It should be made clear this is an adventure game where you wander the world finding interactive hidden objects interspersed with a variety of challenging puzzles. There are no list-style HO scenes as you typically see in a HOG.
I am a huge fan of Azada games. The puzzles are original and challenging but have a solid foundation in logic which makes them possible to think your way through.
I definitely recommend In Libro, although I far preferred Ancient Magic's style and storyline. I would have awarded 5 stars but at the CE price - it was a bit shorter, 5 or 6 hours of play, slightly less challenging than previous Azada games, and seemed a bit rushed to release (a few minor errors in spelling, etc).
An "okay" value - I still had a lot of fun thinking my way through the puzzles and storyline. I would buy it again.
A mysterious fortune teller has foreseen her demise at midnight this very day. Can you find the soul who seeks to kill Madame Fate? You be the detective.
Huge praise for Madame Fate from a diehard TM fan.A truly entertaining HOG and probably one of the best value games I've purchased on BF. The game length was a pleasant surprise but I was already sold with the perfectly balanced dark and zany storyline. It reminded me of the boardgame Clue... with a dash of twisted humor. The HOG scenes were challenging without being ambiguous and the puzzles were fun and original.
Definitely my favorite MCF, have replayed it twice and I'm sure to visit it again.
Hands down the worst TM I've come across and I play tons. The concept is decent (who doesn't love pet stores?) but the execution completely missed the mark. It would have benefitted from a lot more time in quality assurance, it was definitely not ready for release. Very buggy, poor instruction, minimal storyline and just overall bad.
If you plan to purchase, make sure you trial it first!
Azada: Ancient Magic lured me into the adventure games genre. The puzzles are challenging and require skill and patience, probably not for beginners. If you frustrate easily, you may not enjoy the Azada games but this is definitely one of my personal favorites. I was thrilled to find puzzles that were intellectually stimulating versus mindlessly clicking my way through.
May be a little slow paced for TM fans overall. Not super challenging but entertaining enough to keep you engaged most of the time.
Has various TM elements - gather ingredients to create foods from recipes that unlock throughout the game, buy upgrades to simplify jobs, etc. Very similar to the Virtual Villager type games (collect items, research tech points, build houses to increase population, etc) but it appears you have to be actively playing to progress. One thing I favored in this game was the ability to buy workers, versus making them breed which is unpredictable and sometimes annoying.
Took several hours over two days to beat, good value. Bought it for $2.99 as a daily deal - definitely worth it - but probably would have paid $6.99 regardless.
