I love all of the Nancy Drew series games but this is one of my favorites. Storyline is great. The story takes place in upstate new york, I am from upstate NY so I was instantly interested. Then it got better when they showed the area code was 845, thats my area code! All the little extra attention to detail just made this game even more interesting for me. All that aside the game is fun and challenging. Highly recommend.

This game was ok for me at first. I liked the detective aspect of the game although going through each suspect became a bit repetitive after awhile. However, once I got to the case called "The short walk home" I was immediately turned off by this game. This case is clearly a very bad duplication of the Treyvon Martin case. For me, it was rather disturbing, especially the outcome of the case. The characters in this case even look like Martin & Zimmerman. There is no way this was coincidence and I think developers should stick to fiction when making these cases. Also, the game has no replay value. Once you finish each case they dont change if/when you replay the game. I dont recommend this game.

Toy Defense 1 has been my "go to" game ever since it first came out, so I was so excited yesterday when I saw TD2. Here are the differences that I've noticed between the two games & my review.
-There are 2 levels of play to choose from: casual & hard -There are 3 different "worlds" each has 24 levels & each level has about 7 sub-levels within them: World 1: Stalingrad, World 2: Operation Crusader, World 3: Operation Overlord. Unlike TD1 you can start playing on any world without having to complete the previous world first. -Collections screen: Allows you to modify your battle team. It also has storage space so that you can begin your next battle with different towers. However, you can only use this screen before or after a battle, not once you have started a level. -You gain more stars for completing levels than in TD1, making it much easier to upgrade your towers. -Your progress is saved within each level, so you can restart the game from the exact spot where you left off. Instead of having to restart the entire level. -You can retract the buy towers display at the bottom of your screen, giving you more viewing room. -The towers seem stronger than in TD1, more destruction resistant & each shot seems to produce more damage (even before upgrading). -Each new level has a preview screen, which shows the map of the upcoming field & what type of enemies you will face. -Can only move 2 towers forward to advance as opposed to 3 in TD1. However, you can spend stars to buy the extra spots to advance more men. -There are no longer flamethrowers, however there are tons of new tower upgrades:
I absolutely love this game, even more than the first one. This is definitely my new go to game. If youre a fan of tower defense games, I highly recommend this one! The only con that I've noticed, was also a problem in the first game.. lack of clear instructions, & for someone new to this type of game they may become frustrated until they figure out what to do.
A few years ago when I purchased the original Virtual Families there were things that I wished had been options in that game... they read my mind with #2. You still adopt your little person, they can get married and have children. They have careers and can advance in them. You still find collectibles in the yard and have challenges that are optional to meet. You still have a praise and scolding glove. You can still buy upgrades for the house. You still pull weeds, answer e-mails, clean up the house etc.
THINGS THAT I NOTICED WERE DIFFERENT FROM VF1: *You can personalize your upgrades for each room (ex: choose the type & style of furnishings) and there are many of each style of item to choose from. *Your little person can attend online courses for personal enrichment or take a career advancing course. *There are several rooms both indoors and outdoors that need to be fixed up before they can be furnished or used. *Your house is WAY larger than the house in the original *The music is different, several songs this time (all soothing) that play in a loop, unlike the 2 songs from the first game that while beautiful were rather sad. *You receive 25 coins each time you complete a challenge *The little people who make the most amount of money in their careers are usually the ones who do not want children. *The store has many new items to choose from *Many more characters to choose from *The game auto-saves automatically every few minutes
I highly recommend this game and I'm excited to get back to playing.
I usually love time management building games but this game is way too repetitive and way too much clicking. You have to click to pick up everything that your production buildings make, and if you wait too long to pick them up thieves take your profits. So the more buildings you have the more youre clicking and scrolling all over the place to each building before your stuff gets stolen. I played in campaign mode, there is also a casual mode without thieves or the wrath of the king for exceeding the time limit. Also, the scrolling of the screen is backwards. In most games that have a large playing field you click and drag in the direction you want to proceed, its reverse in this game. If you want to go right, you drag to the left. Maybe someone else will like this, I just found it too repetitive and boring.
I instantly fell in love with book one and couldnt wait for book two to come out. This game takes off where book one ended. If you're unfamiliar I highly suggest playing the first book and then coming to this one, theyre both incredibly well done. This game has 4 different modes of play: Hard, Normal, Easy, & Relaxed. Objectives are still the same as in the first edition. Youre given goals to meet in a day, and competing to finish them before your rival (and you do get to see his progress in comparison to yours). As in the first game, be sure to be on the look out for useful resources such as stray wood, clay jars (break them as some contain gems or gold), barrels (break them, many contain food), also scanning your mouse over unchopped forests often yields things like hidden gold, gems, and messages. There are also many messages hidden in the bushes, you'll want to chop as many down as you can without getting behind in time (it can easily become time consuming). However, some of the bushes are herbs that go toward a reward after all are collected, so it may be worth your while to cut them down quickly. Youre building houses for your workers and upgrading them or building more when you need more workers. Each production house you build loses its efficiency over time, so you need to upgrade them or build new ones when they stop working. For food you build gardens, have workers pick berries, & its also helpful when you find meat in the barrels. Youre given tasks to complete (some optional) by the natives and in exchange for gold, food, or wood, they give you things you need to complete your tasks or open up pathways that you need to travel. If you dont complete all of your tasks in the days time you can still continue with the chapter without starting over, but you wont get a gold score. I havent finished the entire game yet but with the last Book there were extra chapters that you only got to play if you made gold scores on all the levels. I highly recommend this game. Its fun, the music is peaceful (same music as the last game), you can choose your level of challenge, so there is instant replay appeal on a harder level, and the characters are so chubby and cute lol, love it! Best game Big Fish has given us in quite a while!

