The game is set in Munich and, yes, you are a detective whose assistance is requested, particularly since you are well-versed in strange phenomenon. As you prepare to enter Munich you encounter a fortune teller who informs you that your fate is connected to the Wanderer. Your paths are intertwined and you will direct him to either creation or destruction. The signs are indeed ominous with the longest eclipse in history overshadowing the city. When you meet with Herr Lehmann you find him investigating the case of a young woman who was incinerated in her very own carriage. Hmmm, this is truly an interesting beginning for the new Chimeras game.
The game offers four modes of gameplay: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, and Custom. In the custom mode you can set the hint and skip buttons to recharge in a range of 15 to 90 seconds. In the custom mode I also appreciate that I can turn off the tutorial.
Although the graphics are extremely good the artistic style seems different than in the first Chimeras game. The lip-synced voiceovers are okay but aside from the fortune teller in the beginning of the game, it is rather odd that for a game set in Munich the accents are certainly not Germanic.
Your tools include the interactive transporter type map and there is also a diary that keeps track of information you acquire during the game.
The HOPs are varied in style and the types I encountered during the demo were traditional list, find items by silhouette, and find items by the highlighted words in a story. However, only the list type had minimal interaction required. It seemed like there were more HOPs than puzzles but there was one super puzzle at the end of the demo.
The CE version of the game includes the following extras: 14 achievements, collectible Tarot Cards, morphing objects and morphing chimera collectibles, and achievements. Other extras include the standard items such as the Strategy Guide, a bonus game, Concept Art, wallpapers, music, videos, and the Secret Room
The first Chimeras game was absolutely one of my favorite all time games and I am not sure this one can compete. Of course one of the things that made the first game outstanding was the song played during the introduction, and we aren't treated to anything that spectacular as this game opens. The storyline in The Signs of Prophecy becomes more interesting as the game progresses and by the end of the demo I was hooked. I was captured by the mystery of trying figure out exactly who the Wanderer might be. Is he a hero or a villain? I am sure we will find out as we play this wonderful new game from the Mammoth team. Even though it quickly became evident that this is a game I had to have, I recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

With Halloween right around the corner BFG is bringing us the perfect game to get the festivities off to a start. On the game’s page Halloween City of Witches is classified as a HO game when in reality it is a match 3 game. At the beginning of the game we search for keys and perhaps as we complete more levels there will be HO scenes that we search to move forward.
The graphics are awesome and just perfect for Halloween. There are voiceovers and other wonderful sounds that set the stage. The game offers two modes of gameplay -relaxed and timed. I chose relaxed so that I could enjoy creating matches with no pressure to finish within a set time limit. As we complete the boards we earn gold coins that can be used to purchase power-ups or decorative items.
If you enjoy match 3 type games and want to jump into the Halloween fun, then I recommend that you try the demo. After about 30 minutes of fun, I decided that Save Halloween is the perfect game for me.
I recommend this game!

What a surprise! When I saw yet another mahjong game I thought “here we go again” but I really found that this is probably one of the best mahjong games in recent months. There is one mahjong game I own that has always been my go to game when I want to play mahjong but now this one is going to be my new preference.
The graphics are excellent and although the tiles are not large they are very clear. We have the option of selecting three different tile sets: traditional, numbered, or story related wolf tiles. There are two modes of gameplay – normal or relaxed. In the normal mode there are various challenges to meet in order to acquire gold stars. In the relaxed mode there are no challenges and the gameplay is more traditional. I tried both modes and even though I normally stay away from mahjong that is strictly challenge related I found that I enjoyed both modes of gameplay. The only thing that would have made this game better is if there had been voiceovers to augment the storyline but that is a minor detail that I can live without in this game.
Overall, this is an absolute must have game for me and one that will provide hours of fun as it will now be my mahjong game of choice. After playing the demo for a short time I knew that Mahjong: Wolf’s Stories was a keeper. If you like mahjong, I recommend that you try the demo to see is this is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Hidden Object Home Décor is another one of those games that seems very familiar and I feel like I had played it years ago.
The graphics are good but the music is very repetitive and to make it worse there is no slider to change the volume. The only options in the game are to change the mode of gameplay or to turn the sound off – period. This is an extremely bare bones, old style HO game. The other thing that rather annoyed me was the grammar in the written dialogue that is riddled with errors. That being said, I rather enjoyed the game. I know it’s weird but every so often I want just a plain HO game that can be played in a relaxed mode. There is an option where you can hold the control button on your keyboard and zoom into the scenes to make items larger. Since I prefer only using my mouse, I found that option didn’t work for me.
Yes Hidden Object is an old-school game that lacks a lot of features but nonetheless it is rather enjoyable. At least I enjoyed finding the objects in the scenes. Even though I enjoyed the game it might not be your cup of tea. As always, I recommend you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

I don’t know why Garden Shop seems so familiar but it feels like I played this game years ago. If not, then this developer has revamped an old game. If the game is new, it sure seems like an old school TM game.
The graphics seem colorful but the game opened with patterned bars on either side of the play area. There are no voiceovers only the annoying bouncy music that would make me crazy if I bothered to play the game more than five minutes. The game is very basic and offers minimal settings so it might be a great game for someone who is just dipping into the TM types of games.
The premise of the game is to serve customers – as many as possible – and fill their orders. Pick up their money and then buy more items for your shop. Yep that’s about it and I could just see myself becoming extremely bored in ten minutes or less.
I couldn’t play the game more than the first level and maybe there is more but I didn’t want to work in this Garden Shop any longer than my first day. As always, I recommend you at least try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy.
I don't recommend this game.

