I get frustrated with games that list as Hidden Object games and turn out to be run-around games with very few HOSs.
This game has great music, a story line that you can follow if you want or skip with a click. The objects are tricky to find. They can be in shadow, rotated, overlarge, in the distance, and one per location will require interaction. The scenes/objects are cleanly and clearly rendered. Graphic novel style. Simple and direct.
I stopped at the "Sculptor" to do my review. I LOVE FANTASY MOSAICS!!! When I see that beautiful sunny-side-up sun and the cool icy letters, I know I will have a lovely time doing puzzles. I so enjoy the tile-type puzzle but what sells me - every time! - on the Fantasy Mosaics are the beautiful background pictures, the music, the adventures of the penguin family and, now, the wonderfully changing palette. I'm continually surprised at how much gestural content they get into these pictures.
After Rupert and Emma receive a mysterious message, from their old friend Hani that the Jewel Boards were in danger, the duo must work fast to save both the jewel boards as well as Hani. But can they do both?
This game does not match up to the basic Jewel Quest, let alone the subsequent releases. I have most of the JQ series but I'll pass on this one. If you know the Jewel Quest line, you will see what I mean. If you have never played, I suggest you download the first or second Jewel Quest and skip wasting your time on this mis-named game.
I love this series! I love these penguins and their travels! I've been playing the multi-color games and today, for a change of pace, I went back to Fantasy Mosaics 1. Still a pleasure to play. Now, there are 6 possible colors! The art work has always been lovely and this game is no exception. No question: this was an instant buy for me!!

This game is beautiful and entertaining. The story line is a good one. It kept me guessing and wanting more. The art work is wonderful and clever, and it supports the story in a light hearted but yet spooky way. Very cool. There are lots of different puzzles plus morphing objects and other things to look for while playing. A very satisfying game. Definite SE buy for me.
I've played each of the Hidden Expedition releases, hoping for the same fun/HOS quality of the first three issues. This one has promise but I lose interest when the adventure aspect is so prevalent. I liked the puzzles very much. And what HOS there were were quality. But I won't be buying it. Good for one time.
My main concern is that, while beautiful, the items don't slide. It takes two separate clicks to swap instead of the less labor-intense single click drag. I enjoyed the trial if only for the lovely presents and decorations.

9th iteration and they are still making it a fun and entertaining pastime. The first addition to the meadow is a very freaky pussycat. And the rendition of plants and flowers is beautiful. Loving this one!
I recommend this game!

The Institute - A Becky Brogan Adventure
An eccentric doctor’s unconventional treatment methods have Becky Brogan scouring the grounds of a spooky Institute!
If you want adventure mixed in, this is not it. This is a true Hidden Object Game. No running around, back and forth, just objects to find. But, while I loved the first Becky Brogan for these reasons, I found I did not like this one. The scenes are way too dark to make out any detail, so the objects are not just hard to find but impossible. This Becky also did not have the charm of the first. I did like the dark, ominous music but that is not enough to recommend this game. One other thing: the name should be "Becky Brogan: The Institute." Then it would sync with the first Becky.
I don't recommend this game.

If you want adventure mixed in, this is not it. This is a true Hidden Object Game. No running around, back and forth, just objects to find. I loved it! This is what I want when I look for a HOG. Some puzzles, a story presented in comic book fashion and HOSs. Fun sound effects, too. The hint works like a geiger counter, very cool. And the pages of the journal are down right beautiful, looking like combinations of watercolor paintings and collages.
