quite satisfactory and did not need a great deal of brain power but the hidden objects were a different story. Most were very small almost minute which made lining up a shaky cursor very difficilt. I perservered with the game until the end and did finally completed it but it was a challenge. It is not one of the best games to come out of the Big Fish pond by far but it is passable - but only just.

This game had everything - everything that we have grown to expect with Collectors Edition games. The story line revolves round the fact that your grandfather had been arrested and accused of piracy and you have to find the missing ship's logbook and prove his innocence whilst having the adventure of a lifetime. The dialogue is appealing, with some reading and some voice overs between the various characters. The graphics are well defined clear and colourful. Most of the puzzles require some thought as they are rather challenging but interesting and give a sense af acheivement with a successful solution. The shooting of bandits is a pleasant distraction from the main game and bonus points (lucky Clovers) are awarded for your efforts. Most of the hidden objects are reasonably easy to locate and some need to be found in a different area but occasionally a hint is required for the well hidden objects. I ended up playing this game twice as I did not realise the first time that a number of lucky clovers needed to be collected to activate the bonus section, and I did not hve enough to qualify. Some of the lucky clovers are quite difficult to find. All in all a challenging, interesting and enthralling game. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

On a journey deep into the jungle of a lost world a dastardly treasure thief has kidnapped a female professor and it is intended that she be sacrificed. Anna, who the despot is desperately trying to appeal to her affections, must rescue the professor before it is too late and recover the secret treasures. I found this game to be extremely involved and challenging with lots of back tracking and retracing of steps in an effort to solve intricate and multi facet puzzles most of which involved travel to a number of different parts of the jungle to set various parts in action to solve the whole puzzle. The hint button was more than useful in detailing all the steps necessary to complete the tasks and where to look for the clues, but this still made for a very challenging game which seemed to take forever to complete, but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I did not need to consult the walk through blog as all the help required was available in the hints. The dialoge was adequate and helpful and the graphics were very good, detailed and clear. There were lots of hidden objects scenes but these did not need too many hints but some of the puzzles were real doozies. A great game, needs patience and thought, but I thoroughly recommend it.