The kingdoms of Gellum and Igni had been at war for many years when the King of Igni brings his sons Ashbringer and Hark to the final battle. Just as victory is at hand, in one fateful moment Ashbringer beholds the beautiful princess of Gellum and in the blink of an eye the war was over and peace came to the land. Now it seems that Ash has a real “gem” of a problem and his lady must now save him. Well, even as his fate “crystalizes” his wife rushes off to save her beloved husband. We play the game as the queen and with the help of BIL Hark we encounter many obstacles as we strive to retrieve the Scepter of Healing.
There are four modes of gameplay: Seeker, Adventurer, Trailblazer, and Custom. In the custom mode you can set your hint and skip recharge times to your preference in a range of 15 to 90 seconds. The graphics are excellent with varying color palettes to set the scene. Voiceovers are excellent but some of the dialog is a bit schmaltzy and maybe Ash is overly fond of his “darling”. The music is very identifiable with the dev’s signature theme running throughout the background.
You have an interactive, transporter type map that is found at the beginning of the game and depending on your mode of gameplay or preferences the map will indicate where you have tasks to accomplish. There is a special tool that you receive from Ash at the beginning of the game, the Ring of Fire that will protect you from flames and bend them to your will. The ring will live on the left side of your user interface area. If you pay attention to the ring, you will know when to use it.
The HOPs are terrific and include a variety of styles. If you have played any of the other Nevertales games then you are familiar with some of them but I am happy to say that they all don’t revolve around the pages in a book. One of the things that I liked is that I often wasn’t aware that I was even in a HO scene until the light bulb turned on and then I had one of my duh moments. I also enjoyed some of the different types of puzzles in the game and even enjoyed the map navigation puzzle early in the game. It is only my opinion but this team brings us some of the most thought provoking games and includes puzzles that are generally a bit more difficult than the norm. I like the fact that they think out of the box and in the process create wonderful and challenging games. I don’t mean to imply that the game is overly difficult because it isn’t but it has a higher level of challenge and that makes for a wonderful gameplay experience.
Although I really liked the first game in the Nevertales series, they soon became boring and very redundant so I was very happy to see Nevertales Legends which is a departure from the other games. I am sure there is a tie in to the overall theme but Legends is different and I absolutely love it. The game is creative, with great HOPS and mini-games that all come together in a beautiful fantasy game package. Kudos to the developer for not being afraid to step away from the original series and bring us something new! I have to say that ASH is a nice piece of eye candy for some of us ladies out there in gameland. Overall, a job very well done and a must have game for me. I know that we all have different tastes to even though this game is perfect for me, as always, please play the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Today is your lucky day and you receive a phone call from the reclusive Calvin Reedley who wants to tell you a story about his past. Well maybe it’s not so lucky since you seem to suffer a major car malfunction on your way to the interview. Wow, it is fortunate you survived and escaped your car just before it toppled over the edge. It looks like someone certainly doesn’t want you making it to the interview and telling this story. You had better watch your back or this could be your “Final Interview.”
The game options include four modes of gameplay: Easy, Medium, Hard and Custom. In the custom more the hints can be set to recharge anywhere from 10 to 120 seconds and the puzzle skips can be set to recharge in a range of 10 to 400 seconds. You can also turn of the HOP error click penalty. As usual the graphics are awesome and the color seems to pop on my monitor. The voiceovers are excellent as is the entire sound package for the game.
You have the usual interactive map and fortunately there are no gimmicks in sight. Hooray, that makes two games this week where the devs have not included some type of magic device that needs to be charged before use. Oh, and no pet helpers either! We are on our own and using our own brain power to solve the mystery.
We have the usual excellent and varied, multi-level HOPs that this dev is known for creating. I always eagerly await their games and love their HOP segments. At least for me, the puzzles seem fairly easy but, alas, that seems to be the trend in HOPA games. Sometimes we have one that seems a bit more difficult but at least there is a bit of variety here as well. I don’t need to fill in all the details because if you want that information there is an excellent reviewer who includes that for you in her reviews.
IMHO, this developer always gives us the bang for our buck when we purchase their CE versions of a game. In the Final Interview, they have given us three different sets of collectibles to find and included morphing objects as well. If you are familiar with their games then you know where to look for the morphing objects. Of course the game includes the usual extras such as the Strategy Guide, Bonus Chapter, wallpapers, artwork, videos, and music. We can also replay the HOP scenes and puzzles. All in all an excellent CE package and with this weekend’s sale it is a true value and a game worth owning.
When I received my newsletter from the dev this week they said that it is time to say goodbye to the Off The Record series of games. As much as I hate to see the series end, at least this developer knows when it is time to put a series out to pasture and try something new. Personally, I have always enjoyed the Off The Record games so I will miss them. The Final Interview is an excellent game to put this “edition to bed.” I hope you will enjoy the game as much as I do but, as always, I recommend you try the demo to see if this is a game you will like.
I recommend this game!

