I have enjoyed previous games in this series, but if you can't win a level without an immense amount of luck is spoils the fun. I got stuck on level 26 and have been unable to win the level and there is no skip option.
I don't recommend this game.

I enjoyed The Black Cat, but found this game wanting. First, the story line of the game has nothing to do with the Poe's story of the same name. The writers should have tried hard to bring in elements of that story. Even a non-writer like myself can think ways to have done that. The historical anachronisms really got to me. Poe died about 1849. There were no typewriters, no airplanes (toy or otherwise), and no electric lights. (What are they teaching them in these schools.)
I don't recommend this game.

I am a fan of the MCF series, but this was a disappointment. On the plus side, I liked the art and the live actors were good. The basic storyline is not bad but they could have done a lot more with it. The big weak points are the lack of variety and cleverness of the puzzles. I got tired of the doing basically the same things in each "episode". I really got annoyed with the floating blocks - I hit the skip button on the last two levels.
I got the feeling that the creators sort of phoned this one in. I am glad I did not get the collector's edition, but will probably get the next MCF game - as long as my system will support it :).
I recommend this game!

I really liked the crisp graphics - I can think of some other games that could benefit from similar such. The story is very atmospheric and I hope the sequel comes out soon since the game ends with a cliffhanger.
My big quibble is - as with many hidden object games - the historical anachronisms, not necessary to the storyline. This story takes place in the early 19th century, but the game includes gramophones! Edison did not invent the phonograph until 1899.
I recommend this game!

I love this game series (Midnight Mysteries). I like the mix of history and fantasy. This game has few anachronisms than a lot of the games than include time travel in their story lines. (I do hope there will be a Mac version of Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allen Poe Conspiracy.) I suggest H. P. Lovecraft as the subject of the next game.
I recommend this game!

This game needs a waring label. It is definitely addictive. My one quibble is one I have with most timed games. There needs to be an option to increase the time length. Some us older folks do not have reaction times we had when we were younger.
I recommend this game!

I very much enjoy this literature based series. I have played this and the Nathiel Hawethorne one and found both intriguing. I wish the Edgar Allen Poe game was available for Mac. (Hint, hint.)
I recommend this game!

Enjoyed the game. It nice to have a game that is not intense but takes some skill. However, history it is not. Tomatoes were unknown to the ancient Egyptians. Tomatoes originated in the Americas.
I recommend this game!