I absolutely enjoyed this game. The hidden object scenes are beautiful, crisp, clear, & bright. Some of the scenes are very cluttered but its honestly so beautiful that I didnt mind that at all. The music is cheerful holiday music, never felt the need to mute my speakers. There are snowmen hidden in each scene, find them to score extra points. There are mini games woven throughout, match 2, spot the differences, and more. Even the cut scenes are beautifully made. The hint button recharges quickly. The only complaint I have is a tiny one. When asked to find a purse in one of the scenes, there are 2 purses in plain sight, but click them and get nothing, what they called a purse actually turned out to be a hip pouch on an elf. The game offers just enough challenge with some of the objects being hidden behind other things or inside of other things. So you'll need to pan the scene and look for your cursor to turn into a magnifying glass. This is a very well made game, which I enjoyed a lot & will be purchasing right after this review. And if youre having a bad day ( like I was today), this game will surely lift your spirits. Highly recommend.

I'm a fireworks addict, I live for the 4th of July, so when I saw that this game had fireworks AND explosions I was pretty excited to download the trial. What a major disappointment it turned out to be. Its a unique idea for a game though, you have to figure out where to place different types of explosives to hit your targets while not hitting other other objects nearby. The main objective in each puzzle always stays the same, set off the boxes of fireworks. However they do add goals to certain levels in addition to your main objective. Some of the puzzles have height restrictions for where you can place your bombs, others have steel beams which you cannot place bombs on & which arent affected by the bombs as well, youre also not allowed to damage any red colored objects. They do give you about 4 or 5 super bombs which you can use on some of the harder levels to instantly get through the level. As you move up levels the challenge increases. Ex: A red car on your left, a pile of stacked gifts with the bottom box being red all piled underneath 2 propped up pieces of wood. And 3 planks of wood forming an arch near your target: 2 boxes of fireworks. Youre given 2 regular strength bombs & 2 that are a bit stronger. So you have to figure out where youre going to place your bombs on the wood within the height restriction so that they fall and hit the boxes of fireworks to set them off...without damaging the car or the gifts. Which is not as easy as it sounds, in later levels they place the beams so far away from the targets & add so many restrictions that it seems impossible to get off the level without using a superbomb. There is no hint button (at least none that I saw), so you can easily become stuck on levels until you figure them out. The carnival music in the background quickly becomes annoying. The scenic backgrounds are beautiful and well done but after a few levels of just blowing things up it quickly becomes VERY boring. Was OKAY for a trial but definitely not something I'd spend money or even a free token on.

