I loved this game. Storyline was great....huge, ancient snakes are about to destroy earth. The light people from Nibiru are here to help us save our world. -There are sooo many locations to explore.! -It was a very long game (good thing). Too many games are excellent but too short. -HOS are interactive and interesting. not too jumbled. There are also scenes where you replace items back into the scene (love the change up). -4 puzzles and 24 minigames. -40 beyond objects to find (yea!!) I just thoroughly enjoyed this game. Some are too tedious or have too many HOS, but this one was just right. -great collectors edition value. Highly recommend not missing this one!!

Based on the demo, I really liked this game. The characters were well done and, the guy in the cabin.....beyond spooky! There is a bit of back and forth with this game and it is a bit dark until you are able to put together your trusty lantern. ** I loved the 2 HO scenes I came across, some items were just basic click and find and others were very interactive (find multiple things to get what you need). **I liked that I got to choose my response when the man at the cabin asked me a question. **I did have to refer to the guide a couple of times b/c I got stuck on what to do next and I tried the hint button and it simply lit up an item in my inventory but still didn't tell me what to do with it. *You can view some items in inventory close up as you may need to combine them with something else or break them open to get another item and I thought this was different and much more enjoyable than just....pick up an item and use it a couple of scenes later. **Not too many puzzles in the demo but they were not too hard & not too easy. I did go ahead and buy it b/c I liked the demo alot and didn't want to wait for the SE but as it doesn't have collectibles, achievements, or even a map....I don't think it really warrants the CE price.....but, hey- I get paid tomorrow, so I splurged! Great game, but due to lack of extras, I'd wait for SE.

Your evil, inventor grandfather has left you his estate when his ghost escapes from the crypt in the basement and will permanently return when the upcoming eclipse occurs. You have to fix an energy gathering lamp to capture him and save the world! -3 Modes (I played the demo in advanced...2nd of 3 modes) -No map (not needed...at least, not yet) -Diary with pictures and you can zoom in to read letters & other things you may find. -Strategy guide was helpful when I got stuck on a chess game -Hints are helpful, even outside HO scenes (it will show you a "vision" of where you need to go with area highlighted) -No click penalty in HO scenes. -Lots of puzzles and they are nice, challenging variations. Not the typical, but not too frustrating either....very enjoyable. -I am NOT a big HO scene fan but I found myself looking forward to them (there were 3 in the demo). .... ---1st was a scene where you needed to replace items into the scene (rather than find them) ---2nd was a scene were you needed to replace a few items and then a list would come up to find other items and when scene was complete, a little "scene" played out to give you the item you needed (very original!). ---3rd was a straight, list HO scene, but not cluttered nor tiny items to find. Even though it's the typical, evil ghost...save the world kind of game, there is alot of originality and I am certain to buy this game!!

Based on completed game. Best puzzle/adventure game I've played in a long time!! There were no hidden object scenes (which I usually don't like anyway unless they're very interactive#, but the entire game played like a HO scene as you'll collect pieces of the stolen dreamcatcher thruout the game. -- Also, there are over 100 "beyonders" to find thru out the game which look like eyeballs and turn into spiders, flies or worm looking things when you click them #I love searching each scene for stuff like that#. --The scenes reminded me of the "Drawn" series of games with similar graphics and colorful, beautiful areas to explore. I loved the being in the different dream scenes and some #like the snakes, roller coaster, etc...) were very real nightmares for me. Great storyline and ended well but definately be waiting on a sequel! There were about 12 chapters and took me about 2 days of casual on and off game play. VERY enjoyable!!! Can't wait for the next dream!

Based on Demo: I'm not going to repeat what everyone else has said...good graphics, interactive ho scenes & interesting puzzles. What I really liked..... You get to find & collect scents & recipes to create perfumes (since the bad guys killing women with a "perfume bomb" that dehydrates her body#. What I didn't like.............. --I know others are saying there are collectibles to find, but I'm a pretty experienced player & I haven't found any yet. --Everytime you click on something, it doesn't say "i need a key" or "I'll have to find the pieces to complete this"...it only says something like "what can I use here" and sometimes i found myself trying everything in my inventory to figure out what I needed #it may be something I don't even have yet#. I found this extremely frustrating #as did another reviewer#! --Hint just points you in a certain direction, but there's a strategy guide if you get the CE. I really enjoy the fact that you get to find scents & create perfumes as that's really different, but since I can't find any collectibles....I can't see spending $13.99 for it. I'll wait for the SE.