League of Light is back with an excellent new game in the series. Given your impressive record for solving mysteries, the League of Light has called upon you and your expertise to track down and return an important artifact that has been stolen from its vault. Not only is the valuable artifact missing, it was stolen by the daughter of the League’s leader. Now you must find the missing agent and return her along with the artifact to league headquarters.
The game offers four modes of gameplay: Casual, Experienced, Masterful, and Custom. Thankfully we are offered the custom mode far more often now. Even though there is a custom mode, Casual and the experienced mode do allow you to modify several settings. The graphics are just awesome being extremely crisp and clear. Not only are the graphics top-notch the voiceovers are exceptional. I love artwork and could probably spend all day looking around in each scene because there is so much to see. The only comments about the graphics is that the cutscenes seem to be cartoonish and the other, and yes I know that it is nit-picking, but I don’t think people wore jeans during the game’s apparent time period. Guess it is considered artistic liberty to make the game appeal to a wider audience
Your tools include an interactive transporter-type map that is found early in the game. Although we see some cute animals and do rescue at least one of them, we don’t have animal helpers.
There is quite a good mix of HOPs in the game including all the favorites, and most of them require quite a bit of interaction to complete the scenes. I happen to like the variety that keeps things far more interesting. The puzzles are wonderful with some of them being very easy but others take quite a bit of thought to figure out. IMHO, the puzzles make the game so much more entertaining.
The League of Light series is one of my favorites and, IMHO, they just keep getting better. The team who brings us these games is one of the best and they always give us nice long games with a lot of detail. Although not everyone will agree, I think Silent Mountain is possibly the best game in the series, even though I did love the previous game – Wicked Harvest. If you are looking for a game with great puzzles, fun HOPs and a wonderful storyline you have found it. Even though I have been eagerly waiting for the game to be released and know that it is an instant buy for me, I recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Okay, I admit that I have a huge fear of flying and when the game begins with a plane exploding in mid-air I cringed and knew that I would have to leave my fear at the door as I stepped into this game. However, it seems that Jackie’s parents missed that flight only to meet their Destiny in another way. We once again play the game as Aunt Gray who has a special gift of being to go back into the past and see the actual events as they unfold. Will you be able to change the destiny of Alexander and Natalia Gray and thwart fate? What actually happens if we go back in time and change events? I know that I am going to be totally immersed in this new Grim Tales as I explore that concept and see how it all plays out.
Everything about the game is top notch with graphics and a sound package that bring the game to life. The game offers four modes of gameplay – Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, and Custom. If you choose the custom mode that is always my option when offered, you can fiddle with the settings so that you can play the way you like. In custom mode you can set the hints and puzzle skips to recharge in a range of 15 to 90 seconds.
Our tools include an interactive map that we find early in the game. I didn’t any any gimmicky tools and that was certainly a relief.
Of course being a HOPA game we have HOP scenes that include a variety of styles. The puzzles are typical and not overly difficult so there is not a lot to say. I happen to love puzzles in a game and fortunately, at least early in the game it appears that there are more puzzles than HOPS. The puzzles do range in difficulty with some being a bit more challenging than others but I haven’t found any that were real stinkers to solve.
The CE version of the game includes collectibles and morphing objects to find. There are 16 collectibles and 16 morphing objects scattered in various scenes in the game. Yep, there are achievements to earn that are acquired simply by playing the game. The remaining CE fluff is fairly standard and includes the Strategy Guide and a Secret room. Whenever we have a CE from this top developer we certainly receive a quality CE value.
I love this game and am very much enjoying the storyline. Threads of Destiny is a wonderful addition to the Grim Tales series and the continuing saga of the Gray family. Although, I love the game and it was an instant purchase for me, as always, I recommend that you at least try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy.

AWESOME! I am doing my happy dance this morning. I have been waiting for Fantasy Mosaics 10 so it was a terrific surprise when I saw it this morning. Our little penguin friend is back and he has landed on a prehistoric world in the beginning of the game which fits the theme of Time Travel.
As another reviewer said Fantasy Mosaics is the Gold Standard for this genre. No one does the pictograph puzzles better! The graphics are crisp and clear and so colorful. The grids fill my screen so no tiny little boxes to see with Fantasy Mosaics. I also love the beautiful background graphics that add so much to the game.
I purchased this game a couple of months ago to play on my Kindle but it is not quite the same experience as playing on my laptop. Now that Fantasy Mosaics is finally here on my large screen I have hours of fun ahead. I don’t manage to get through a day without playing at least one or two grids of the various Fantasy Mosaic games that I own. My favorites are games 4 through 10 that expanded the game with the multi-colored boards. Games 1 – 3 are still very good with great graphics but the boards are completed using only one color.
If you haven’t already tried the Fantasy Mosaics series of games I recommend them wholeheartedly. Hopefully, you will love them as much as I do.