My review is based on the trial. This game is an adventure hog and has mini games. The story is there was a scientist that believed there was alien plant life living on earth. That scientist passed away and his daughter (a botanist) ends up being sucked through a plant portal and trapped in a world called Botanica. Over time there have been several other people who ended up stranded in Botanica as well. You play the Botanist who has to figure out how to get back to earth with the help of another stranded scientist named Ian. The world they end up trapped in is absolutely beautiful. While exploring, you get to ride giant lizards and dragonflies. All while trying to avoid an evil Queen and her soldiers who are looking to capture you. This game reminds me a lot of the old 80's movie Neverending Story. During the hidden object scenes finding many of the objects requires you to do multiple tasks for each object. ex: youre told to find a burning leaf. there is a hammer in the room in 2 pieces, you have to put the hammer back together, break a glass beaker, then place a piece of the broken glass in front of a hole in the wall so that the sun catches the leaf on fire. During the adventure scenes there is a lot of back and forth to different areas. You really have to remember where you saw certain items before because youre most likely going to have to come back to them at some point. I know a lot of people dont like all of the back and forth, I do though. There is also quite a bit of dialogue in the game, but you do have the option to skip all of the dialogue or just that particular conversation. There are 3 different levels of play: easy mode: direct hints, guided help, & quick hint recharge. Normal mode: vague hints, guided help. Difficult mode: no hints, no mini game skip button, no guided help. Using the hint button in easy mode recharges quickly and tells you exactly where to look for things or what to do. During the adventure scenes you have to pan the screen with your mouse and look for your cursor to turn into a magnifying glass (to search that area) or a hand (to pick up objects). Overall, this game was very well made, and the storyline is so different from the games we've been seeing on BFG lately, its a very welcomed change for me. Definitely a game worth purchasing.

I dont think this game is as bad as some of the previous reviews have stated. I purchased the game after the hour trial was over because (no spoiler) I was convinced the killer was the male lead detective, and I just HAD to know. However, this is a very short game. I downloaded the hour trial at 8am, it is now 10:19am and the entire game is over (AND I took breaks, so its even shorter than 2 hrs). The storyline is great, although the title of the game doesnt have anything to do with the actual game itself. The graphics are so-so ( I've seen worse), music gets to be annoying after awhile, BUT this game does have a few good points as well. Its simple, which is nice if youre just looking for something to play without having to think. The mini games are actually pretty good, better than the game itself in my opinion (especially the firing range). In the first 3 cases you have to make a guess about how the victims died. if you make a wrong guess you are penalized with a match three game! Not kidding either, you'll be taken to a match 3 game and told to "think about why you guessed wrong" lol, I felt like I was put in a time out for guessing wrong. There is also a lot of pointless clicking, ex: you have to find 10 clowns that have nothing to do with anything just so you can go back to the station. The game wouldve been a lot shorter than it is if these two detectives were good at their job...lol...they leave a lot of things unsearched, which you end up having to go back later to look at. Then there is a language issue a little bit...ex: youre told to look for a torch, which turns out to be a flashlight. That happens a few times throughout the game with different objects. Overall the game isnt a completely horrible, but I did find myself just wanting it to be over as it got closer to the end. After you complete the game you have access to all the mini games as well. I cant honestly say that I recommend this game, its way too short. Perhaps if the victims/scenes rotated or were different when starting over then it MIGHT be worth purchasing but I say save your money for something better.
