I really enjoyed this game, reminded me a little of the old MCF games--eery and challenging. Some of the mini games were a little difficult, but you can always skip. The map and hints were very helpful since I got stuck a couple of times. Thought the detours into nightmares were pretty cool, and the different locations were interesting, too. As a former art teacher, I really liked the look of the scenes--colorful and clear. Wish there were more games like this one out there!
...it's just like so many other games. I loved the early MCF games but the last few are just not up to that earlier standard. They've lost the "creep" factor that the old ones had and that got me hooked on them. I also miss the live actors--they just made the story so much more believable. Anyway, this game isn't awful and a lot of it was interesting. The puzzles were different although I had to skip some because the instructions just didn't make sense (to me, anyway). It's still an okay game, and I'm glad I bought it.

Does anyone still use the word "charming"? Well, this game deserves that adjective. I'm well past childhood, but enjoyed this game very much. It wasn't terribly hard, but it was perfect for a holiday game--sweet with cute animated critters and great background Christmas music. I've liked all the Christmas Stories games and bought this one while it was still a collector's edition because I was afraid the other version wouldn't be out by Christmas (it was...I should have waited). If you're tired of scary/creepy games, this one is just right for a light fun game to pass the time.
One question: Why was the New York cat dressed like a cowboy? Thought that was kind of odd, but I just went with it.
I really enjoyed this game--Key to Ravenhearst, not so much. It was challenging (sometimes too challenging--some of the puzzles were really hard for me and even the guide didn't help, and when other reviewers wrote about how easy the puzzles were, well...I felt kind of stupid...) and the creep factor was back. That's been missing in the last few MCFs. I do wish they'd go back to including live actors; that really makes it more realistic and eerie. Anyway, I liked this installment and can't wait for the next one.

This game wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I've got all the MCF games and this one just doesn't fit. I missed the creep factor that the original Dire Grove, Return to Ravenhurst, 13th Skull, etc., had. Those had characters that intrigued me; this one basically had cardboard cutouts with a story that didn't make a lot of sense. I do like the minigames, although they drive me crazy and I always have to peek at the hints, but that part was the only recognizable thing amongst all the MCF games. I think I prefer the live characters, although a lot of people don't, because it makes the story more realistic. All in all, a little disappointing but still better than a lot of other games.