Based on 1 hr demo play.... You've inherited a mansion and strange things start to happen once you get there...surprise! (at least you don't have a car crash...lol#. This is by Bicycle games. Never heard of that developer but I'm always up for something new. -2 Modes...Casual & Expert #I played on expert# -There is a map that shows active areas #that was helpful# but no auto-transport to other locations, although not needed. -There is a task list that tells you what you need to do #helpful at times, but I don't really like having my hand held#. This is where you'll find the map. -There is also a "diary" that gives some helpful hints. -I used the hint button in regular gameplay and it lights up areas showing which way you can go and puts lit up hands on areas that you need to investigate. There are no written clues....only glowing hands and arrows. The 2 times I used it though, I figured out what to do with no problem. -The HO scenes are very interactive, which I love! Ex: If you need to find a glass of wine.... you have to find a corkscrew to open the wine bottle to pour in the glass. The scenes are a bit cluttered, but it's not too hard to find things. I think there were 5 HO scenes in the demo & I used one hint. -The items to find in the HO scenes are pretty well known #except who knows what a "blunderbuss" is??# and look like you'd think they should. -There is a penalty in the HO scenes for clicking too much, too quickly, but penalty doesn't last long. -I think there were about 5 to 6 puzzles in the demo as well. A couple were really easy and a couple were interesting and fairly challenging. The game is pretty linear and makes sense so you can figure out what you need to do. -Music is pretty mild and not annoying. -The character #I've only seen one so far# is a real person but my only complaint is the voice actor is a horrible actor! This isn't too bad though, b/c there's not that much dialogue. The plot is interesting, albeit the usual haunted mansion, save someone type of storyline. I haven't decided whether I want to buy or not, but I really like how interactive it is, so I'll probably use a free credit to continue.

This game is what I've been waiting for! This is based on demo only but I'll be buying shortly after this review! The shade is back, although he's weak and now you're helping Fiona find her teacher, Ms. Thomas at her school so that you can find relics to permanently defeat the shade. -3 levels of difficulty -Interactive map -collectible fairies to find along your way -very interactive ho scenes. This is what I love. It becomes more like a puzzle than just a plain, boring ho scene. -when you're done with ho scene, the area's still active as there is usually something else to do there, so it's not just an area added to the game to be a ho scene. -I haven't even had to use the hint yet, so I can't comment on that but it's not just b/c it's too easy....it's just laid out well and it's common sense to figure out where the items that you pick up are supposed to be used. -Music is nice and unobtrusive. -great scenery and conversations are spoken as well as written. You can "click to continue" so you can speed it up if you finish reading before the character's finished talking. I've just come to portals to take me to other worlds so I can look for items to defeat the shade, so it looks like the game will be a good length. This is the first "must buy" game I've come across in a while now. Once again.....great job Boom Zap! Highly recommended!

The trial game play would seem interesting enough to draw people in but the storyline itself could have been developed much better than what it was. It has potential and I expected a twist at the end but it seemed to "twist" the wrong way. There were alot of unanswered questions and I couldn't figure out who fit in where in this story. The puzzles were ok. A couple unique and new. Good balance of HO with puzzles but they are fragmented HO scenes and I'm not a big fan of those. Hint recharged quickly. I just can not express how Horrible the storyline development and explanations were!! Thank goodness I bought this on one of the buy one, get one free weekends!
I don't recommend this game.

E.P.I.C: Wishmaster Adventures
Experience an incredible space adventure in E.P.I.C!
First, this reveiw is based on the free trial. The graphics in the beginning are really poor but as game play continues they do improve. This isn't your typical HO, puzzle, adventure game. Once aliens abduct you from your mean uncle's farm, your ship crashes on what appears to be a deserted, floating island. You must search for items and some that you aquire must be combined with other items before you can use them. So, as I aquired items, I immediately tried to combine them with all other things in my inventory. I can see where people may be confused on what they have to do, but this game doesn't hold your hand. You have to look around and try your inventory items on active spots -usually shown by a hand. -The two puzzles that I came across in the trial were fun but not too hard. -The HO areas -I came across 2 in my trial- are interactive. Some items are small and hard to see or are camoflauged in the background. I had to use a hint once on each of the two scenes. It makes it easier to find the items 1st that don't require an action to find them -as the ones that can't be found without an action are indicated in a different color. Then, once you open a hatch -for instance-, the things that are hidden in that hatch will change color so you know what should be hidden in there. I played the game on casual because some of the 1st reviewers indicated that it was difficult to know what to do and that the ho scenes and puzzles were hard, but I didn't find that to be true. While it does make you think, I was able to make it off of the "deserted island" where I crashed and fairly far into the next area before my trial was up. -The big con in this game for me, is that I wish there were a map. Even if it weren't interactive, I like to have a feel for where I am, where I've been and where I have to go. I think I will buy this game as I"m intrigued and I like one that is mostly adventure/puzzle and really makes me think.
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
I loved everything about this game. The background story is great and the actual scenes were awesome. Riding the train and some of the cutscenes will make you dizzy, they seem so real. The story was very complete....very nice ending, almost made me cry. Storyline didn't leave you hanging at the end. Mostly puzzle/adventure with not too many ho scenes. I can't stand a ho scene every two steps! The ho scenes that were there are not too hard and do have some interactive objects to find. The puzzles were not too hard, although there were a couple I needed help on (I think I was just too tired to give them the time they needed, b/c I couldn't stop playing!#. I loved the fact that it took place on spaceship/mars/outer space!! So different from the normal graveyard scenes! It has an interactive map that tells you where active areas are and you can use the map to just jump there. This was really helpful b/c in some parts of the game, you really go from one area then waaayyy back to another. There were so many areas to explore, this kept me from getting lost b/c there were a few items I found that didn't get used until far into the game & I'd forget where I needed to use them. The only thing I missed was interaction with other characters #b/c everyone is missing) but you do find video diaries that clue you in on what happened before you arrived. A great game! So different & a really interesting story, I would recommend for anyone, novice to expert.
