This is a brown game. Everything is a shade of brown! And there are two modes, dark and darker - What will it take to convince these game-makers that we are tired of the dark and tired of the occult. Surely someone can make another light, bright and delightful game like Royal Trouble! Please don't let all future gaming remain grim and gloomy.
I don't recommend this game.

Simply dreadful "game" and so unlike its predecessors on just about all levels. Like many, perhaps most, HOG players, I use the game to relax. That means no timed sequences, no penalties, well lit scenes and no head hammering pop ups. This game fails all. Skip it.
I am impressed by the vastness of this game world and appreciate the artistic talents involved but they should have also hired an adventure gamer as consultant. Instead, they now offer the player hours and hours of what we have come to hate about adventure games - the back-and-forth need in order to progress. And I'm not talking about an annoying little pointless travel to pick up just one tiny item, I'm talking about hours of it!
I'd also like to give the team credit for including a map, but I can't. The map is useless.

The above blip tells you most of what you need to know about this game. Here is what I can tell you after playing the demo: - the game is TOO DARK - the music is wrong for the atmosphere - this game has the most annoying ambient sounds I have ever had to suffer through - even with that feature turned all the way down, it simply persists in annoying! - the graphics are cloudy or grainy - the indicator will drive you nuts with a magnifying glass over just about everything in each scene. - the text distraction keeps bringing your eye to the top of the screen every time you click where the magnifier is.
Twenty minutes was all I could take and I wouldn't consider a purchase even if it were an SE game!

Never before have I played a game that is not only unusually short but also ended while I still had puzzles to solve and inventory to use. Something is really wrong and I cannot recommend this game to people who expect fair play for their dollar.

I don't remember the music but I know every screen of this game. Since I can't find it in my purchase group, I suspect it has been renamed and, if that's true, how unfair. I think it has been a couple of years since I played this but I haven't forgotten it. I know this isn't new!

Such a cute game to idle away spare time. I actually would have bought it except for the fact that there is no "back one move" option. The annoyance of starting from step one when you make a wrong move helped me decide to pass on this.

No story, no outline ... just pure, bright colors set up for a peaceful hour of play. Then I get called away after only 10 minutes and ... I cannot quit the game! So 10 minutes of play and 50 minutes of the clock ticking while I was called away. What were they thinking?
I cannot persuade myself to purchase a game that exhibits such lack of planning. Good grief! Where is the product QC at BFG?

I've just finished playing the demo and, since you have the game outlined for you in previous posts, I would like to comment on aspects other than story line. The graphics are not breathtaking, they are good - perhaps very good would be a better description. The HO games are wonderfully bright! The are uncluttered and the items are fairly, cleverly hidden.
Voiceovers are easy to listen to but, if you are a fast reader, there isn't any way to fast-forward the dialog - your only option is to skip the scene altogether. Puzzles are, for the most part, not difficult and inventory use is clear. I enjoyed the demo but will wait for the SE version. Lately, few games merit the CE cost.
I wish players such as myself who collect HOGs as a way to relax and enjoy some quiet time would collectively tell the creators of these games that they are losing focus. The games seem to be morphing into another genre and I can only say that such a move will never work. Stick with the customer base you have and continue to bring back the light into the dark and gloomy games! Oh how I wish for another Royal Trouble!
