What I could say about this game has already been said. If you like stories over hidden object games, you will enjoy this one.
It has HO but not excessive. Puzzles are really good.
If you don't collect all the marbles, it's okay, because you get the chance to collect them after the bonus game. Then you get to play a mini mini game.
I found this by accident. I want to get the rest of this series.
I enjoy games with a story - true adventure games. The fun factor was one dash short because I don't like hidden object games. I don't think that there is an adventure game in existence that does not have HOGs.
The visual / sound was very good and the level of challenge was good for me as I played casual.
I really enjoyed the story. I didn't count off for the heavy dialog because I could speed it up or skip it altogether and not miss critical information.
I am not a hidden object fan. While this game had them, it was not one of those junk piles that make me go blind. The puzzles were fun and not too hard. I had to skip a few "slidey" puzzles.
The story line is well done. At the end of the regular game, there was a "loose end" that is resolved in the bonus game.
As soon as I get through typing this review, I am getting another Mystery Tracker game. :)
I do not like HOP games. But this one ... is different. There were only one or two junk / trash HOP rooms. Most were very interactive / puzzle type HOPs.
There are better reviews here so I am not going to rehash what has already been said.
The CE is worth every penny. I will play this game again. I recommend this game to anyone.
I bought this game years ago. I vaguely remember playing it. It has some cute qualities. The characters go well with the story line. The story itself is pretty good. That is what kept me playing. However, the graphic quality was a bit frustrating. There was an element of hidden objects but some were so hidden, I had to use many of my "hint" buttons just to find stuff. At the end, you are supposed to place a series of heads on their correct pedestal by following the instructions on a stone tablet. The expressions were supposed to reflect an emotion. But the stone tablet was hard to read and the faces and their expressions were difficult to distinguish. The shocked looking face was supposed to go on the pedestal with three dots according to the instructions, However, when I placed it on that one it goes back to inventory and tells me "it doesn't go there". That was the only face / pedestal that did that.
I probably won't play this game again and I am not going to finish it. The face / pedestal is the last part / chapter. So I think I have seen the best parts.
I don't recommend this game.

It helped to already be a fan of the TV show. However, the game was really good. Some of the puzzles were very difficult or just hard on old eyes. So I was grateful for a speedy skip option.
I found one glitch. One of the puzzles was a phone with three lights. the phone number was divided in 3 parts. One number of the three parts would light up a light. The first one lighted with the first number in the sequence. The second one lighted with the second number in the sequence. The third one had a choice of 4 numbers - but none of the 4 worked. I ended up skipping that puzzle.
Overall - very enjoyable. The story was good. I love investigation games and the graphics were excellent. I did not mind that the dialog was not spoken. I find it is a distraction to have spoken and written dialog together.
I wish that I had waited to purchase this game after I found out that ERS games are on sale.
I really enjoyed the game itself. I got the collectors edition mainly for the strategy guide.
However, when I got to the bonus game.... I found a glitch. There are two square pieces that go on a suitcase so that it will open. One has a tree and the other has a sun. Be careful, if you place these on the wrong symbols - the squares will be placed but then .... nothing. The cursor remains the viewing only not the hand to pick them up and put them in the correct place. :(
Play the game but if you mess up the bonus - you have to replay the game again to unmess up the bonus. - no reset button here :)
I recommend the collectors edition if you need the strategy guide like me. Overall the main game was a lot of fun to me. The bonus is not so much.
If you like "HOGs" (hidden object game) that is fine but maybe rethink your poor rating / bad review because this game is not a HOG.
I am finding that the games that have mediocre reviews are the ones I purchase. I don't like games that lean so heavily on HOs. I prefer more puzzle games.
It is a shame that due to the way these games are organized, you don't know which games are HOGs and which are not. The gamers who prefer HOGs are disappointed and give good games poor ratings.
Is there a reason non HOGs are lumped with HOGs under the category "adventure"? They are truly to very different types of games. I hope that someone from Bigfish will recognize this soon.
Age of Enigma: The Secret Sixth Ghost was a wonderful game. It had some really good puzzles. There were a couple of those that I could not figure out and opted to skip those and continue with the story.
This is a 5 star - NON HOG. So if you are tired of squinting at your computer screen looking through piles of junk to find obscure items, then this is the game for you!
I love adventure games but when I see the "sparkly" areas, I know there is the dreaded hidden object part.
It is so hard to find games that are not Hidden Object - adventure. I really wish that the website people here would create a separate category for adventure games that are NON Hidden Object games.
Is there a place to ask for this service? Or someone here pass the request to separate NON Hidden Object games.into their own category. Please?
