I normally don't go for these types of time management games, but this one is really well done (and the first time I used 2 credits on a TM game and I don't regret it at all). The graphics are fun, not sure whether the story line is THAT interesting, although it does tie everything together, and the strategies you have to come up with are constantly getting harder and harder. Loved the one level where I though "aw, shucks this looks easy" until the earthquake came and messed everything up!
I'm always striving for the gold - so I find myself yelling at the computer "move faster guys" or "no no...go here, not there". All in good fun!
The guys who trade one thing for another, I do wish they would stop yelling (can't tell you WHAT they say, just sounds like mumble mumble to me) but that is no reason not to thoroughly enjoy this game. You find yourself even doing the same level over trying to get a better score.
The Drawn designers did it again. They manage to create a very unique series of games, that take interactivity to a new level. Yes, unfortunately each of their games are too short and tend to end a little abrupt (I even thought this of the first one - or maybe we just enjoy them so much that we don't want them to end) but I still keep coming back for more. With my club membership, I feel like these games are always a good deal, and you can not beat the illustrations, story, music or the voices (great choice of actors). Keep them coming, on the Mac and iPad. I own each game for both platforms (waiting for this to be available too), and enjoy playing them in either one.
I've played the first DP game, and am thrilled that I missed Briar Rose in between because now I have another one to purchase right now. Snow Queen was really good. I am not a favorite of HOGs, so what I love about this is that you are not hunting for useless items (I mean how many hot dogs and roaches can one stand to look for in a HOS) but instead you are looking for pieces of an item to put together - an item you then use in the game. That is a great mix, bringing everything together - and it all makes sense. Thanks, I can not wait for another installment in this series. They have lots of fairy tales to use, so keep the DP games coming!
I really enjoyed both of the Midnight Mysteries that are available, and even bought one for my iPad so I could enjoy it on the go. Great graphics, a storyline that isn't boring, and you don't drown in HO scenes (sorry but I like games that offer an array of puzzles and searching for items). Wish we could get the Edgar Allen Poe version for the Mac, that would be perfect!!!
I was never a favorite of HOGs, but Penny Dreadfuls set itself a part from others. The puzzles were intriguing, and of course the story plot was good and well translated from the original into a very good game. I found the quality of this game to be up there amongst some of the greats like Drawn and Midnight Mysteries. The graphics, story line, puzzles and overall feeling were created perfectly. Thanks BFG for bringing another great game to us for an even greater price.
